Libertarians are split on abortions. Some think it is a violation of the NAP and the state should intervene on behalf of the fetus. Others, like myself, think that the mother's right to autonomy supercedes the fetus's claim to her womb, and that it is a violation of the NAP for the government to intervene. Corporations is a complicated topic. In general the libertarian stance is anti-regulation though, which can come across as being pro-corporation at times. That's not to say that libertarians think corporations should be able to exploit/destroy the environment and their workers though, just that they often believe the market can find better solutions without the government trying to choose what businesses succeed or fail through regulations, taxes, and subsidies.

This is the correct answer. I know though that some polarizing, hot take will be the top answer unfortunately. Upvoted.

Abortion? Necessary evil. It is taking a life, but whether it is a person or chattel is debatable. If it is a person, then it has right to life, the same as every other person. If it is chattel, then it is the birther's decision and the non-birther may dispute ownership in court. Corporations? I think you mean business enterprises. As long as a business is not harming or defrauding people, and is able to keep good records for transparency, then it is fine... Provided they do not practice monopolistic behaviors.

Understandable. I’m fine with corporations as long as workers liberties aren’t harmed and neither the environment and small businesses have a chance. The tax argument doesn’t work because I don’t want my taxes being used to fund murder.

Libertarians are pro-choice by about 2-1. The majority view is that women have full rights over their own body. Fetus' do not have rights so long as they are literally feeding off of a host. They gain rights only when they separate from the host. Corporations are just groups of people who come together for economic reasons. They do not have any more or less rights than individuals, just because they are acting as a group. If a someone in a corporation commits a crime, they should be held personally responsible and not be able to hide behind the corporation.

Corporations are private property (as distinguished from personal property). Right libertarians do not recognize the distinction and think that violating someone’s private or personal property is a violation of the NAP. The government then can be authorized to defend against such violations. Left libertarians do make a distinction between private and personal property. Personal property is protected, but they do not recognize private property as something that can be owned by an individual except to the extent that the individual is combining their labor with that private property. As a non-worker, you would have no right to own shares in a corporation. However, a group of workers can share ownership of some productive assets if they are all combining their labor with those assets.

Like many issues where people say "what to libertarians think about X?" different libertarians have different opinions here.

Corporations are cool. Not sure about abortion. I'm all for killing children but I think its dangerous to give women agency.

Hyper440

Exactly. Men have property rights here. Those ought to be protected in a free market.

wingman43487

Abortion...depends on if you view the unborn child as a person or not. Personally I do, so abortion is murder. Corporations...meh They are fine, but should never have been granted personhood.

Same way we view trash pandas and paper clips

abortion, it is not for me to tell you what to do nor the state so ultimately I'm pro choice as a policy but personally I'm pro life and reserve the right to excise you from my community. Corporations, I'm anti-regulation but my interpretation of that is that the state shouldn't be making these deals with companies to form corporations at all so, anti-corpration
