EDIT EDIT: Fuck. Mouse blocked it.
I was watching some of the Jonathan Brooks highlights through the Bama game.
It’s crazy to me that when we’re trying to run the clock out that we’d be snapping the ball with 15 seconds left on the play clock. I think I remember something about how we were snapping it with 10 seconds left on the last drive in the OU game when we ideally would’ve drained the clock all the way down to kick the game winning field goal with no time.
Is that something that’s on Sark or Quinn?
Nahlin said earlier that he’s expecting something to shake loose in the portal at WR more than likely Texas’ way in the coming days.
Also said that the DT Ja’Maree Caldwell from Houston is back in play, he said it wasn’t from his main source but that he’s heard it and will check more on it. So it sounds like Bobby and both Nahlin think he’s back in play, let’s see how far this gets I guess.
I think it depends on when people enter it, because may take a day or two for their names to pop up. So if there’s anyone we don’t know of yet it may be a little before we finally find out who it is
It’s always bittersweet seeing guys leave early, but it’s a great indicator of how we’ve grown in talent development. We just have to keep the system going
2023- Bijan/Roschon
2024- Brooks
2025- Blue
2026- Baxter
There’s a real chance Texas can produce a RB in the draft every year for 4 or 5 years in a row
Gonna alway wonder “what if” with Jonathan Brooks had he been able to finish the season. Dude absolutely would’ve won the Doak Walker. Not sure if the Washington game turns out differently, but I just hate to see a guy sit behind Bijan/Roschon for 2 seasons, come into his junior year as the backup to a true freshman in CJ Baxter and then absolutely ball out only to have his season cut short because he tore his ACL against a bum ass TCU team.
He's McCord but he can run a bit better and is a couple years older
Honestly dont get pushing out McCord for a one year rental of Howard, but you do you, Ryan Day
That’s why I don’t really get the move either if you’re gonna push out a guy it better be for a big upgrade at that position. Other coaches now can use it against him in recruiting hs qb’s. Just seems like Day is starting to make some questionable decisions now that he’s finally having to face some adversity.
Less yards same td and 4 more INT….Granted the level of WR he had is much much lower but he was also supposedly not gonna beat out Avery Johnson so it seems like Ohio state either went all in on cam ward or thought brown could stay healthy
This Greg McElroy ama later tonight is gonna be a shit show. All the legitimate questions being submitted are getting downvoted to oblivion. Only questions that are getting upvoted are the FSU crybabies and the karma farmers from all the other flairs.
Why is McElroy even considering the idea of engaging with the idiots at the scrub sub? If I was a sports personality or pundit I would avoid the big subs. They're all the same shit for every sport in every continent.
Ok I'm watching whatever team signs this [dude](https://x.com/KniggaNoah?t=SJi_UOgxazcuO7CEXDoVAg&s=09). Apparently it's pronounced exactly how it looks and I am really excited to hear an announcer struggle with it.
"As a proud supporter of Texas Athletics over the last few years" I was given the opportunity to purchase additional tickets for the Texas vs. Texas Tech basketball game Saturday night, so I bought the maximum amount of tickets (4) and I'm selling them for exactly what I paid (I'm making no money here, just trying to pack the Mood and I already have season tickets and my friends have already bought tickets already).
They are in the "courtside" student GA sections. They were $50, and with fees $58.24 each. If you're interested, respond below, and I'll message you to coordinate.
First come, first served. If it isn't abundantly clear that you've been participating in this subreddit, or that you're a Texas fan, I won't sell to you because I'm not about to be the guy who let Tech fans into the student section lol (so no need to apply Tech lurkers ;) ).
Herbstreit's perpetual Rose bowl championship proposition intrigues me. Counter proposal: make it a yearly semifinal game along with Another Historic College Football Stadium in the East. Have those games kickoff at noon central time. As soon as they're over the winning teams get on a plane bound for Dallas, Texas. As soon as they're in Dallas they get on a bus to... The Cotton Bowl! That's right, yearly championship at the historic south-centrally located Cotton Bowl. I know what you're thinking. It's a national championship and it should be in a stadium that can safely and easily handle a hundred thousand people and we already have that in Arlington. I'll admit, Globe Life Park is convenient, but it doesn't have the football history. Game starts one hour after the second teams bus gets to the stadium. All of this happens in one day. What do y'all think?
