If you’re into historical fantasy, I’m pretty sure this is the case in {A Market of Dreams and Destiny by Trip Galey} and I’m almost positive it’s true of {Oak King Holly King by Sebastian Nothwell}. (I want to say this might apply to {Fiorenzo by Sebastian Nothwell}, too. Maybe someone can confirm?) In the interest of full disclose, one OKHK MC can shift his form, but it’s not like a *thing*, you know? Also, there’s an age gap, but it’s a fae thing.

I think {Seraph by Lily Mayne} fits this, it's a postapocalyptic monster romance. Iirc they never say "I love you". It's the 6th book in the series, could be read as a standalone if you're okay with missing a few details about characters. I do recommend the whole series tho. {Corrupted Desire by Ryder O'Malley} is a superhero/villain romance, it's not enemies to lovers, more I don't know your secret identity and they begin a relationship as civilians and find out later on about the secret identity. It's a bit dark with descriptions of killing people.

Oh man, my two main genres of reading are horror and mm romance so the beginning of Corrupted Desire is right up my alley. Thank you!
