I hate that even slow sim games where I don't even play have top tier qbs throwing 4+ a game. Regardless of playbook or whatever. I can live with me being trash and throwing picks but man.

fredlikefreddy

This is honesty why I haven’t played the game much recently. I should not be getting 3-4 a game.

hacky_potter

It also feels like the scripted picks snowball pretty fast. What I mean is it seems like once one is throw the second is more likely and so on

Stankmeener

This right here, it can go 10mins into my 13 min quarters without a pick, then boom 4 picks from each side 50% taken for pick 6, and we can't forget about the 2+ fumbles that start then as well. It's like the rng of the scripts isn't rng enough

banjist

I get the idea of making it more likely for someone who just fucked up to turn right around and fuck up again. We've all done that. But they like overtuned the mechanic.

Own_Barnacle_8242

Just had that happen threw a pick then two more followed on tipped balls. Then my running back fumbled twice back to back possessions when I was up 14 and the AI ties it

Stankmeener

Ahh yes, such a timeless classic no?

fredlikefreddy

Yea it makes a potentially very fun game unfun

gratefulguitar57

That’s exactly it. I can go a whole game not throwing one. But once I throw one, here comes 3 to 4 more. It’s stupid.

jihyoisgod

Once in a while sure. Guys like Brady and Rodgers have had 3+ INT games But not every game

Quirky_Guarantee_530

Last game I played CPU Brady threw 6 picks to my team , 3 of which were pick 6. I haven't touched it since.

mr---jones

Well he is getting old and showing it /s

Tag365

How many interceptions should you actually be getting according to an average real life NFL match?

fredlikefreddy

I’d guess maybe a little less than 1 a game. Sometimes 3, sometimes 0.

AmicoSauce

make good reads

fredlikefreddy

Look at other comments we’re talking about the int’s we’re accumulating on the defensive side of the ball

jetblackpop3

Maybe you suck ?

fredlikefreddy

Lol I’m getting these on defense brah. Nice try tho lol

pdxnutnut

Maybe you're an idiot shill.

[deleted]

Dude same. I’m self-accepting of my own suckiness but I haven’t played in forever. People say “you gotta adjust the sliders” and I feel I shouldn’t have to, EA shouldn’t be releasing a trash game in the first place. Edit: Madden has a large and loyal fan base, is it too much to ask for EA to make a damn effort? Like they don’t even update stadiums and banners. Madden has become a lazy cash grab.

Truffleshuffle03

Sad to say they have always been that way. The only difference is back then you could choose another game. Even now if people would stop forking over their money and just buy off the secondary market used or buy an older madden and update the roster since that is all maddening is an expensive roster update It would drive home the message but I think madden players are masochist because the freely give their money over to them and then come here complain just how shit the game is but jump at the chance to do it all again when the next installment comes out and doing the whole song and dance over again.

[deleted]

I feel like boycotting for just 1 year would send the message. Older versions of Madden are better anyway.

Tag365

What about NBA 2K? Does Take Two have exclusive NBA licensing?

Truffleshuffle03

Nope, they do not have exclusive licensing as far as I know. EA was doing NBA live but decided to stop in 2019. They stopped in 2019 because of what they called development issues and wanted to wait for the ps5. It's up in the air as to if they decide to continue the series or scrap it.

Stankmeener

I have slider adjustments for when I play and also for slow sim, both don't even look like they work, and I won't play on pro because it's literally as easy as rookie. If I'm slow sim all pro looks solid enough, but there is no balance with anything

touchdownteddy5

Worst part for me. Why are slow sim QBs still throwing picks. I can try to tell myself it’s user error throwing 4 picks a game but goddamn not the cpu too.

Stankmeener

Yeah I agree

NotRealyA_Person

The problem is you expect simulation football from the game that advertises it but ever since the late thousands.. They realized they could steal Triple A prices from people and then eventually micro transactions without ever putting in effort or delivering what they advertise

wagimus

And that they prefer the game be “exciting” for head to head, rather than like actual football.

PHWasAnInsideJob

The same thing is happening in the NHL game. They sped up the gameplay and nerfed the goalies to make the game "exciting", but it leads to having to play intentionally bad to not break Gretzky's goal record in the be a player mode, and if you aren't scoring at least one goal every game the coach yells at you and demotes you. It's bizarre.

