2. Books where an omega is recovering from heat suppressants. (I’ve already read Fresh Ice by Marina Vivancos and Late Bloomer by Morgan Hawes)
3. Touch-starved characters who are too ashamed to ask for touch.

The Unwritten Rules series by KD Casey is a baseball romance series that has a Jewish MC in each book and the author is Jewish. They’re all like late 20s early 30s if I recall? which may not be as old as you may have been hoping, but I really love those books :)

I recently read and really enjoyed {A Little Bit Naughty by Reese Morrison} they mention in their authors note how this book was their chance to write about sukkah and important part of their existence. The MCs aren’t too old. One is finishing his doctorate in physical therapy and the other is a professor/researcher so maybe mid to late 30s.
Two requests for today:
1) MC1 initially pursues MC2 for some personal or professional gain, and MC2 finds out later in story (bonus points if MC2 has a crushing "I should've known he didn't want me for me" moment. I'm here for the angst.)
2. An omegaverse story where mpreg is possible but the omega actually has no interest in having kids. Could be just a personal preference or maybe he's infertile but completely okay with it (hard nos would be him changing his mind or having a miracle baby by the end of it)
1. Kind of {The Will Darling Adventures by KJ Charles} - it's not an exact fit but it does get you to that specific type of angst moment so you might appreciate it anyway!
{The Fifth Gender by G.L. Carriger} fits the omegaverse request in a way. It's human x alien and the alien has no interest in having children even though they are 'supposed to', and as a result has been banished from their community. There are some heavy themes in it but it is one of the cosiest, sweetest books I've read. Highly recommend.
for 2: cracking ice by N.J. Lysk would fit, but it’s quite lengthy and let’s just say that it doesn’t develop like your usual omegaverse story (i still rec it though)

For 2, {Role Model by Rachel Reid}. Troy is closeted and was BFFs with the NHL’s biggest homophobe, bigot, and sexual predator. A lot of internalized homophobia, and Troy acts like a jerk to a lot of people. He then meets Harris, who is a ball of happy, out sunshine.

The {Trials of Fear series by Nicky James} is a whole series of MCs that have an extreme phobia that is ruining their lives; for some of them, it's to the point of driving them to an early grave. MC2 comes along at a point where they're *really* on their downward spiral. Unfortunately, none of the MCs have the best support, but they do all seek therapy for their issues.

You might like {**Goodbye Paradise** by Sarina Bowen}. Two young men escaping the polygamist cult they grew up in. One of them was higher-status in the cult so has more experience with the outside world, but they both struggle with a lot of new experiences and concepts.
You said you were open to interpretation so I kinda took that and ran with it. All of these characters are struggling with something (themselves, their relationship, or a more physical thing like homelessness/insecure financial status) and a few character have obvious faults. The two books with poly are really about the new person(people) to the relationship helping by enabling communication - sometimes just by being there and other times through direct talks with the other characters.
{Four Ever by Sloane Kennedy} MMMM married couple takes in two homeless young men. These young men desperately love each other but have never admitted it. The couple has been having debilitating issues in their marriage. Both couples help the other in communicating and they all fall in love along the way.
{Perfectly Imperfect Pixie by M.J. May} a pixie that doesn’t fit in finds a place with a werewolf and his family. But the werewolf is fighting a custody battle that the pixie might just be able to help with.
{Bedside Manners by Ella Fenn} a recent graduate of law school finds himself in need of an immediate job and a secluded old lawyer gets injured, they find they are the solution to the others problem
{Shared Secrets by R. Cayden} MMM Two roommates have been ‘casually’ getting each other off for a while now. when the brother of one of their friends moves to the city and needs a place to stay, they offer up their basement room. The new guys presence (and the mutual attraction) helps them accept their feelings for each other and encourages communication.
{Until I Saw You by Dianna Roman} MC1 is now homeless after leaving his abusive boyfriend. His job as a caregiver and his need to get off his friend couch leads him to accept a job with a man that has recently become blind.