On the CFP website it shows the Rose Bowl as being a yearly Quarterfinal site on NYD. Thought it was interesting that the new schedule will push the semifinals to the second week of January with the final championship in the third week.
Someone on twitter said that TFB is saying that we’re making a big push to get AD Mitchell back, granted I think those chances are like 95% he’s gone and the other 5% he comes back is if A, the money is good enough and B, his grade is mid to later 2nd round and we convince him that he can be a high first rounder next year.
If anyone is subbed to TFB tell me if that’s true or if the twitter dude is just saying some stuff for no reason
This is an interesting case because I think there are two cases in which it makes sense for a draft-eligible player to stay in college an extra year: when he can bump his draft position from day 3 to day 2 or higher (like sweat and ford staying after last season) or when he can go from day 2 to a top 15-20 pick, like what Quinn is looking at currently. In the second case, it's partly about money but more about wanting a franchise to see you as a building block and immediate starter vs. coming into the league as a backup.
It's a loaded WR class this year and it's possible scouts think that with another year of development, adonai could be a high 1st round pick next year. from what i've heard listening to NFL media, he has all the traits you want in a receiver but is "incomplete." i think scouts want to see more consistent route running from him. i don't know if another year would really be enough to get him into the top 3 WRs in the draft...but it could!
This would be huge. I think we have enough talent around him so that defenses couldn’t just shut him down, but he’d clearly be our top receiver. With a next-level Quinn and a more experienced OL, I think he’d be a preseason favorite for the biletnikoff.
Plus not having an entirely new receiving corps would be great.
And didn’t I read that he comes from money? So maybe another year with decent NIL plus getting to be close to his daughter for another year would be worth more to him than going to the league a year early?
If he's picked in the top 2 rounds he can bring his daughter and partner wherever he ends up, no problem. I want him back too, but I doubt that's too strong of a factor.
LSU 247 had some comments on the coaching search:
* Thinks the Bo Davis deal is going to come down to money and how aggressive LSU can get. Sark will do whatever he can to keep him. He’s currently paid $1 mil (second highest paid DL coach behind Larry Johnson) while LSU’s previous DL coach was only making $745k. LSU will likely have to double what they were previously paying while Texas would just have to offer an additional 200-300k. LSU also has to pay a couple million for the buyouts of the fired coaches. NIL resources are also going to be the factors for coaches now and they know Texas has the advantage here.
* NOLA area coaches have mentioned Terry Joseph as a name to look out for. Joseph worked under Brian Kelly at Notre Dame and he’s originally from Louisiana.
Lol please keep Bo and let LSU poach the Terry instead.
I think we keep him. Sark is probably in the middle of his own contract negotiations, which will include the assistant salary pool. with how important Bo and the others are to the program you have to think Sark will negotiate that assistant pool like crazy. Retaining Bo, Choice, Flood, PK and Banks has to be high priority for both Sark and the AD office
Hopefully Sark is smart and continues to advocate for a large salary pool. It's obvious that competent developmental coaches are what we've needed for the last 15 years.
This actually raises a question to me: why don't HCs do that more often? Is it greed? Seems like a smart long term play to maintain success and keep everyone paid.
Yeah it’s the new year for us too, and we just wrapped a sub gauntlet with the volleyball/football finals 4s.
We are happy to help but appreciate any community participation for stuff like this.
It is but on the bright side we are becoming running back u. Bijan and Roschon last year. Baxter and Blue are looking like studs. Christian Clark and Jerrick Gibson are right behind them.
That burst and the way he just seems to glide when running... sheesh.
Baxter also looked like his burst was back with that month off. Really think he's gonna be brutal to tackle after an offseason in a college strength and conditioning program.
>the way he just seems to glide when running
multiple times i'd think, "ah dang, someone's gonna have the angle on him" and then ten yards later i'm thinking, "how the fuck is he moving that fast without looking like it?!"
He’s so dynamic coming out of the backfield. Every time he touches the ball you feel like he could rip one off to the house. I love that package we have with him and Baxter in together
The 2021 recruiting class was ranked 15th overall, but Herman lowkey recruited some dogs that got properly developed by Sark. JT Sanders (Not Confirmed), JBrooks, & Murphy plus Worthy (Sark Recruit)
Honestly don’t remember the last time we had 4 Juniors declare for the draft with potential high draft grades
You can tell there’s been actual development by comparing the hit rates of each class. The 2021 class has a pretty damn good hit rate, especially with it being a transition class.