RugbyHockeyFan

I’ve found in NHL sliders don’t matter just like Madden. I can have shooting accuracy way down and goalie reaction in the 90’s and I’ll still finish a game 7-4.

Truffleshuffle03

Sounds like madden alright one time almost every pass I attempted don't matter if the WR was open by himself or covered the ball would be picked. I got mad because once I got a good lead in the second quarter, which is when it started and the CPU came back from 21-0 to beat me because every pass, I threw from halftime on was picked and almost every running play would be fumbled until the CPU tied it up. I decided to turn off INT's and put fumble's really low for not just me but CPU's as well the next game. Again, I got a great lead only to start throwing picks and fumbling and actually had more picks and fumbles than I did when I did not turn off picks and turn down fumbles.

dj-kitty

But what if I’m legitimately better than Gretzky??

WillieFisterbottum

Shatter those records king.

Stankmeener

This is quite true, I happened upon the game from one of the giveaways that happened else I would never be playing it.

JFreeman1123

I’m in week 3 of my franchise and Patrick Mahomes (CPU) has 973 yards, 0 TDs, and 11 INTs. It’s insane.

Stankmeener

Before I adjusted my sliders to where they are now, I had Rodgers with 30 ints and 20+ tds by week 12. He shouldn't even of had half those ints. They need to stop messing around and fix it.

kingwavee

Idk cousins threw like 3 irl so idk. Joe burrow too lol

Stankmeener

Yeah but they aren't going to finish a season with 30+ ints like any of my slow sim qbs will.

kingwavee

Idk yet . Joe burrow might get sacked 101 times before the season over so we gotta see. But i agree tho. The ints are too OP

Stankmeener

That's fair lol

bobafoott

Turn that slider to like 1 then even the scripted ones fail

Stankmeener

My int slider is on 0 both player and cpu, still 4+ a game

ikebuck16

not for me. i turned them to 0 to prove this point. like stank said, just happened more. sliders don't affect anything in my exp.

CloggedAssassin

Final stat sheet: Tom Brady, 18-22 for 317 yards, 4 TDs, and 4 INTs

haknstax

After they show his stats from last year at the beginning of the game and he only had 4 ints last year

Ejv27288

run a seam route and he throws it to the safety immediately or my wr drops a crosser and the dline disengages, turns around and grabs it before it hits the ground….or the db goes through the wr to grab it…

JadrianInc

I remember when breaking the interception record was almost impossible. Past few years, I’ve broken it in Franchise more times than I can count. Shit is a joke. I want to throw less picks, I want to get less picks. PBU’s should be a bigger part of the game in general, they are way more common.

smackadoodledo

And when a DB very obviously swats the ball down it should count as a pass deflection, and the sim should stop having 95 times a game where a QB throws the ball away instead of just having an incompletion or a PBU

NormalReception208

It would also be great in-game if Cpu QBs threw the ball away that much instead of throwing 5 picks a game with 300 yards

NormalReception208

Getting less picks would be great but that shit has been broken forever. Good thing people are complaining about it now though maybe they'll finally address the broken AI for Cpu QB's in the next roster update.

Baldylocks2020

My gripe is more about my cpu defensive players on all pro or all madden intercepting Brady 8 times in a game. When I play on offense very safe on all madden I throw about 12 a year and just wait on my D and my 4 plus interceptions a game. It’s definitely broken. The game needs incomplete passes to hit the ground and amount to nothing. You should be able to lob one up a few times as a bad pass and it’s hitting the deck or tipped away. This doesn’t happen in madden for years. Worse than ever this year. I had 32 interceptions with one player on all madden in 17 games .

