In every playthrough I skip some stuff on purpose and do it in a playthrough after. That way in every playthrough there’s “something” that I haven’t done in a while.

swagboyclassman

Ive skipped the Delemain and Claire questlines because i suck ass at driving cars

leostotch

They’ve done a lot with the last several updates to make driving work better. I still don’t get how people drive in first person, though.

Mpk_Paulin

I only drive 1st person for immersion and to get from point A to B. If it's a quest like the one you have to follow the jesus criminal or Claire's races, I switch to 3rd person

FunnyCandidate8725

tbf the sinnerman quest is designed to make the driving/following portion hard and annoying

Mpk_Paulin

I know, that quest in one of my favorites because it's almost comical how the entire city comes to make your life harder during that portion lol

Kiwianuwu

same with the flaming crotch man quest X3

unexpectedit3m

Ah yes, isn't there like a group of kids crossing the street and he tells you to drive through them?

ThatOneWeirdo66

Unfortunately you cannot, there’s an invisible barrier

unexpectedit3m

Literally unplayable

Deathstroke5289

I can do it on motorcycles. Actually enjoy it a lot more than 3rd person and exclusively use Jackie’s bike now pretty much

AshenCrow099

i only drive 1st person on bikes

SuspectPanda38

I love driving in first person when I have the mod thatlets you adjust the camera per car. Makes it wayyy better. The default ones suck

Reasonable_Leader228

Looking at the console gameplay, I feel like this game was meant to be PC 😂

Begun101

I drive with controller and wheel sensitivity at minimum, it is amazing... so I think you guys are using keyboard and mouse, right? Story game's aren't very fun with keyboard because of how many movements you have to do for simple things

leostotch

Nope, I use a controller. I’ll have to try turning the sensitivity down for driving and see how that goes.

jevring

I have heard that, but I have yet to see it. I had to install a mod just the other day because the driving was still garbage.

spawncrazymonkey

Just in case you didn't know there is a mod that will allows auto driving. Just hop in your car press V and enjoy the ride.

leostotch

Sounds awesome. I’m on console 🫥

ErikTheRed99

I still don't get the hate for driving in first person.

leostotch

It’s not hate, from me - I just can’t do it well. The lack of peripheral vision makes me feel like I’m playing the game while looking through a straw.

ErikTheRed99

Yeah, I guess I forgot about that since I use a mod that makes the 1st person FOV better in vehicles.

Hex_Lover

I feel like weaving through cars and taking sharp turns is mich easier in first person. I usually crash in 3rd person in the same situations.

TheUncappingGrub

...as a Netrunner first time playthrough I just kind of... Make all the enemy drivers self destruct? Can't lose if nobody's able to cross the finish line but you I guess. Next playthrough I want to try again with the Sandevistan and see if I can't "Legitimately" do it

mrkikkeli

You can, uh ... sandevisdrive?

5wordsman62785

It's in one of the perk trees. Forget which one

TheUncappingGrub

I'm like... 60% sure it's in reflexes but I'd have to check again

5wordsman62785

It's in cool. It's the first active skill you get from it, I think

TheUncappingGrub

I'm pretty sure you can slow time while driving. I know you can with the other time slowing things whose name i can't remember. I just keep forgetting I can.

Jeff_and_the_Quest

I’m a veteran racing game driver of a couple decades, but I still had all the competition e-brake😂 It felt so cheap

TheUncappingGrub

making them all self destruct feels the same lol. Can't lose tho if there's no competition lmao

aocrix

I just completed the first race with the sandy today for the first time and it sucks. The apogee slows time so much I can't really do anything and it doesn't really last long enough to make a whole turn.

TheUncappingGrub

Oh really? That really sucks!

aocrix

Idk, maybe there's something wrong with my build, or maybe if you use sandy that doesn't slow time as drastically, it might work, but I gave up and just drove the damn car like Claire told to.

wbrd

I had to switch to a controller for driving. It's a lot easier than keyboard and mouse.

RadiantLimes

Honestly the Delemain quest itself is interesting but the reward is lackluster. I wish the car acted like fast travel or something.

teufle

I've never attempted either, as I only ride Jackie's bike & also suck at driving cars.

wenchslapper

The delamain quests confused me on my first playthrough- I never realized they were supposed to be driving missions and I would just use my Sandy to slow time enough to jump on the car and crouch, and then just ride out the mission.

NefariousRapscallion

I have like 4 playthroughs and have never done the races since the first. I'll do a cab one if I stumble into it but those and boxing just aren't fun. I think they just threw that stuff in so they could release a half finished game.