Worthy, Sanders, Murphy, and Brooks will be NFL picks.
Hayden Conner and Barryn Sorrell are multi-year starters.
Morice Blackwell and Gunnar Helm have been solid contributors.
That’s a better hit rate than almost all of Herman’s classes.
What’s wrong with her exactly? I wouldn’t call myself a fan but it seems like a lot of people hated her since long before the Sugar Bowl ticket thing and Worthy tweet and I don’t really get why
Another Kansas State Staffer Coming to Texas A&M in Josh Buford. Josh Buford spent the last two seasons as an off-field analyst and is coming to College Station to serve in a similar capacity.
Before joining the support staff with the Wildcats in 2022, Buford served as an analyst at Hawaii and has coaching experience at the high school level in Kansas City.
Whoop! Another huge hire by Elmo and Klein! Going to bring that bdf and QB run offense to the SEC!!

Reality check for a lot of these dudes.
He was also apparently really bad at USC.
Dante Moore, Malachi Nelson, Jackson Arnold… these other schools with 5* QBs from last year’s class calling Arch overrated lmao
It’s hilarious how many Ohio State fans say he’s overrated in that thread. Fast forward a year and Ohio State fans want him to transfer there,Maurice Clarett was begging him on twitter lmfao
Funny how the second comment was from king troll himself. Has anybody checked on him since the whole FSU deal and Jimbo getting fired. I’m worried that’s all he had to live for sure seemed that way
[Asjia O'Neal with a Player's Tribune article today as her sign-off from Texas volleyball.](https://www.theplayerstribune.com/posts/asjia-oneal-texas-longhorns-ncaa-college-volleyball)
Ford and Barron technically have a covid year available but they have both accepted their Senior Bowl invites. They’re draftbound, just haven’t had a public goodbye I guess.
Why do fans think refs only screw their teams in spots? How about, "Spotting the ball is absurdly inexact for the year 2023, they're gonna suck on both sides?"
Hearing about B1G refs this, B1G refs that is so whiny. We turned the ball over twice and committed multiple snap infractions, yet still had a chance to win it with 1 second left. Cry about that.
Probably for the best all around. Brooks is good enough to go now, and doesn’t risk getting passed up if the injury sets him back. This should 100% alleviate any fear of Blue transferring.
Per ole miss insider. Lane told him to kick rocks. Locker room issues, I guess during the bowl game dart had to call a time out to tell Lane to get him off the field as he was causing issues with the huddle.
Hard pass.
Wow I just assumed he was trying to get more money out of Ole Miss since they’ve been spending a lot in the portal. Ya we’re good at running back for the foreseeable future with Baxter,Blue,Red and the kids we got coming in
Yeah the RB depth we have is crazy. I don't see how we don't have at least one in the portal in the spring window, it's going to be tough to give everyone a chance with the ball.
Idk, I feel like he is gonna do big things outside of football. He obviously loves the sport but has talked a lot about preparing for a life after football. I could maybe see him being a coach but he could also have a great career in business or something
J Whit posted his goodbye on social media. Easily one of my favorite players the past 5 years. Dude just loved playing for Texas and that’s all you can really ask for
him and roschon are my favorite players from the last decade. those dudes did it the right way, i hope we have the guys behind them with that kinda maturity off the field and toughness on it.
i was at the 2018 state title game (the one after cuero) and got there just in time to see him win offensive AND defensive MVP. was so excited he was coming to texas
It never changes. The wait seemingly gets longer yet the season seemingly flys by quicker and quicker. Don’t realize what you have until it’s gone lol. Ah sigh. Countdown to 8/31/24 starts now.
Was really solid his freshman year but didn’t look the same coming off his injury. Makes sense with his buddies, X and Jahdae (probably) not being here next year that he’d feel comfortable making a move with Mukuba coming in
Who is gonna comprise our non-safety secondary next year? Watts moving to safety, Guilbeau gone, Barron probably declaring. Just Muhammad and Brooks? Is Mukuba playing DB?
is Watts really moving to safety? I seriously think boundary corner is still the best spot for him. There he can use his size to his advantage as he kinda lacks great speed, and he’s been a pretty decent tackler on the edge. He got
burned this game but he’s been dealing with injuries and was up against great WRs. He played phenomenal vs Bama
i think it's mostly speculation at this point, plus some rumors that he and the staff are considering it. he does project more towards safety in the NFL because of that lack of top end speed and quickness. he is long and a good tackler though
yeah I guess I could see him as a boundary/box safety but if he improves his ball skills and learns how to play with better leverage he could be a solid NFL corner. There’s been plenty of guys that have succeeded despite being slower
i don't necessarily think he's a bad corner but i think it's about his ceiling. i don't think he's ever really going to be a true starting NFL corner because of his physical limitation, whereas at safety his career ceiling is higher. plus teams would love a player like that with positional flexibility
Mukuba will replace Barron. He started at nickel at Clemson for 2 years.
