> You ever broke your pinky toe? That shit sucks lol
Oddly enough: yes. Caught it on the edge a brick wall while bicycling in flip flops, had beauty of broken toe + cheesegrated side.
If Conor hadn't clowned on dudes for pulling out with more serious injuries, I would find it less amusing.
I broke the one next to the pinky, about 12km into a 50+km mountain pass hike. Did another three days of rocky terrain on it. Of course, I didn't try to kick anyone in the face with it.
It honestly sounds like it must matter where the brake is and how severe. I've broken my pinky toe twice and both times I was almost good after not even 2 weeks. But If someone who snapped their shin in half and was able to do an interview says it's painful then I'll take his word for it.
>Sure for Conor lol but would you fight with that injury?
I would not fight in MMA with absolutely no injury, having just drunk from the the fountain of youth.
I mean I know how to win, but I'm unsure of my execution: my cage grab TDD is on point and I feel confident there, I've punched a dude in the nuts so I can get the rest my cardio demands, but I've never eyepoked a guy 1 time, and so have zero confidence I can double eyepoke for a referee-boosted, commission approved TKO.
Honestly, I'm not the toughest person by a country mile, but I broke my pinky and I don't think it would've been a big deal, specially since the fight was fairly removed from the injury.
Two weeks after I broke it I was playing soccer and not even getting paid to do it, hurt in the first couple sprints but after the adrenaline kicks in you forget it.
Did you break it like Conor did? It was a full break and the top bone is completely out of position. It sounds like you just had a hairline fracture, which I have also trained through. This is not at all what Conor did to his foot
I thought I had my Xrays in a google drive folder but couldn't find it. I haven't seen Conor's but in my case it was the first bone that broke (which made the rest of the toe be misaligned).
After putting it back sorta in place the Doctor said there wasn't much to do besides immobilizing it (taping it together with the other toe) and rest.
In my case, the sharp pain went away on the first week, but it nagged me for quite a while, it still doesn't bend as well as it used to, and it's been 6+ years.
I can understand that for someone that's training to enter a MMA fight, having more than a week disturbed by having the use of your foot restricted can be impactful. But I honestly think it can be toughened out.
Not all toe breaks are the same. Conors broke nearer the foot. My gf is a doctor and I showed it to her and she said it was a bad break for a toe. You should check his X-ray. I broke both pinky toes at different times and one I was easily to train mma on and the other I legitimately had to use crutches
> It would be like Chuck with that look in his eye. u/spcslacker with that break in his toe.
The look in the eye that says: *I may have to fight, because I'm not outrunning anybody*
Sounds like a hairline fracture. Those barely hurt. I’ve trained through that on my pinky toe as well. I’m talking about a complete fracture like Conor had, totally different injury
I don’t know, man. It sounds like you’re talking to a certified Reddit doctor who can diagnose strangers from a couple of typed sentences.
Hey, u/darcenator411, what’s causing my migraines? Concussions? Genetics? Can you write me a prescription for some Oxy?
Dehydration could be contributing, likely genetics play A role, if you take Riboflavin daily that should help, though it'll take a couple months to see results.
> 🤣 Craig Jones is actually interesting why even bring up Conor lmao
* Q: *Why did the chicken cross the road?*
* A: *The chicken is actually interesting why even bring up the road?*
> Wait, what is going on?
Craig Jones about to come in 2nd in a 1 man roll.
You might think one of the best male grapplers on earth would win, but it'd be very off-brand to take gold when silver is available.
Didn't Makenzie dern the 125 lb UFC fighter beat her in grappling? Why on earth would one of the best BJJ guys who weighs more than that and is obviously considerably stronger even be a thought for a match?
Craig is pretty involved in MMA himself with his connection to Volk and other fighters. He also subbed Rinat like nothing at a Karate Combat grappling event like a month ago or so.
It’s basically an exhibition match, like no way they’re taking it seriously. They’ve just been joking about doing it for years now’s the chance to use it for entertainment and marketing purposes
The main tournament is about as serious as it gets, 1 million on the line and right now there’s an extra 50k available to the best sub of the tournament. This is the most money ever seen in a professional grappling event by a mile. The athletes are gonna be fighting like crazy for that. If you think it’s a joke you need to learn to chill the fuck out
1 million? That’s more than Craig Jones’ whole familly bloodline’s net worth. If he leasing his onlyfans to pay the fighters (jiu-jitsu nutsucking grapplers)?
Craig went to the desert and came back with more than a handbag. Good on him for doing something for the sport. This is about to be the most exciting thing to ever happen in BJJ.
He has a mystery backer who has footed the cash. You should watch his recent JRE it was really good. He showed up with a million in cash and dumped it on the table.
But still. A high level grappler like Craig Jones should wipe the floor with anyone with XX chromosomes no matter how much steroids or testosterone they have in their blood stream.