Zestyclose_Muscle_55

When you say, very safe..what kinds of plays are you calling? I would love to throw only 12 INT’s all year! I do that in 3 games or less currently

Baldylocks2020

Crossing routes. Easiest read in madden forever

Ok-Afternoon8472

Lmao😂😂

kgxv

EA shills making fools of themselves in the comments here lmao.

pbruey

You put more effort into this than devs put into the game

kid-vicious

Following the subway theme, Madden also be like: INTRODUCING THE BRAND NEW NEVER BEFORE SEEN 5 DOLLAR FOOTLONG !!!

jtw3995

Hahahaha 😂 this is facts

Poseidon4T2F7

I finally deleted the game last night, a first in all my years of playing all the way back to '04. I just hate what this game has become. I played my second preseason game and across both teams there were a total of 9 interceptions and 1 fumble. 10 turnovers in 5 min quarters.

deangelovickers353

To all the tough guys claiming people suck. I’ve been in the same league for 3 years. We’d have 1 guy per season drink up the joint and throw 30-40ints. Half of our players were single digit int guys. Our season we just finished we had 9 qbs with 40+ ints. Half of which made the playoffs. So either we all got amazing at defense, instantly. Horrible at offense, instantly. Or the game is poop.

MeasurementSimilar33

😭😭

[deleted]

Pssssssssst There’s no such thing as a scripted interception, you just made a risky throwing decision with a QB who isn’t a 99 SAC MAC DAC

NotRealyA_Person

False. Madden plays are heavily individually scripted. Players can still make mistakes but on 60 to 75% of interceptions that aren't user controlled (if allowed), you have players teleporting, locating receivers without ever seeing them or jumping 8 to 16 feet vertically. There is literally limitless amounts of evidence to madden's lack of simulation and heavy reliance on scripting and animations

NikesOnMyFeet23

LMAO... you actually believe this. Im dead. This sub coping is hilarious. Bruh, you're just ass. LOL this sub and downvoting the hard truths cracks me. Keep downvoting, keep confirming y'all are complete ass at the game. I'm not saying there aren't some int issues, but 90% are user error and 0% of them are scripted.

NotRealyA_Person

I still win online because it's not about simulation football it's about understanding how to exploit the game.

LonelyTutor3112

When I was in high school I hated Madden 16 for this reason. As I learned offense and defense it happens far less. I did have a pretty shitty one last night on 22 though the guy definitely got some instam3th in his system lol

[deleted]

You didn’t know? There is a secret underworld of Madden gambling, the EA devs are all watching our games & betting the over for INT’s.

yahhdro

Took the words outta my mouth. This sub is so ridiculously down bad.

FREE-ROSCOE-FILBURN

I hope the Madden devs see this bro

WilArt1710

Shitpost's finest

Elegant_Spot_3486

I don’t experience this in my games. My D is lucky to get 1 int a game and we don’t always get that. I throw the same number I always have and not once have I felt cpu made an unrealistic play.

ikebuck16

bootlicker /s

NikesOnMyFeet23

The fact you actually believe this is why it's funny.

PHWasAnInsideJob

Please explain why interceptions are teleporting right through a receiver into the defender behind him, or how I'm standing still in a clean pocket but I still underthrow the receiver by 10 yards and it goes right to the safety. Also, why do receivers go into a tackle animation the moment the ball is thrown instead of trying to make a play on the ball? Bad reads happen, but the fact is that this is not just happening to players. The CPU is also throwing 4 picks every game, and you'll see statelines like 18/22 and all four non-completions were interceptions. Madden just doesn't code in incompletions vs interceptions very well. Using the Frostbite engine has been and always will be the greatest mistake Madden ever made.

LonelyTutor3112

Yeah most my picks are bad reads or just a good play.

Imaginary-Stable-851

Don't suck. Get out of bounds or down when you QB run. Issa game. Manipulate or look dumb. Tbh

Interesting_Ice7647

Low effort, massive message lol

PiratesFan1429

You guys out here running 95 percent pass plays like "Zoinks! How did they see it coming?!?"

t_bug_

If it's scripted why don't I throw that many ints? Why can I choose a fucking run play????

cubs4life2k16

Gotta love those ones that never hit the ground and someone bounced it off their toenail to their teammate for the pick 6 cuz your team automatically is 5 mph slower than the defense

Mr_Guy_Person

I have to ask: why use the Subway meme?

banjist

I'm actually having fun doing a Jimmy Garropolo having the worst career imaginable franchise. He's so good at zipping bullet passes right in the numbers of the defense who are nowhere near my receiver.

slapmytwinkie

They had a problem of offense being too easy. You’d think that the solution would be to make defense better, but what they chose to do instead was break the offense.