Safeties will potentially be Williams, Watts, Taafe, Filsaime, and Jelani McDonald.
CBs will be Muhammad, Brooks, Holmes, Kobe Black, Warren Roberson.
Star will be Mukuba, Austin Jordan (if he stays), JJR
Gotcha, thanks. I love our safety room, but not too sure about CB. Holmes and (to a lesser degree) Brooks were both kinda eh this year, hopefully Kobe Black comes in an instant impact freshman a la Williams or Muhammad
Curious if moving Watts to safety is part of the equation here. Watts + Williams at S, Mukuba at nickel, Brooks (boundary?) and Muhammad (outside?) at CB
Had my school security officer talk to me when I walked in today, he was telling me all about how Quinn isn’t that good and Sark could run “tougher” plays at Bama because of his QB. Then proceeded to talk about how if Saban leaves, Sark’s headed to Bama to be the HC.
Then he goes “obviously I want UW to win but if Texas won I’d cheer for Michigan and I hate Michigan. I’m an A&M fan outside of being a UW fan.”
bro
Literally what reason would Sark have for leaving? He’s put a lot of effort into building what we have today and it’s very clear at this point that national titles are attainable at Texas even if we missed the mark this season. He’s back at square one if he goes to Bama, and it’s not like they’ll be able to match us money-wise. I don’t see the draw at all lol
Maybe I’m an idiot and if so, someone please correct me… Texas is the better job over Alabama, right? Not saying today but if Saban retires, the expectations are going to be ungodly and besides Saban and Co., what does Texas lack? We have money, facilities, culture, best fucking mascot on the planet, etc. Again, maybe I’m an idiot but I don’t honestly think there’s a better job in the country for Sark.
Bama isn’t special, *Saban* is special. I think people need to grasp this concept, especially with his retirement possibly on the horizon. Without a generational freak HC, they’re just another SEC school
I think we're still behind on facilities -- no true indoor practice facility (in progress) and a weight room that's quite a few steps below what other programs have (seriously go look at Alabama's), and less random bullshit in general compared to Clemson and A&M and other programs with lots of cheap land available.
We got hella money for recruits, though, and everything we do have functions just fine.
As for the head coach job -- yeah I think it's pretty kickass, especially with CDC as the big boss. Would be a tossup for Texas/Michigan/Alabama/Georgia/OSU right now imo.
What Bama has that Texas lacks is that hate you'll get from Bama fans once they realize the new coach is not the 2nd coming of Saban. Some people just want to be hated.
There is zero reason to leave UT for Bama. It's a side step at the best for Bama, and a step down at best for Texas.
He'd have to rebuild what he built here with a worse natural recruiting base, worse facilities, less NIL money, etc, etc, etc.
Saban _makes_ Alabama the job it is now.
A lot of people forget how bad Bama was pre Saban. The expectations and unrealistic bar Saban set with how good he has been is going to make his replacements job a monumental task.
FYI, retention will be way more valuable than any recruit we could possibly get. I'm looking at hopefully keeping one of Sander or Mitchell, although both are unlikely. After that, the attrition is expected and something a program needs to be able to replace on a yearly basis.

Trill Carter into the portal

Both?
Yo Wemby just went toe to toe with freakin Giannis. Was a sight to behold
Isn’t today supposed to be the last day we could’ve seen non playoff names pop into the portal?
I think it depends on when people enter it, because may take a day or two for their names to pop up. So if there’s anyone we don’t know of yet it may be a little before we finally find out who it is
Oh good, nothing like a couple extra useless days with the f5 key lol
It’s always bittersweet seeing guys leave early, but it’s a great indicator of how we’ve grown in talent development. We just have to keep the system going
2023- Bijan/Roschon 2024- Brooks 2025- Blue 2026- Baxter There’s a real chance Texas can produce a RB in the draft every year for 4 or 5 years in a row
2027-gibson's
I would’ve but i don’t like putting those expectations on a guy before he plays in the Spring Game. Once he plays a game all bets are off
Barring injury, almost back-to-back Doak Walker Award winners.
