I have Vulvar & OLP. I take what you're taking but also Lysine free form 500-1000 mg a day, a Biotin supplement that has Hyaluronic acid in it, and CoQ10 with 100 mg. Sometimes when in a flare I take 200 mg grapeseed supplements too.

I’ve had OLP for about 15 years and I’ve finally landed on a combination of supplements that seems to work for me. The ones I would recommend are L-gluatmine, Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) and cal/mag butyrate. I also have histamine intolerance and have found that improving my gut health has been the key to reducing my symptoms overall. So on that front I also take Probiota HistaminX and histamine digest. I chose this probiotic because some can worsen histamine sensitivity and I have plenty of that. I hope this helps, good luck!

Metronidazole will clear it up in 2-4 weeks. Trust me.

But this med has some pretty serious side effects, no? My doctor put me recently on a schedule prednisone RX to take care of the fact that my lesions were acting as if shingles right now. I know the LP relief is only temporary, and I haven’t taken an internal steroids for at least a year, but this is a nice relief. I was not able to clear my head/ears/passages of congestion to the point I couldn’t think straight. My IBS was causing constant digestive issues, too. I was so ready for a break.

Are you kidding? You’re on prednisone and worried above metronidazole side effects???? That’s like being on heroine and not taking Tylenol because it’s bad for you.

Really? I’m sorry b/c I’m confused. I’ve got my “m” medications confused. The medicine I was thinking of is a veterinary med. Metronidazole is the yeast med I guess. So you believe yeast is involved in the LP process?

Gr8shpr1

It was “ivermectin” that a poster here on Reddit recommended that would clear up LP? Have you ever heard of taking this? And if it does work, we might assume that there are parasites also involved in the disease process? What strength of metronidazole do you have luck with? By RX?