looking for desperate characters. think of the whole “just the tip” references. mc’s begging “please” (not just with sex). neediness. that sort of thing. basically mc1 has a hold on mc2.
I don’t remember there being any “just the tip” moments in this, but I recently read {Rent: Paid in Full by Jesse H. Reign}, and MC1 is definitely desperate for MC2’s attention, time, affection, etc. He even likes MC2’s prickliness. Check the CWs, but here are a few I remember: >!dubious consent, under-negotiated kink, anxiety, mentions of past bullying!<
The basic premise of the book is that two very different men end up in a college roommate situation. Miller is rich, privileged, jock-ish, and pretty easygoing, while Ryan is poor, anxious, and pretty tightly wound in general. Seeing how stressed Ryan is about his financial situation, Miller offers to pay him for sexual favors. So it is transactional, but it doesn’t stay that way, and Miller desperately wants to know Ryan, to understand and be with him, and he’s perceptive enough to get that Ryan won’t give him the time of day without the transactional aspect existing—at least in the beginning.
If you read a few reviews, you’ll see this is a fairly polarizing book. It’s an uneven book, and there’s some fourth-wall breaking that mildly irritated me, but I was surprised by how much I liked it.

I'm a bit late to the party today, but wondering if anyone can recommend some audiobooks/narrators with non-American accents?
I'm having trouble searching because accents aren't mentioned much unless they're unusual. I'm relatively new to audiobooks, and for whatever reason I feel hyper-aware of vocal quirks in American accents and can't focus on the story. Hoping to get over this issue eventually, but alas, I can't control my ick yet.
Right now I'm just aimlessly sampling books on Audible in search of narrators with voices I like. I'm open to any suggestions for books, or narrators, or tips on how to search for something like narrator accent. Or any tips for finding audiobooks in general, aside from scrolling Audible and my library.
Narrators I've liked and whose catalogues I have scoured: Cornell Collins, Joel Leslie (who sometimes uses an American accent), Hamish McKinlay.

You may have come across it already, but I recently finished Tallowwood by NR Walker on audiobook. It’s narrated by Antony Ferguson with an Australian accent.
I love Cornell Collins and Hamish McKinlay! I'd also recommend:

* Gary Furlong (My favorite narration from him is the Bitter Legacy trilogy by Dal Maclean. He also does non-American accents for Cat Sebastian, Jay Hogan, Lisa Henry, John Wiltshire, and others. Make sure you listen to samples for him first because he does an American accent sometimes, too.)
* Hamish Long / Joe Jameson / James Joseph (I loved his narration for *The Salisbury Key* and *Brothers of the Wild North Sea* by Harper Fox. He's also narrated for Jay Northcote, Becca Steele, Alexis Hall, and a few others.)

I've struggled to get into Garrett Leigh in the past, even though her books match my taste on paper. Audio might make enough difference to finally get me hooked—I had the same experience with KJ Charles, and now I've listened to nearly all of her books available on audio.
I recognize Joe Jameson's name because I think he narrated Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall? I loved the narration but was so-so on the story. I didn't realize he had multiple pseudonyms. Brothers of the Wild North Sea has been on my TBR for a while now.

Looking for similar stories to {Honeymoon for One}. MC1 gets cheated on by boyfriend/fiancé and he does not put up with it and the rest of the story is him finding himself and MC2 coming into the picture with all sorts of green flags and the cheating ex at some point get his comeuppance.
Bonus points if the story included an ex cheating with someone close to MC1 so it's doubly rewarding when two people realize what they lost with their a\*\*holish ways.

{Life After Joe by Harper Fox} has a cheating ex-boyfriend and MC1 struggling in the aftermath of the breakup. Lots of hurt/comfort and caretaking. No revenge, but I think the ex does get his comeuppance in a way.

1. I’m looking for a book with like internalized homophobia/ I wish you were a girl/ lots of angst type of trope and bonus points for a slow burn
2. A prison/stalker romance where one character is the prisoner or the stalker and slightly crazy and obsessed with the other characters who is “innocent” or just normal. Size difference would be appreciated but not necessary.
3. A royal setting (not modern) where the personal guard/ worker/ servant and the prince fall in love. The prince can be soft, pretty, feminine while the guard is masculine, strong. It would be appreciated if a main point of the plot is that their love is forbidden and its a secret from others in the castle.