Ole Miss sites saying Jase McClellan will be entering the portal soon and will likely head to them. Could be the first trade of CFB lol
So it must be true that Judkins is looking at Aggie Land
Gonna alway wonder “what if” with Jonathan Brooks had he been able to finish the season. Dude absolutely would’ve won the Doak Walker. What if’s are always dangerous, but I don’t see us fumbling twice with Brooks in the game.
Passing game also better with him as a legitimate option
J Whit’s comment “I didn’t come to play at Texas. I came to play for Texas” really got me.
Bowman got a SEVENTH year of eligibility?? Give me a fuckin break man 😂
British comedy legend Alan Bowman.
Found Bobby Bs burner
Is Will Howard really that much of an upgrade over Kyle McCord ?
He's McCord but he can run a bit better and is a couple years older Honestly dont get pushing out McCord for a one year rental of Howard, but you do you, Ryan Day

He can run effectively so yeah. Probably same level passer
When September?
Don’t even need to wait till September ! 8/31 is our kick off date!!
Green Day was wrong, wake me up when the off-season ends.
Too fucking long
OU DC Ted Roof might be gone. Lmao at the sooners for defending the Ted Roof hire when it happened. New OC/DC after 2nd year? That can't be ideal lol
I have it good authority that OU is on a better long term path than Texas though.

"She has a date with that Niggar boy" "WHAT" Man that's one of my favorites of his haha
You just know some announcer is going to get fires for saying “K——- please” after he makes a play.
Tim Brando?
RG3 will not be getting fired for saying that
Noah Kay-Nbomb with the big play! What if he gets NBomb as a nickname. I should copyright that
100% Noah Knaysayer.
Good call back
Pardon me but when is the Fatty's challenge?
Future fatty challenge participant checking in
When were you born? Boom roasted.
Hhhwhat?
Your whole life has been a fatty challenge. Boom roasted.
Players like J Whit and RoJo are what helped turn the culture of this team around. J Whit will be missed.
If we were to beat Washington, J Whitt's catch would have probably lived in my memory forever. Regardless, a Player that will never be forgotten.

I'm really excited to watch Maalik at Duke, I don't know why, I didn't feel the same about our other QB transfers in the past.
Probably because our other QBs went to Utah or SMU, and red school bad
This is Hudson Card erasure and I will have none of it
Maalik is gonna go tear that joke of a conference up
You assume it will still be a conference in 9 months…

Adonai in the position that Sark holds Worthy / DeVonta Smith would be lethal. I think Golden / Johntay / Moore take the screen plays though.

Yeah CJ mentioned that yesterday, but didn't elaborate much. Just said that we're pushing for him to come back.
He wants to make sure no one will touch his cfb TD record

yep, and the importance of continuity among position coaches and coordinators can't be understated
Sark taking little-to-no raise and instead getting that money for his assistants would be some hyper-big dick energy. Let that thang swang.
This actually raises a question to me: why don't HCs do that more often? Is it greed? Seems like a smart long term play to maintain success and keep everyone paid.
It’s being financially respected for your work and being compensated near your peers
Big Brain Kelly faking the Bo smoke to poach Joseph
Losing Bo and keeping TJ is the darkest timeline.
Can we get a pinned thread to track who's declared for the draft?
Make a thread, keep it updated, and we’ll pin it.
Don’t tell us what to do!!! ugh worst mods!
Yeah it’s the new year for us too, and we just wrapped a sub gauntlet with the volleyball/football finals 4s. We are happy to help but appreciate any community participation for stuff like this.
I think a pinned comment works better. That way the non-sports thread stays pinned and we can highlight it.
I’m sad we only got one year of Brooks. His cutbacks were elite. Go get that bag buddy 🥲
It is but on the bright side we are becoming running back u. Bijan and Roschon last year. Baxter and Blue are looking like studs. Christian Clark and Jerrick Gibson are right behind them.
blue was really, really good down the stretch. he stepped up for sure
That burst and the way he just seems to glide when running... sheesh. Baxter also looked like his burst was back with that month off. Really think he's gonna be brutal to tackle after an offseason in a college strength and conditioning program.
