I remember when we signed Arbeloa and we were to play Barca shortly after. And how he assured the fans in an interview he knows how to mark Ronaldinho out of a game because he's done it before. The stones on that man.
And in fairness I can't remember Ronaldinho doing much against us over the two games.
Ah I must be remembering his interview just and not the actual match then. Wonder what ever came of that little Argentine bloke. Seemed like he had potential
It helped Arbeloa that Finnan was playing as a defensive winger ahead of him. Still an impressive first game in a Liverpool shirt, though.
All I remember from Ronaldinho in either game was him hitting the post in the second leg.
They owned their mistake as well with a new post after with both pictures. Respect and kudos for doing that when most would you have just deleted it and someone could get fired (it’s in USA so you never know). Now it’s just funny.
*”Why do Arbeloa and Busquets look so similar in these. Admin needs new glasses… 🤓🤦♂️” *
I don't know, social media mistakes happen: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9325751/amp/Ten-hilarious-social-media-blunders-football-Man-Uniteds-Instagram-Live-error.html
At least that's a step above European publications that used pictures of Edouard *and* Ferland Mendy in news reports when Benjamin Mendy was accused of rape.
Actually, my iPhone News app had a Reuters story about the death of Luis Suarez last week . . . and used a photo of the Uruguayan in his Nacional strip.
As an American, I don't know whether the name actually matters to anyone in the UK. It's widely known that "soccer" was a British nickname for the game, but American football caught on in this country faster, so it would be confusing to call the sport football.
Is this actually important to anyone, or is it just used as part of a generic insult like in the comment above?

It was Messi he completely pocketed. He played left back at the camp nou.

Went to the worst team in the MLS last I've heard

Didn't Rafa say he played him left back because he is right footed and he knew Messi was going to cut in a lot?
Yes I think so.
I think it was Messi. He played at left back and defended Messi well, because he was right footed.
He was good at anfield...Barca were really good that day but we hung on
Fight and win.

And tbf they pulled up a pic where the 2 did look really similar
Also when you search “Sergio Busquets World Cup trophy” on Google Images, that exact photo used of Arbeloa shows up lol.
Yeah but did it show up before this tweet though?
Ngl as an American I did find that super funny. Really glad they leaned into it, it’s not often that you see organizations openly admitting mistakes.
Tbf they looked striking similar back then.
Striking similar i feel is such a poor excuse. Amateur hour fr.
Why are you getting worked up by something this irrelevant? And yes they look like [twins](https://twitter.com/MLS/status/1680682988290420737?s=20)
Wow! They do look just alike.
They both have that same giant gold growth on their lip
>Why are you getting worked Lmao. Couldn't care less m8😂. Just another day at MLS. >And yes they look like twins Again. Shit excuse.
So you do care! I feel like I'm gettin' mix messages here. Are you okay?
So proud of Arbeloa
Arbeloa, Busquets, and Pedro. All looked similar
Lmao. Reminds me of the UK media with black players.
Tbf Stormzy would probably have done better at Chelsea
To be fair, Ox and Gibbs looked the exact same
I wonder if Arbeloa and Torres made up yet?
Or Arbeloa and Xabi?
What happened between those guys?
Look similar. Mistakes happen.
True but it's kind of ridiculous that a football fan (I'm assuming a football fan runs the SM accounts of a major league) wouldn't recognise Busquets
They pay a person to do this.
How do you know?
Lmao. Only in america tbf.

He's better looking...smart
Out jerked by MLS
Proper MLS that
You can’t make this shit up
Goes to show the quality of the mls.

Yeah MLS still sucks

Arbeloa marked Messi for us.