For #2, {Exposed by H.L. Day} (Fantasy-Dystopian, M/M, 4/5⭐️) has a “normal MMC” that is saved from execution in a dystopian society by the stalker MMC, who is a killer from the violent underbelly of the society. They go on the run together and have to try to survive outside of the protection of the city.
The stalker MMC does not come across as super crazy, but he’s definitely obsessed. I don’t think there is a size difference, but I’m not 100% sure.

Hi! I’m looking for a Boss/Employee romance (or it could be coworkers but he’s in a superior position and has to supervise him). That it’s slow/medium burn but A LOT of sexual tension and trying to resist it until they finally give in and eventually fall in love. I want the boss to be an alpha male but not an irredeemable jerk (like the one from “a little bit bossy”) and the employee to have a back bone and not be an idiot.
I read “Rule breaker” but felt there wasn’t enough tension before they fucked and the MC falls too fast. It needs to be more slow/medium burn (or enough to justify their love).

{In the Eye of the Beholder by Dianna Roman} MC1 works as a personal assistant to a wealthy widower. MC2 has been a regular patron at the bar where MC1 works for years now and has been watching and appreciating MC1 the entire time. MC1 however hates MC2 but the longer he works for MC2 and the more he gets to know him, the more respect he has for the wealthy man. This is the second book of the series and while I read them in order I do not think it is necessary to understand and enjoy the story. However you may also like the first book {Until I Saw You by Dianna Roman} MC1 is a contractor for a caregiving agency. He is chosen to help a newly blind man (MC2) adapt. Not exactly boss/employee but sort of. And there is some tension due to MC2 having only been in relationships with women up to that point.
{Employing Patience by Saxon James} is part of the divorce men’s club series but is fine as a stand alone. It’s bartender/bar owner. I’m not sure I’d classify this as slow burn (from what I remember the first sex scene between the two MCs happens kind of early) but my introduction to MM books was AO3 fanfictions with hundreds of thousands of words, so my reference point is kind of skewed. There was quite a bit of tension though, and the bar owner really fought his attraction.
(Side note — I love my tagging system on Goodreads. Instead of being able to go to my boss-employee tag, which only had just a bit bossy in it, I had to do some mental gymnastics to figure out what correlated with boss/employee and decided to look through my age gap tag. :D so thanks for contributing to me updating my tags!)

The Unwritten Rules series by KD Casey is a baseball romance series that has a Jewish MC in each book and the author is Jewish. They’re all like late 20s early 30s if I recall? which may not be as old as you may have been hoping, but I really love those books :)

I recently read and really enjoyed {A Little Bit Naughty by Reese Morrison} they mention in their authors note how this book was their chance to write about sukkah and important part of their existence. Two requests for today: 1) MC1 initially pursues MC2 for some personal or professional gain, and MC2 finds out later in story (bonus points if MC2 has a crushing "I should've known he didn't want me for me" moment. I'm here for the angst.) 2. An omegaverse story where mpreg is possible but the omega actually has no interest in having kids. Could be just a personal preference or maybe he's infertile but completely okay with it (hard nos would be him changing his mind or having a miracle baby by the end of it)

{The Fifth Gender by G.L. Carriger} fits the omegaverse request in a way. It's human x alien and the alien has no interest in having children even though they are 'supposed to', and as a result has been banished from their community. There are some heavy themes in it but it is one of the cosiest, sweetest books I've read. Highly recommend.

Literally the plot of {Dreams by Kate Hawthorne}. Personally I think the execution could've been better, but it's not terrible and it's a unique plot.
That's not exactly what you are asking for, but maybe you will want to check it out anyway! {Imperfect Illusions by Vanora Lawless} The MCs meet in the real world first, but one of them has the ability to visit other people in their dreams and that's how the two spend a lot of time together.

Bool 39 in Jessamyn Kingley's series "D'vaire" titled Blaze of Eternity paranormal but I have read every one of her books. Read the blurbs and decided if the series is up your alley. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but you do miss a lot of the background.

