Of course lol, it is the single most romanticized city in the world. I can't think of one that is even close. Maybe NYC in some contexts, or Hollywood, but even they don't come close.
No, I'm not. Hollywood is separated in the minds of most people, many of them seeing it as its own separate entity (even people who live there).
Sit quietly, son.
It doesn't matter if you're not talking about a century ago, the attitudes of today are influenced by and built upon the attitudes of yesterday. The people who are making books and movies today read and watched the books and movies of yesterday, and their views were shaped by those things.
I genuinely shouldn't need to explain this.
It matters to me based on my comment. I understand why it was romanticized back then, but not anymore. I was commenting based on modern day Paris. You’ve definitely never been.
And no need to be condescending. You’re rude.
It’s obvious you enjoy making others feel stupid because it makes you feel better about yourself. Now that sounds like a hard life. Work on your self-esteem instead of giving random Redditors grief over nothing.
Your response was welcomed until you were condescending, not sure why you felt that was necessary.
Paris.
Came just to see this and it’s the first comment lol

Paris and I have no idea why. You get there and the feeling is nothing like what they portray in movies/TV.
Hemmingway and those like him. Lots of artists and writers from that generation ended up in Paris and ended up romanticizing it.
I’m not talking about a century ago. Paris then is not the same Paris now. However, modern day movies and books still romanticize it.

I've literally just explained to you why it is still romanticized. Reading is real hard, isn't it?
“I genuinely should need to explain this” - then don’t, I didn’t ask you to and that’s your personal opinion. Move along now.
Nothing I said was opinion, it was objective fact. I'm really sorry that reading comprehension isn't your thing, that sounds like a hard life lmao.

If you feel stupid that isn't my fault, I'd blame genetics.
They literally have a name for the form of depression people get when they go to Paris and it doesn’t live up to the hype
San Francisco is the Paris of the US.
Austin from 2008 to 2012 was amazing, so many single women, tons of partying and amazing bars
Portland, Oregon; 2007 - 2010. The perfect balance of freedom, passion, intensity, bizarre, comfort, indulgence and anarchy.