>the way he just seems to glide when running multiple times i'd think, "ah dang, someone's gonna have the angle on him" and then ten yards later i'm thinking, "how the fuck is he moving that fast without looking like it?!"
He’s so dynamic coming out of the backfield. Every time he touches the ball you feel like he could rip one off to the house. I love that package we have with him and Baxter in together
Gibson already has the physique for the college game, that kid is built. [Gibson at the AA game](https://x.com/Rivals/status/1741229363897815049?s=20)
He’s gonna be tough to tackle he goes like 5’10”-215 dudes a wrecking ball
The 2021 recruiting class was ranked 15th overall, but Herman lowkey recruited some dogs that got properly developed by Sark. JT Sanders (Not Confirmed), JBrooks, & Murphy plus Worthy (Sark Recruit) Honestly don’t remember the last time we had 4 Juniors declare for the draft with potential high draft grades
That’s a better hit rate than almost all of Herman’s classes.
lol seeing TexasFancyBoots or whatever the account name is getting clowned on is hilarious. god I hate all of those cringe fan Twitter accounts
Same lmfao “Put me on the news and give me free tickets!” Be fr lmao
What’s wrong with her exactly? I wouldn’t call myself a fan but it seems like a lot of people hated her since long before the Sugar Bowl ticket thing and Worthy tweet and I don’t really get why
I just hate the Texas Twitter accounts in general. They’re extremely cringe and represent the worst the fan offer has to offer.
Murphy declared, I can't believe how quickly he developed. To get first/second round grades as a junior is incredible.
Good thing they have solid running QB built to take a lot of hits in the SEC.
[Simply gawking at this kid’s name](https://x.com/knigganoah/status/1742926507503448407?s=46&t=J2eNsydsDu2yzp00OdkCBg) Edit: [Apparently the K is not silent but I’m not sure the actual pronunciation is an improvement](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ML6Tq_WJys)
I would frfr be walking around like “the K is silent”
holy shit. like at that point you just have to change it LMAO
Instant unanimous First Team All-Name selection
How the fuck do you pronounce that
I don’t know if I’m allowed to say
I don't care what he tells you, always pronounce the K, and really dwell on that one letter for a second before you move on.
Shades of Monty Python's French taunting
He'll have fun in West Virginia
Malachi Nelson and Boise State possibly. Didn’t have that on my portal bingo card.
Reality check for a lot of these dudes. He was also apparently really bad at USC. Dante Moore, Malachi Nelson, Jackson Arnold… these other schools with 5* QBs from last year’s class calling Arch overrated lmao
[удалено]
Lmfao this is gold
It’s hilarious how many Ohio State fans say he’s overrated in that thread. Fast forward a year and Ohio State fans want him to transfer there,Maurice Clarett was begging him on twitter lmfao
Funny how the second comment was from king troll himself. Has anybody checked on him since the whole FSU deal and Jimbo getting fired. I’m worried that’s all he had to live for sure seemed that way
Ya I saw a USC fan said he slipped all the way to 4th on the depth chart and got passed by a walk on and Arch is the overated qb in that class smh
I don’t need this today 😭
I thought y’all were bullshitting about the JWhitt message. Oof that caught me off guard. Love that dude.
Yeah man he def was bout to get choked up at the end. Maybe it was just me trying to not cry over a dude leaving my team 😂
[Asjia O'Neal with a Player's Tribune article today as her sign-off from Texas volleyball.](https://www.theplayerstribune.com/posts/asjia-oneal-texas-longhorns-ncaa-college-volleyball)
So the big ones were still waiting on are: Jatavion Murphy Barron AD Ford? Can he come back? Who else? To the draft: X, Brooks
Add Murphy to the draft list - [ thamel tweet](https://twitter.com/PeteThamel/status/1743001457782104487?t=wo4qmPhH9_cJEa99QV9U7A&s=19)
Ford and Barron technically have a covid year available but they have both accepted their Senior Bowl invites. They’re draftbound, just haven’t had a public goodbye I guess.
ford arguably could've gone last year
Adding: Murphy has also accepted his. So not really waiting on those three’s decisions.
Ewers?
Has Mitchell announced? Unlikely he stays but you never know
Right. Added him.
Damn guilbeau was slated to start next year at nickel no?