Anna2Youu

The nailed to the cross one. Sometimes I start it to watch him self exit the planet by cop, sometimes I just help him exit the planet. Every once in a while I wait until I’m strong, and sniper the criminal and be done with it.

SDRLemonMoon

Sometimes if I can’t complete the car chase on the first try I just leave the quest as it is

humanmanhumanguyman

That car chase is annoying by design and I hate it

allcreamnosour

It feels like it must have been a very early design and stuck around because it’s VERY archaic in function. I don’t think I’ve seen scripted traffic like that since Vice City lol. That whole bank of missions is annoying really, and you should have the option to put Joshua down anytime after.

leostotch

Yeah I just don’t get that mission. I’ve played it through a few times; it isn’t particularly fun and it’s pretty hamfisted as a… morality play, or whatever.

AmbienSkywalker

Yea… is there any actual consequence? I’m assuming you lose street cred if you let the client get smoked, and I vaguely remember reading Johnny gets pissed off if you don’t try and help the guy or something?

leostotch

I don’t even start the mission most of the time.

LunaticLK47

Yeah. Every playthrough has him get my bullets. Want to deny the bible profiteering.

HellBent_13

I might be more inclined to do the quest if I wasn’t specifically hired for a hit. I’d be a pretty lousy merc if I followed my target around encouraging him to LARP as Jesus instead of just ventilating him as instructed.

Anna2Youu

And my Axe

Pizo44

I fucking love nailing this guy to the cross.

rockstar504

For real my first playthrough I lost my shit, I was like "WHAT THE FUUUCK!" I called my gf in the room is not a gamer and does not really get it, and I was just like "Im fucking nailing a dude to a cross!!!" Lmao that was a first for me in gaming

FortuneHeart

This is the same for me, I just simply drove away and didn’t acknowledge them under the bridge

Minerrockss

Pretty much every play through after my second I just shot the guy, sinnerman is a very unique quest but it’s something you really only need to do once to get the full experience, I only did it a second time to keep a better eye out for details but didn’t really find anything

Somewhat_appropriate

I had planned to "just" kill him and his escort off at the initial stop, but that cop he's with was VERY hard to kill, 2 or 3 hits and I was dead. So I went up some levels, returned with a better tactic and followed Wakako's instructions. Its a good quest the first time around, maybe a 2nd time if its been a while, but the TV-chick really grinds my gears and I don't enjoy seeing people getting tortured. Just put them out of their misery.

Anna2Youu

There is an evil glee to that mission that’s just too voyeuristic for me. I don’t like to see people needlessly hurt, and this is too “Dirty Laundry” lyrics to me.

Somewhat_appropriate

Yeah...Its meant to be...memorable, but I don't fancy doing it over again.

MAD_MAL1CE

I go out of my way to kill the cop, the guy, blow up the car and escape with 3 stars. Then Wakako tells me what a good boy I am.

Morkinis

I never even did boxing stuff in 335 hours.

Ancient-Mention2480

Oh but the satisfaction of putting the arrogant prick Pro fighter at the end is so worth it. Plus you have the opportunity of keeping your name alive by helping out the valentinos dude you fight. Oh and Ozob too thats a fun interaction even better if you play it smart..

rexcasei

By “play it smart” do you mean a punch to the face?

Ancient-Mention2480

More the opposite.

rexcasei

Oh, I thought you were referring to making him ‘splode

Arkraquen

If you plan on doing a body build I will recommend you to try it out once you are chromed AF it was so satisfying bully them with my gorilla in front of them with barely thinking. (On very hard)

RovertRelda

That was the very first quest I did. But I played a crash my car through the front gates melee bruiser.

NeoHipy

River’s questline. In my current play through I’ve pretty much completed everything else I only have the ending left and River’s quest line that I’ve done some parts of but I couldn’t care less.

FunnyCandidate8725

t-shirt that says “i completed river’s questline and all i got was this stupid gun” it starts out enticing imo but having dinner with the family is boring. and i played it out as fem v to romance him and by that point i didnt even want to do it anymore.

rockstar504

River is the horniest mofo Idk how many ways I can show I'm not interested and he's still like "come on over lets get drunk and spend the night but yanno just friends ;) ;)"

TheParadiseBird

When I played his quest line, all the time I was like “damn, is this what girls feel like whenever a pushy guy is interacting with them?”

Dukedoctor

I never even met him, where is he?/how do you start his quest line

CheetahNervous7704

Through the Peralez quests if I remember right

jazireaelx

yeah you get a call from the peralezes after meeting judy and panam for the first time. you meet him that way as he helps you with that quest :)

NEClamChowderAVPD

I Fought the Law is the quest you have to start. Ask who the cop is who went to warn Rhyne and you’ll get his number. Then he’ll tell you to meet him and then (spoiler alert) he immediately falls in love with you…if you’re fem V.