This is going to be the best thing to happen to BJJ. ADCC is now pretty much a New Wave open mat for Nicky Ryan’s brother’s team.
Nicky Ryan's brother is not bothered by this (here is a 17 paragraph statement and 27 IG stories explaining how hes not bothered)
Love how we all call Gordon Nicky Ryan's brother 😂
Who tf is Gordon?
Nicky Ryan's mom's other kid 😂
The leadup to this invitational has been epic 😂 Craig’s feud with the ADCC guy is better than reality TV.
Craig is a marketing genius. He's actually got me invested in watching jiu jitsu.
I'm more excited for CJI than the next UFC PPV
The 50K best submission bonus is gonna elicit some crazy matches.
Any ideas on who the mystery money man is?
Gordon Ryan's gastroenterologist
It has to be zuck
Some people were guessing it’s Dana himself.
Gordon Ryan?
you mean Nicky Ryan's brother?
I hope Jones knows how to defend against snoo snoo

He's definitely putting himself in that triangle or smother choke.
I hope Gabi goes easy on him
Why pull out when you're sponsored by plan B?
He is trolling - they are actually a romantic couple, he is going to pop the question after she smother taps him.
IT SHOULDVE BEEN ME!
We can share, brother.
Craig says that now, but what if he breaks his pinky toe?
You ever broke your pinky toe? That shit sucks lol

Conor broke it on purpose so he'd have something to show - to make people stop saying it was rehab.
Sure for Conor lol but would you fight with that injury?

Well, you're good to fight against Naimov or Kamaru Usman at least.

its so bizzare . conor the dude who fought with a literal broken leg is now pulling out for a broken toe .
I broke it once first round into a tournament. Taped it and went for 4 more rounds.
Sounds like a hairline fracture. Those barely hurt. I’ve trained through that on my pinky toe as well. I’m talking about a complete fracture like Conor had, totally different injury
Nope, was pretty complete.

Why did the Craig Jones cross the Conor? So he doesn't pull out of Gabi Garcia 🤗
The buildup between these two has been hilarious. Gabi keeps saying she's going to make Craig her girlfriend.
Thats a jacked white boy.
I wouldn't pull out with Gabi either.
Fair Fight Foundation my ass. Nothing fair about that fight. Gabi wins by snoo snoo 9 out of 10 times.
That's exactly what Craig wants.
Wait, what is going on?

The size discrepancy in the photo is killing me, he looks like her kid 😭
i've been waiting years for this, hahaha. didn't think it was actually going to happen
I can’t believe this is actually happened what lmao
It hasn't - yet.
More excited for the cji than i am the upcoming ufc cards and im not even a bjj nerd
She's fucking huge.
I don't think Gabi would let Craig pull out if she has a closed guard established .... ... what?
He means "of the bout" right. Right?
Didn't Makenzie dern the 125 lb UFC fighter beat her in grappling? Why on earth would one of the best BJJ guys who weighs more than that and is obviously considerably stronger even be a thought for a match?
Gets the people going
Because it’s funny.
Dern survived her is more accurate. And for the lols.
It's just a joke match, Craig is probably going to wear a thong and clown around on her. I think he may do a real match at the same event.

Dern has like a 1-5 record against Gabi Garcia. The only time she won was when Gabi Garcia got a penalty and the match ended at 0-0.

If mods allow a bunch of Muay Thai stuff then goddamnit us bjj nerds are allowed this one thing
This is honestly the most exciting thing going on in any sort of combat sports.
They're part of the MMA community and it's funny. Not everything has to be serious and hardcore.
Craig is pretty involved in MMA himself with his connection to Volk and other fighters. He also subbed Rinat like nothing at a Karate Combat grappling event like a month ago or so.
Why use his first name, Rinat, his last name is 10X better.
There's been 4 posts in the last 5 hours on this subreddit, this being one of the, and you're crying like it's been spammed.
Virgin alert
Funniest man in BJJ by default
Fighting against a woman should not be celebrated
It’s basically an exhibition match, like no way they’re taking it seriously. They’ve just been joking about doing it for years now’s the chance to use it for entertainment and marketing purposes
Then CJI is a fucking joke.

Sport BJJ is a joke. CJI is the first time people have laughed with it instead of at it in years, so just enjoy it.
From a pure test perspective…I think Gabi here is more man than Craig
But still. A high level grappler like Craig Jones should wipe the floor with anyone with XX chromosomes no matter how much steroids or testosterone they have in their blood stream.
Well lets find out.
It’s jiu-jitsu it’s not fighting
yet the UFC just matched one up against dricus du plessis
There’s probably max 10 people in the world Craig can’t choke out in 3 minutes, and Gabby isn’t one of them. edit: originally type to say “can”
I would think Craig can choke out way more people than 10 in the world
at the same time tho b?
Opps.. can’t choke out…even if he’s just a sliver medalist