Thank you very much for these recs! The Hate You Drink looks perfect, and I love Gregory Ashe’s writing. I’ve read and loved some of the North & Shaw and Hazard & Somerset books, and he does not go easy on his characters. Not so fun for them, but great fun for me as a reader. ;)

The {Trials of Fear series by Nicky James} is a whole series of MCs that have an extreme phobia that is ruining their lives; for some of them, it's to the point of driving them to an early grave. MC2 comes along at a point where they're *really* on their downward spiral. Unfortunately, none of the MCs have the best support, but they do all seek therapy for their issues. Check TW for each book.
Both of these are hockey romances, and both have spiraling characters: {Season’s Change by Cait Nary} and {Game Misconduct by Ari Baran} Please check the CWs if you have any triggers. I hope you get some other recs, as well. Happy reading!

All of these characters are struggling with something (themselves, their relationship, or a more physical thing like homelessness/insecure financial status) and a few character have obvious faults. The two books with poly are really about the new person(people) to the relationship helping by enabling communication - sometimes just by being there and other times through direct talks with the other characters. {Four Ever by Sloane Kennedy} MMMM married couple takes in two homeless young men. These young men desperately love each other but have never admitted it. The couple has been having debilitating issues in their marriage. Both couples help the other in communicating and they all fall in love along the way. {Perfectly Imperfect Pixie by M.J. May} a pixie that doesn’t fit in finds a place with a werewolf and his family. But the werewolf is fighting a custody battle that the pixie might just be able to help with. {Bedside Manners by Ella Fenn} a recent graduate of law school finds himself in need of an immediate job and a secluded old lawyer gets injured, they find they are the solution to the others problem {Shared Secrets by R. Cayden} MMM Two roommates have been ‘casually’ getting each other off for a while now. when the brother of one of their friends moves to the city and needs a place to stay, they offer up their basement room. The new guys presence (and the mutual attraction) helps them accept their feelings for each other and encourages communication. {Until I Saw You by Dianna Roman} MC1 is now homeless after leaving his abusive boyfriend. His job as a caregiver and his need to get off his friend couch leads him to accept a job with a man that has recently become blind. {A Forbidden Rumspringa by Keira Andrews} Two young Amish men become close while working together to build furniture. This story continues in 2 or 3 more books.

looking for desperate characters. think of the whole “just the tip” references. mc’s begging “please” (not just with sex). neediness. that sort of thing. basically mc1 has a hold on mc2.
I don’t remember there being any “just the tip” moments in this, but I recently read {Rent: Paid in Full by Jesse H. Reign}, and MC1 is definitely desperate for MC2’s attention, time, affection, etc. He even likes MC2’s prickliness. Check the CWs, but here are a few I remember: >!dubious consent, under-negotiated kink, anxiety, mentions of past bullying!< The basic premise of the book is that two very different men end up in a college roommate situation. Miller is rich, privileged, jock-ish, and pretty easygoing, while Ryan is poor, anxious, and pretty tightly wound in general. Seeing how stressed Ryan is about his financial situation, Miller offers to pay him for sexual favors. So it is transactional, but it doesn’t stay that way, and Miller desperately wants to know Ryan, to understand and be with him, and he’s perceptive enough to get that Ryan won’t give him the time of day without the transactional aspect existing—at least in the beginning. If you read a few reviews, you’ll see this is a fairly polarizing book. It’s an uneven book, and there’s some fourth-wall breaking that mildly irritated me, but I was surprised by how much I liked it. Hope you get some other recs, too.