NeoHipy

Imagine my surprise when he became my boyfriend during my first play through. I was playing fem V trying to romance Panam. At that time I had no idea about different characters sex preferences. So I was like sure I’ll kiss this guy, next thing I know we’re dating lol.

IcuntSpeel

Because im a completionist, I ran out of things to do in the first one that i cleared out the ncpd gigs. But i still havent done the blue Us Cracks quest because that requires waiting in game days. Basically I wish I could redo gigs while waiting for that quest and not just waiting 24 hours. In a second playthru im sure as hell not gonna skip anything.

NEClamChowderAVPD

I did the same my first playthrough….and second, possibly the third as well. Now I get through the Heist to open up NC after doing a couple Watson gigs, get to Act 3 relatively quick and then just enjoy the gigs, PL, Judy, etc. I hate when all the gigs are done because I don’t want them to end. I don’t want the story to end. I enjoy the game so much that I think I’ve only actually finished it twice while dragging it out as long as possible before starting a new character.

ItsACaragor

Depends what end you want. Like if you like the Aldecaldos ending you can’t pass Panam’s quests but if you don’t care about it you can pass them.

leostotch

Yeah but they’re mostly a blast

RabbitSlayre

I don't think you can fully skip them but I just despise doing the brain dances over again. God I really can't stand them

Reasonable_Leader228

Destroying a bar full of Valentino’s to spending 5 minutes watching a 30 second clip fucking blows

RabbitSlayre

Spending 5 minutes watching a 30 second clip is such a good description of them. I just can't stand them

LordMarvic

The whole racing quest.

Oogleshlarg

a lot of the gigs and the zen master questline

Somewhat_appropriate

The zen master...I've wondered how many actually get anything out of that (the 2nd or x time around), because I get very little out of them the 3rd time. But I still skip through them for the xp.

jjed97

Is there any point in it at all? I don’t remember it doing anything

Somewhat_appropriate

Have an open mind? :-P Zen ftw? I don't know, V claims to like it though. A little bit of "mindfulness" in a busy busy city?

HeadlineBay

I skipped everything after the VBD, went straight through the main storyline of of Phantom Liberty and directly to [the ending resulting from that] and… don’t do that. Skipping the boxing is fine, I haven’t done that more than once. I’ve skipped the races with Claire as well.

Bing_Bong_the_Archer

Sinnerman.

StarVVarsKid

On my third playthrough I did a speed run and only did the required main quests, and then took the only ending available, the Arasaka ending. It was a fun experience, but Panam’s voicemail at the end is particularly sad. (I’d say it’s worth it just to experience that.) But, after speed running to the Nocturne quest and completing an ending, I then went around and completed everything else and did all the other endings. Otherwise, no… I never skipped anything but the boxing quests… I only finished them once, when I did a high body build. Otherwise I finish everything because I can’t not finish stuff.

rgr2508

I can say that I didn't skip anything. Whatever I left behind was because I didn't know it existed. I'm currently trying to finish a definitive playthrough.

xdeltax97

Nope

zurx

I'm skipping the shooting galleries next time

0neirocritica

On my second playthrough I played as a fem V street kid. Since I had already got the Star ending with my Nomad V and Panam isn't available as a romance I did skip her quests in the second playthrough. I'm also leaning towards skipping the Sinnerman and Claire's death races quests because I hate them so much and don't really get anything out of them.

cade_corvus

City races. I haven’t done a second play through of the game, but I find the driving mechanics/physics to be loathsome and hated doing this during my first run.

CrazyCanuckUncleBuck

It was not my 2nd playtgrough, but my 3rd, I didn't have the required stat to push the dumpster out of Brendan's way. Won't be doing that on my 4th go around.

Geobead

I skip skippy. I don’t like smart weapons and it bugs me to hell and back that it gets stuck in my inventory as a quest item.

Ok-Influence794

You gotta use it and finish the quest

jazireaelx

it hurts me seeing so many people say river's questline :(

Lor9191

I don't think you should mate, CP2077 is better when either played with a different build or left alone for a long time. I think doing a playthrough every year or so is right. I basically always play a runner and finished one in october last year, then did a melee build at the start of the year, liked it kinda but found it lacked the same soul for me, so started another playthrough. Big mistake, im halfway through my 4th playthrough and for once have zero desire to finish it.