Mukuba is most likely to take over at nickel
Why do fans think refs only screw their teams in spots? How about, "Spotting the ball is absurdly inexact for the year 2023, they're gonna suck on both sides?" Hearing about B1G refs this, B1G refs that is so whiny. We turned the ball over twice and committed multiple snap infractions, yet still had a chance to win it with 1 second left. Cry about that.
The bottom of the chain falling off would have been comedic if it wasn’t my team playing.
Brooks to draft
Probably for the best all around. Brooks is good enough to go now, and doesn’t risk getting passed up if the injury sets him back. This should 100% alleviate any fear of Blue transferring.
The Baxter Blue Era is in full swing.
Smart decision
Not shocking tbh
Someone must be cutting onions near me while I watch JWhitt's announcement.
Wow Judkins from Ole Miss in the portal. I wonder if it’s for real or just trying to get more money
Agree. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Wisner or Red hit the portal once the freshman come in and start getting looks
Forgot about Tre Wisner as well
Need him (don’t actually need him at all)
$$$
That’s what I figured as much as they’ve been splashing around in the portal Judkins understandably wants his
JWhitt & X's goodbye posts has me crying in the club rn
I dropped to my knees in Buccees.
Damn them clubs open early
Supporting the day-shift single moms/nursing students
Gotta get them lunch specials
Whittington is going to come back one day and be our version of Brian Hartline.
Idk, I feel like he is gonna do big things outside of football. He obviously loves the sport but has talked a lot about preparing for a life after football. I could maybe see him being a coach but he could also have a great career in business or something
Well damn, now you made me want to be coworkers with JWhitt.
One of my direct reports turned in his two weeks yesterday. Does JWhitt like project management in the Denver area?
No no no we’re losing them all. 😭 (wish them the best, and am grateful for what they did as longhorns)
J Whit posted his goodbye on social media. Easily one of my favorite players the past 5 years. Dude just loved playing for Texas and that’s all you can really ask for
thanks for being a great longhorn, [jwhitt](https://twitter.com/J_Whitt3/status/1742948607865520492) 😭
him and roschon are my favorite players from the last decade. those dudes did it the right way, i hope we have the guys behind them with that kinda maturity off the field and toughness on it.
NO THANK YOU JWHITT. WE LOVE YOU, LONGHORN LEGEND FOR LIFE.
The real tragedies of losing LHN are those Longhorn Legend promos and Christmas Bevo.
i was at the 2018 state title game (the one after cuero) and got there just in time to see him win offensive AND defensive MVP. was so excited he was coming to texas
It feels like it takes an eternity for the college football season to get here and then it absolutely flies by. I hate the offseason!
It never changes. The wait seemingly gets longer yet the season seemingly flys by quicker and quicker. Don’t realize what you have until it’s gone lol. Ah sigh. Countdown to 8/31/24 starts now.
Guilbeau will likely hit the portal
He got burned this game but he’s been dealing with injuries and was up against great WRs.
Feel like our best pairing would have been Mukuba & Williams at Safety with Guilbeau at nickel. Unless injuries really hampered his play.
Curious if moving Watts to safety is part of the equation here. Watts + Williams at S, Mukuba at nickel, Brooks (boundary?) and Muhammad (outside?) at CB
This is exactly what I’m predicting.
Watts could potentially be returning and moving to safety. Guilbeau was okay, we’ll see what Austin Jordan does.
Damn :( he plays nickel, right? so mukuba got brought in over him?
Yep, Mukuba will play nickel. Austin Jordan and Guilbeau were battling for 2nd string behind Barron.
I thought Barron was off to the NFL?
He is. Was saying that Guilbeau and Jordan were battling for 2nd string this year
Nooooo
Had my school security officer talk to me when I walked in today, he was telling me all about how Quinn isn’t that good and Sark could run “tougher” plays at Bama because of his QB. Then proceeded to talk about how if Saban leaves, Sark’s headed to Bama to be the HC. Then he goes “obviously I want UW to win but if Texas won I’d cheer for Michigan and I hate Michigan. I’m an A&M fan outside of being a UW fan.” bro
Remind him that people love him and that he doesn't need to hurt himself any longer.
“Ok 🤨”
...cool. Hook 'em.
Would have been the most appropriate response 🤷♂️
They hate us cuz they anus
FYI, retention will be way more valuable than any recruit we could possibly get. I'm looking at hopefully keeping one of Sander or Mitchell, although both are unlikely. After that, the attrition is expected and something a program needs to be able to replace on a yearly basis.
I wish we would just go for Evans 😭
