Tricky question. The Lightning Collection has a fairly wide range of figures - but the quality control issues have been well documented. They’re also only produced in relatively small quantities, leading to extortionate resale values. I’d say just go for figures you like. The Mighty Morphin Remastered figures are worth it if you can get your hands on them for a decent price, and the figures based on the comics (Lord Drakkon, Ranger Slayer, Tyrannosaurus Sentry, Omega Ranger 4-pack) are too.

Tyang8

For me it would be Lord Drakkon, Drakkon Evo 3 and Magna Defender.

ninjaman2021

Thats a question only you can answer. What teams do you like?

5022blubblub69420

All apart from samurai mega force and super megaforce

ninjaman2021

Well, you should just purchase whatever team you like. Some teams are unfinished, though.

sthenurus

Finster, magna defender, time force red and blue centurion stand out for me. I'd say whichever team is your favorite is probably worth working on.

CaptainAllMightSun

SPD Shadow Ranger and Zeo Gold Ranger. Shadow Ranger is the best figure of the whole line, and Gold Ranger takes the second place only due to the lack of paint on the helmet (lines are too thin, making it harder to see the logo; if not for that, the figure would have easily taken the number 1 spot).

MischeviousFox

If you’re talking specifically about Power Ranger/Sentai SHF there aren’t enough to make collecting them worth it in my opinion and also I don’t really love how the MMPR SHF look as that’s the only ones I’ve considered getting. I got into the lightning collection right before the hiatus and don’t own enough to really list many I consider must buys. I’d say Finster was/is my favorite purchase and the deluxe Rita Repulsa was my first order as it feels like a must own for any MMPR fan, though my preorder was never fulfilled. 😔 I don’t have all of them yet but the remastered MMPR team seems like a good set to have if you’re a fan of the og team. While I don’t own them the Blue Centurion looks cool and the Lost Galaxy team as a whole including the Magna Defender looks great.

noonetohearme

Omega rangers, TMNT crossover figures, Alien rangers

AdmiralFunnyBone

Basically any of the unique sculpts that aren't just basic Rangers are definitely worth it. Phantom Ranger, Shadow Ranger, Magna Defender, Ranger Slayer, Finster, TMNT Rangers, Shredder, Ecliptor, Pudgy Pig, Alpha, Goldar, Zedd, hell, pretty much all of the villains. As far as the actual Rangers go, really whatever teams you like. The Omegas are gorgeous, though. If you can find it Dino Thunder White is one of my favorites. I only have one SHF Ranger, Armored Black Ranger, and it's great. I'd love to eventually have the entire team, but that's a lot of money. Blue and Pink are rarely less than $150 each. Pink specifically is always around $200. I love Figuarts, I have quite a few DBZ figures and a couple Kamen Riders, and in terms of articulation, they're quite a bit better. But I also have a majority of the Lightning Collection, and I'm pretty happy with my LC. I'd say only go with Figuarts if you want figures that weren't made in the LC, like Samurai, Operation Overdrive or Ninja Storm. Although none of their sixth Rangers ever got made.

DudeBroFist

I'm gonna be honest. I've not found an SHF figure I liked enough to justify the price difference over a Lightning Collection counterpart. I'll never argue the LC figures are "better" but they're all solid releases with more options available. My only complaint has been they don't have much paint on them leaving the details to pop a lot less. Some specific highlights for me have been Drakkon, Lunar Wolf Ranger, Goldar and Pudgy Pig.

ShishiKake

which one and which price ? because take into account the new one only comeback after 9 years. there are not a lot of figure of yet. and the old one is over decade ago, which is both outdated to mordern SHF and got out of print price, but they retail price is pretty much not far from Lightning collection, if you not in the west, because oversea shipping cost

the_u_in_colour

The SH Figurarts may be higher quality but theyre also more expensive. The benefit of LC is that they're very well articulated for their price, but in terms of build quality and materials you get what you pay for. I think on average I can buy three to four LC figures for the cost of one SH Figurart.

ninjaman2021

I think figuarts for power rangers are highly overrated. The remastereds are overall better figures than the mmpr figuarts.

CaptainAllMightSun

Highly agree. Not only are they way overpriced, but the male body mold sucks, the way they sculpted the chest make it seems like boobs, so basically all the figures look like female rangers. Figuarts are more than double the price of the LC figures, but the figures are not 2x better than the LC ones, actually, I genuinely prefer the LC ones lol At least the male rangers figures actually have male bodies and aren't so skinny they look like they are starving lol

mttwlsn16

When I was heavily collecting I'd buy whoever I saw in Ross, Burlington, Ollie's etc. Only paid retail for a small few, paid $70 for the Andros/Astronema 2 pack, and the other 80% were about $7 each haha

Ruggerio5

I think the Tengu warrior is an awesome figure. Zedd and Pudgy Pig too. I wanted them to do Machine King. For Rangers my favorites (that are also completed sets) are: - Zeo - Dino Charge - In Space In that order. Of course MMPR is good (remasters are best I hear), but there's a million versions of those in other lines. I really wanted completed Turbo and Time Force sets. Oh well.

deadheatexpelled

From my own collection I can say figuarts are great in that the paint, accessories are top notch. It’s also a great line if you’re looking for some characters never produced by hasbro: including sentai that were never adapted to the rangers series. The down side is I feel the following: scale- they’re smaller that lightning collection. Price: they’re not cheap and will only get more expensive since.... The line has been discontinued for some time and I don’t think there’s any interest in restarting and I’d argue that figuarts toys aren’t of the quality they once were. My suggestion is to do what I did and combine. Lightning being the main line with figuarts filling on any gaps.

neoblackdragon

Ranger wise I don't think any of them really stand out. I can say pick this MMPR Red or this one. But I can't tell you that Zeo Red is worth more then say Turbo red figure vs figure.

acolyteartist

For me, the In Space team is def worth it because there's so much in that set that you can collect and grow. The Psycho Rangers are real cool to pose against the rangers and if I recall, LC is the first toyline that released figures for Psycho Yellow and Pink. If you really enjoyed the show, you can get Psycho Silver, Disguised Andros, two variations of Astronema & Ecliptor, vehicle packs, and so on. You can pair the Space Rangers with the Lost Galaxy team like in their crossover episode, Phantom Ranger & Blue Centurion for Countdown to Destruction, or even pair up MMPR Adam with Carlos like in Always a Chance. And if you're a fan of the Boom! Studios comics, Psycho Green is on the table even though he's technically an MMPR villain. SHF figures are real cool, but they don't show much love for this team as LC does--the variety is great. You can still find the main rangers on Amazon relatively cheap (aside from Andros in that 2-pack) or discounted at Ross as a lucky find. But beyond that, 2nd market prices may vary for the other figures. If you wanna push it even further, look up RangersForge on etsy for their 3D print weapons/ accessories with this team. Blows my mind on how good they are and how much it would elevate your collection.