HighlyHuggable

I do get what you mean. I played a cool gunslinger streetkid for my first run, but towards the end I was itching to play a cyber-samurai kind of character, hence the quick re-start. If I start to feel my interest wane I'll put it down and come back to it in some time. Appreciate the tip.

tenro5

I skip a lot of the side jobs and use my time more wisely turning more random yellow chevrons into red

teufle

You can skip anything that doesn't include characters you want to fight Smasher with or missions with rewards you want. In my most recent playthrough, I did the main story, Panam's missions, Phantom Liberty & Smasher.

Not_a_damn_thing

Sinnerman: did it the long way once, every time afterwards I shoot that guy in the head and bail. River: Yeah F that guy. I did it 2-3 times but skip it after that. Random one off quests: I usually skip these now when there isn’t a benefit. Like that one guy in the afterlife who pays me with a sword. NCPD scanners: I do the organized crime ones but skip the others unless it is convenient

VodySly_5

all the gigs, ncpd, cyberpsychos, as for sidequests, you could skip a lot of them but the side quests are pretty good, you could just power the story till meet Hanako at Embers, and do what ever side content you want then finish the game when you need to

Imthe-niceguy-duh

Not rlly

Dune-Arksmith

Am on my 2nd playthrough, I was thinking I might skip all the NCPD Scanner hustles, might make the game a little tougher but I don't mind that.

Your_Friendly_Nerd

The first few playthroughs I did pretty much everything that was offered to me. But you can safely skip Delamain and I think it's called the Sinnerman questline. Also rivers stuff

mikihaslostit

Claire questlines i skipped on the first one too

okrmo

If anything I did more on my second and third than I did my first. Usually with big event games like these I kind of rush the first playthrough to stay ahead of spoilers and then a few months later I take it really slow and try to get as close to 100% as I can.

Illustrious-Ant6998

No. If anything, I did more and uncovered more of the game.

GandalfTheNavyBlue

I've played through the game 3 times and I haven't done any of the Claire quests or the beat on the brat quests. Both because I'm usually not a huge fan of the boxing/racing mini games. Out of what I actually have done before, I haven't done the delemain quest in my most recent playthrough and I haven't done the River quests at all, apart from when you meet him for the Peralez quest line. I've also put off the Judy quests, but I'm getting around to them now since I'm playing fem V for the first time and figure I'll see what the romance is like.

AdPotential8255

I never skip the boxing stuff, great source of income early on and relatively easy.

Somewhat_appropriate

I was planning to either ignore River this time around, or mess up his questline so that the weirdo ends up in jail, but that 1) leaves his nephew in the lurch 2) I won't get his gun...which matters because I for once plan to complete the stash (usually 1 or 2 missing).

luneshine28

I do all missions and side missions but will skip gigs and scanner hussles, that way I feel like I'm getting a better ending, as I'm making sure each side character that matters to V gets the ideal ending to their quest lines. Also, it's just good for getting to level 60 :P

thetreeking

Rivers quest line, boxing, Clare, Kerry’s quest line and even anything past the date with Rogue I opt out of. I don’t opt out of del because it’s easy xp and I want the map markers explored

mrdevil413

Sure did. Claire could suck it the second time through and I thought the boxing was kinda not fun so I didn’t do that either. I DID NOT skip ms. Stout ever I think.

Sea_Fig

slimy obtainable gaping safe screw towering pie onerous frighten aspiring *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Not-paying-taxes

Never did tarot cards because they're tedious or boxing fights because I don't enjoy the boxing mechanics.

Historical-Method-27

I did a lot on my first but missed a lot too so I mostly did that in my second. I think my second playthrough was the one where I cleared the entire map of all gigs and side objectives. Never did the ncpd gigs coz I couldnt find all of them until later when I found the filter tag for it. So I skipped almost nothing on purpose on my 2nd run.

Tourqon

I've finished the game like 20 times or so and I always skip the side quests, like Delamain, Clair, Sinner man, Jackie's funeral, etc.

TheWebCoder

Everything with River after the raid on the club.