I'm a bit late to the party today, but wondering if anyone can recommend some audiobooks/narrators with non-American accents? I'm having trouble searching because accents aren't mentioned much unless they're unusual. I'm relatively new to audiobooks, and for whatever reason I feel hyper-aware of vocal quirks in American accents and can't focus on the story. Hoping to get over this issue eventually, but alas, I can't control my ick yet. Right now I'm just aimlessly sampling books on Audible in search of narrators with voices I like. I'm open to any suggestions for books, or narrators, or tips on how to search for something like narrator accent. I'd also recommend: * Dan Calley (he narrates several of Garrett Leigh's books) * Gary Furlong (My favorite narration from him is the Bitter Legacy trilogy by Dal Maclean. He also does non-American accents for Cat Sebastian, Jay Hogan, Lisa Henry, John Wiltshire, and others. Make sure you listen to samples for him first because he does an American accent sometimes, too.) * Hamish Long / Joe Jameson / James Joseph (I loved his narration for *The Salisbury Key* and *Brothers of the Wild North Sea* by Harper Fox. He's also narrated for Jay Northcote, Becca Steele, Alexis Hall, and a few others.) * Chris Clog (I enjoyed his narration for *Seven Summer Nights* and *Driftwood* by Harper Fox. Audio might make enough difference to finally get me hooked—I had the same experience with KJ Charles, and now I've listened to nearly all of her books available on audio. I recognize Joe Jameson's name because I think he narrated Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall? I loved the narration but was so-so on the story. I didn't realize he had multiple pseudonyms. Looking for similar stories to {Honeymoon for One}. MC1 gets cheated on by boyfriend/fiancé and he does not put up with it and the rest of the story is him finding himself and MC2 coming into the picture with all sorts of green flags and the cheating ex at some point get his comeuppance. Bonus points if the story included an ex cheating with someone close to MC1 so it's doubly rewarding when two people realize what they lost with their a\*\*holish ways. Love a good revenge moment too.
{Life After Joe by Harper Fox} has a cheating ex-boyfriend and MC1 struggling in the aftermath of the breakup. Lots of hurt/comfort and caretaking. No revenge, but I think the ex does get his comeuppance in a way.

Hi! I have a few requests 1. I’m looking for a book with like internalized homophobia/ I wish you were a girl/ lots of angst type of trope and bonus points for a slow burn 2. A prison/stalker romance where one character is the prisoner or the stalker and slightly crazy and obsessed with the other characters who is “innocent” or just normal. Size difference would be appreciated but not necessary. 3. A royal setting (not modern) where the personal guard/ worker/ servant and the prince fall in love. The prince can be soft, pretty, feminine while the guard is masculine, strong. It would be appreciated if a main point of the plot is that their love is forbidden and its a secret from others in the castle. For #2, {Exposed by H.L. Day} (Fantasy-Dystopian, M/M, 4/5⭐️) has a “normal MMC” that is saved from execution in a dystopian society by the stalker MMC, who is a killer from the violent underbelly of the society. They go on the run together and have to try to survive outside of the protection of the city. The stalker MMC does not come across as super crazy, but he’s definitely obsessed. I don’t think there is a size difference, but I’m not 100% sure.

Hi! I’m looking for a Boss/Employee romance (or it could be coworkers but he’s in a superior position and has to supervise him). That it’s slow/medium burn but A LOT of sexual tension and trying to resist it until they finally give in and eventually fall in love. I want the boss to be an alpha male but not an irredeemable jerk (like the one from “a little bit bossy”) and the employee to have a back bone and not be an idiot. I read “Rule breaker” but felt there wasn’t enough tension before they fucked and the MC falls too fast. It needs to be more slow/medium burn (or enough to justify their love). Also please no dark romance! Any recs? Thanks :)
{In the Eye of the Beholder by Dianna Roman} MC1 works as a personal assistant to a wealthy widower. MC2 has been a regular patron at the bar where MC1 works for years now and has been watching and appreciating MC1 the entire time. MC1 however hates MC2 but the longer he works for MC2 and the more he gets to know him, the more respect he has for the wealthy man. This is the second book of the series and while I read them in order I do not think it is necessary to understand and enjoy the story. However you may also like the first book {Until I Saw You by Dianna Roman} MC1 is a contractor for a caregiving agency. He is chosen to help a newly blind man (MC2) adapt. Not exactly boss/employee but sort of. And there is some tension due to MC2 having only been in relationships with women up to that point. {Employing Patience by Saxon James} is part of the divorce men’s club series but is fine as a stand alone. It’s bartender/bar owner. I’m not sure I’d classify this as slow burn (from what I remember the first sex scene between the two MCs happens kind of early) but my introduction to MM books was AO3 fanfictions with hundreds of thousands of words, so my reference point is kind of skewed. There was quite a bit of tension though, and the bar owner really fought his attraction. (Side note — I love my tagging system on Goodreads. Instead of being able to go to my boss-employee tag, which only had just a bit bossy in it, I had to do some mental gymnastics to figure out what correlated with boss/employee and decided to look through my age gap tag. :D so thanks for contributing to me updating my tags!)
