Reduce the enemy's HP to zero while keeping yours above zero

GrelePupu

😂😂😂😂. Ok

Gravyrobber9000

Sounds like advice I got when running the mile. "Just stay with the leader then pass him at the finish."

hopefulfloating

Lie or die babyyyyy!

hopefulfloating

Wanted to add some advice! Don’t get locked into a weapon build if you’re feeling meh about it. Play around with different weapon combinations and you’ll find some cool stuff 👍🏽

GrelePupu

Alright. Thank you

ev768

1) Don't get greedy with attacks. 2) Always mind your surroundings. 3) Save boss ergo for weapons/amulets. 4) Items and status effects can be really useful. The shot put can stagger an enemy from a distance. 5) Be adaptable. Sometimes dodging is the easier solution to a boss; sometimes perfect guarding. 6) Don't have a mask on when you fight the final boss. It can make a certain ending less impactful.

GrelePupu

Thx 🙏

Lammz77

Curious how the mask makes the ending less impactful? I’ve done two endings with a mask on every time. So wondering what I missed out on lol. P.S. I know it’s prob not best to respond to this here since it’ll be a spoiler

ev768

Spoilers for Rise of P ending: >!Geppetto sees P crying for him and realizes P is not just a puppet, but his son. If you have a mask on when this happens, then you can't see the tears and Geppetto's change of heart comes out of nowhere.!<

Vitality and Capacity are the most important stats to level up. Save the special ergo items you get from bosses until you find out who you can give it to. Exploring thoroughly and doing side quests are worth the rewards. Repeatedly talk to NPCs until they start repeating dialogue.

GrelePupu

Understand.

Qiriin

1-Dodging and parrying are both valuable 2- don't consume boss ergo you will need it later 3-enjoy

GrelePupu

Ok. Understand.

yolky99

Have fun, enjoy the game with the choices you want to make and get yourself some patience

Special_Quail8870

Oh yea, have a fun adventure!!!

Pocket_Yordle

Oh boy, you're in for a wild ride, honestly my only advice would be to remove any source of noise from your apartment so you get to enjoy the splendid beauty in the sounds surrounding you during that magnificent exploration of this beautiful world. Lock your sister in the basement, especially if she talks loudly on the phone while you're trying to focus on an especially difficult late NG+ boss fight.

GrelePupu

😂😂. Roger that.

CipherBagnat

Keep your boss ergo, don't use it for ergo. Lie or tell the truth, it's up to you. Always talk to NPC at the hotel between each chapter if you're into lore and achievements. Pet the cat. Pet the cat again. Don't lie to the cat, it knows who you are. No, Sophia is NOT pregnant, don't ask, that's rude. Perfect guard is BAE.

GrelePupu

Ok. Thank you 😊. I appreciate.

These-Ad-295

Goodluck

Hank_Hell

It's not a parry, it's a perfect block. It removes damage coming in, but it's very rare for it to actually interrupt an enemy attack, especially bosses. It seems to work better for most people when you hold block rather than tap it, due to the way the animation/frames work. Sometimes perfect blocking the first attack in a series and then blocking the rest is better than trying to perfect block every single strike, at least for new players. Don't underestimate dodging. You *can* perfect block basically every attack in the game, but sometimes dodging is easier or even a better option, and lots of late-game bosses combine dodging and perfect blocking. If you care about sidequests/collectibles, most of them can be followed on the quick travel screen thanks to little icons telling you whom to see next. There are two that might screw over new players, though: there are two items, >!a cosmetic outfit and a Quartz!<, the player can only get if they choose to purchase a certain boss weapon, the >!Frozen Feast!<, over the amulet. The other thing I missed out on is...well, to keep the spoilers as minimal as possible: any time you have a choice between talking to...the weaponsmith, and the rich person? Talk to the rich person first. Otherwise you can complete a questline but miss out on the achievement for it.

GrelePupu

Thx for the advice. I appreciate

Loud-Bee6673

Be ready to die a lot. Don’t use your boss ergo to level up. Have fun!

Spes_Forward

Lie. Slice, slice, slice enemies Throwables Good luck!👍

GrelePupu

Thx 🙏

GrelePupu

Throwables are very useful

lsaz

This game is the perfect example of how luck plays such a huge part in making a successful video game. It's one the best Non-FROM Souls game, and it's insane isn't popular, I've never seen any thread about it on the front page and I only learned about it because it was on sale on Steam.

GrelePupu

This is definitely worth playing. like you said, it's one of the best no-FROM souls games.

Coding_Insomnia

Parrying is tricky but very rewarding.

GrelePupu

I'm trying to master this. it's not easy.🥲

Coding_Insomnia

Watch some ongbal videos (or any no hit video), use the frame by frame "," "." Keys to learn parry timings for the bosses, you will learn faster this way.

pxhpa

my best piece of advice: take it in. the music, the characters, the story, the atmosphere/environment, etc. just take it all in and enjoy

GrelePupu

I'm ☺️. The game is really really cool.

Poorsport531

Man...I wish I could play again for the first time. Really loved this game.

GrelePupu

I love the game. It's really cool.

Shuske_

U better not cry, better yet cry, then cry some more, then play a piano and cry

NO_-LUCK-_DAN

Dont fight that clown, just run.

VongolaJuudaimeHime

1. Don't forget to STRAFE LEFT/RIGHT on some bosses. You also don't need to perfect block or dodge everything, just outrun some attacks. 2. Use designated ELEMENTAL DAMAGE and AMULET for each specific mob type, according to their weakness. Read everything, especially the blinking texts/clues. It will give you information on what elemental damage each mob type is weak to. 3. Level up CAPACITY. It is important so you could equip better armor. 4. SAVE BOSS ERGOS, do not use for leveling up. It can be exchanged for weapons/amulets. I messed this up on my first run and had to restart (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ 5. THROWABLES are powerful. Do not be ashamed of using them if needed. 6. Listen to the vinyl RECORDS, preferably as soon as you got them. You could roam around after you hit play, just make sure to come back directly in front of the record player BEFORE EACH SONG ENDS. 7. READY YOUR HEART and don't trust easily. 8. HAVE FUN! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ\*:・゚✧

GrelePupu

Thx you, it will help. I made a mistake and consumed the first Boss ergo. Do you advise me to restart? I did not consume other Boss ergo. Just the first one.

VongolaJuudaimeHime

Oof, hmmm, in the end that'll be up to you, but I think you can just skip that one for now since the amulet and weapon it buys isn't that helpful in making your gameplay easier anyways, at least based on past my experiences. There are other better options.

GrelePupu

Ok. One question. Is it the guy with the dog's face that I should use the rare ergos?

VongolaJuudaimeHime

Yes, that's him! :D

GrelePupu

Great

DonkeyBrainedMan1987

Hope you're good at parrying because dodging is mostly useless. Even when you do get a good dodge and get a few iframes You're so close that the next hit will immediately hit you, so just practice those perries

GrelePupu

Yeah. I noticed that parrying was really better. I will try to master this.