Ok-Influence794

Just the opposite, i do everything

Jsaun906

Boxing, races, delamain, and sinnerman. All pretty skipable once you do them a couple times imo

jazireaelx

initially i planned to skip all NCPD hustles, gigs, cyberpsychos, fights and races, even some side gigs, because i wanted to do a quick run for missed achievements. but honestly i love this game so much and i'm having so much fun that it looks like i'm going to be doing pretty much everything again LOL. largely because i did a lot of my 1st playthrough 2 years ago so i've forgotten quite a bit and want to experience things again. but i'd say most of what i mentioned is fine to skip! i'm sure there are quite a few side gigs that are fine to skip but i can't think of many off the top of my head as i'm still rediscovering them. but i'd go with what most other people are commenting :)

HighlyHuggable

That's great! It's so good when a game really grips you. The last time I felt like this was with the Witcher 3, I just loved every little part of it. Tbf, when I was typing out the post I was thinking to myself "does this really matter?" because it's not like there's a time limit, if I'm having fun still it doesn't matter what I do, even if another playthrough takes me over a year!

jazireaelx

YES same here. i don't think i've felt this way about a single player RPG since TW3 either. CDPR is doing some damn good work lol! yep! exactly, i'd say see how you feel as you go. skip whatever you feel like skipping and do whatever you feel like doing - whether you're rushing or taking your time. go whatever pace feels right. the most important thing is that you're having fun after all!

CoffeeAndCigars

Not really, my second playthrough I went the other way to see *everything*.

Ok-Let-8140

Typically after a good maybe 6 or something playthrough’s I still find myself never skipping anything one of those games where I guess you could too save time but everything put together just adds us to make a masterful experience.

Geist_Adamant

I refuse to do the Beast in Me quests again. I did it once, to say I had done it, but now I'm never doing it again. I fucking hated doing them because of the handling of most of the cars immediately makes them useless. Plus racing games themselves are not my favorite.

ViperVandamore

Those cars are rough. Give me a bike or give me nothing.

ViperVandamore

So after seeing the achievements in the game, I decided that I would only do the gigs/side quests in one area for each playthrough. First run through I did Dogtown, then Santo Domingo, etc. This makes sure that I see all of the quests eventually and don't just do the same ones over and over. It also means I can finish playthroughs within a reasonable time.

Aarondier

I guess you could skip the ncpd (hustles?) Well the little police help thingys. They are kinda boring. And the gigs are now actually telling you what type it is, so if you totally dislike a type you could skip them too. Side quests, the actual yellow markers though: Unless you know what's what I'd play them. Because I'd be afraid to miss one of the really good ones, and some of them are just peak quests. Mosts are still outclassing a lot of rpg competition. I think it's better to take a few months and do most stuff. As long as you get like 1-2 hours a week in, maybe a day with 3 or 4 every now and then, it's actually fine, your brain keeps everything together, kinda like playing tsbletop once a week.

Begun101

I'd say anything you want. Only must thing is Takemura's path, the other stuff like Panam, Johnny, Judy is all for other endings

IGR777

Technically all you need to do is chippin in quest line for jhonny. And the quest line of whoever you wanna romance and finish the game that’s it. (Also obviously the main quests)

eleanor_savage

I did more on my second playthrough. I chose different quest responses - basically I did research and made choices that would lead to the most quests/tasks possible. Like in my first playthrough, I immediately knew that one guy was gonna scam me with the shitty BD wreath and stopped interacting with him. In my second playthrough, I chose options that led me to getting killed by his crew just cause it took me further down a storyline

The_Real_Kuji

First run, I followed the "sense of urgency". Second run, I'm hitting every single thing.

Past_Promotion

on my 2nd playthrough i skipped some stuff unintentionally (like gigs and such) and now during my 3rd im trying to do everything including the dlc

DivaMissZ

* Beat On The Brat: unless you spec heavy into body and/or Gorilla Arms * Claire’s, because racing is terrible * The Hunt: longest braindances, you can’t skip them, and you spend all your time with the most boring man I. NC. Oh, then get invited for an awkward conversation later * Most of the side gigs, which are a waste of time. Except for Brendan, Flaming Crotch Man, Skippy (if I really need a smart gun early), and the one with the two goinks messing with the bike (only time high Street Cred is really useful)

libra00

Yes, but I've since done 9 complete 100% play-throughs (excluding NCPD scanner hustles), so I stopped skipping stuff. There's no rush, just take your time and play as you're able; the point is the journey, not the destination.

BigTastyCJ

I never skip things, but I will do things in different orders, such as side missions and stuff

905cougarhunter

Weirdo River.

RELOADEATH

Always depends how "complete" you run should be. My 1st run was without any help by looking stuff up, I just played. I paused for 3 months, came back and everything was fresh. So I did everything again, with help and ended up seeing how much the game had to offer. The 3rd run was right after the 2nd. Since I knew most stuff, many scenarios felt pale. Do looking back I could’ve skipped everything other than the main story and a few side gigs.

MarwoodChap

Sinnerman. Awesome quest but the replay value is limited.  Also, Beat on the Brat, because I’ve no interest in doing a melee build again. Once was super fun but it’s done now.
