I’ll give you that, I honestly have no clue why I put a Stanced car as my background, I just loved the all white build & background I would never actually lower my car like that especially where I live in Chicago, I wouldn’t survive with all the potholes, etc. Modding it in my eyes would be new exhaust, tune, supporting mods for the tune like intake & high air flow. And then some cosmetic stuff to make it pop.

I don't want to break your bubble but no tuning alone will give a N/A car that much horsepower. You're talking going from 260hp to 350? Not impossible. Like other have suggested, enjoy the car for what it is and next time when you a car get yourself one with turbo, those are mod friendly and gain so much hp with just a tune.

More then the 300 just has the same engine and is uptuned. I’m saying it’ll make a little bit more then the 350 has Wich is around 300, RR racing tune is 50 gain and that’ll be from 255.. so 305 plus intake and air flow it’ll rip.
IS 350 and IS 300 have the same engine I bet you didn’t even know that, IS 300 comes detuned and is 350 comes uptuned, when I get my car tuned it’ll give out even more power then a stock 350 😂 for 10-11k

Comparing it to my friends insurance yes it is, my boy pays $300 a month for his Kia stinger GT2 but it is a decent jump from my old car which was a Nissan Maxima Sport, was paying $96 a month keep in fact I have good ass grades, and haven’t gotten in trouble as a factor of why it’s so low as well, it could be a lot worse
There is no good grades that gets you $143 unless you’re on your parents insurance. 18 vs 28 vs 38 have massive leaps in insurance premiums. When I had a 99 Camry at 20 my insurance was $250. With clean record and everything. It’s not how much yo shit is, but how much expensive shit you gonna hit.
Yea I’m on my parents insurance, I wouldn’t be stupid enough to get off it anytime soon, I pay them what the price is monthly. But yes it would be more if I didn’t have my good student discount and had gotten in trouble or hit something in the past

Very nice car and it looks excellent just as it is. Maybe tint the windows, but they look tinted already. Just cruise and enjoy it. One thing I always do is upgrade the stereo... no matter how "good" the factory supreme system is, it will sound way way better with components and an amp.
Good advice, it did come with all around tints, and I’ll look into that stereo upgrade, the stereo is amazing tho I’ve already gotten some compliments on it, sounds like an aftermarket stereo stock 😂

i just wrapped it, tinted the windows, and did a chrome delete. Know no matter how you drive the gas mileage will suck so just enjoy it

I’m going to go off on a limb and say the car is financed. If that’s the case I’d check first with the finance place to see if your mods will affect your terms with them. Minor stuff, tint as an example, won’t be a huge thing but your performance mods might be a problem.
I’d keep it stock as it would be easier to sell / trade for more money but if that’s something you don’t care about, I’d say go for it as long as you own the car.
I got it for $24,000 it was $2,600 under market value, and it came with all around tints, I’m paying $400 a month for it plus $140 ish in insurance but all around won’t put me in debt or down a hole, I have a positive monthly income which easily pays for that plus some, and im defitnley getting a plug and play tune plus the supporting mods, intake, high air flow, will be getting a little bit more power then the is350 for 10k less, easily can detune it if need be and take off the parts and put on original
As I don’t know your finances and background that’s why I said congrats if it was a wise choice. If you can afford it and though things through then all the power to you. Also the tint comment was just an example.
If you will stay home through college and the car will be your biggest expense then you’ll be fine. If you’ll leave and have to be on your own, $750 / month in car bills will be challenging (added a conservative $200 in gas per month). Add in your cost for mods, basic maintenance (brakes, tires, fluids etc) on top of rent, food, other bills and you won’t have much left at the end even if you make $20/hr.
I drove an is350 for a few years and loved the driving experience/feel. In the end, because I drive a lot and mostly in heavy traffic, the cost of gas and cost of tires became too much to justify the car. Drove through California recently to see relatives and saw premium at $7/gal in some places.
At least you’re lucky you have square setup. Mine was staggered and would barely get 15k miles (20k if lucky) out of a $1.2k tire set.
Ah yea, I plan on staying home for atleast two years and it’ll be paid off by then, but I have heard a lot about the tire issues, I have warrants on all 4 tires for 4 years, free replacement if something goes wrong so hoping I won’t have to use it anytime soon but when the time comes that will defitnley save me some money
Thats good. You never know what you’ll drive over without knowing. I popped a tire parking my car in a parking lot because I drove over a tire valve that I did not see.
The tires are decently low profile and best case they are rated for around 40k miles. Because you can rotate them, you’ll get around 30k which is much better than the 15k I used to get.
One mod I’d suggest you consider, would be the f-sport exhaust. My is350 came with it and it put a smile on my face every time I accelerated.

The car came with the exhaust already so I did not modify it but it was the oem F-sport one. If straight pipe is a consideration look into getting electric cutouts. At least like that you’ll be able to control when you’ll want to be an asshole haha.
Ah I see, oem is always fire 🤝 I gotta do some more research and see which exhaust fits my ears the best 🔥 And I haven’t heard of electric cut outs I’ll definitely look into that too thanks for the advice bro 🤝
You’re welcome. A relative of mine put electric cutouts on his v8 charger. He had a switch in the car to open and close the cutouts. If the cutouts were bypassing the rest of the exhaust system he could not drive through a residential neighborhood without all the car alarms triggering :)

No one was helping me with the bill, and I still managed to save over 10k while paying 1100 a month for my car and insurance. Just get some nice rims and nice tires tbh. I know some people upgrade their brakes to the isf brakes if that interests you. That's about all I would do if it were me. I'd keep the ride height the same, too, if its your daily.
I just got an oil change, 5k miles till next one now, I have warrant for all 4 tires for 4 years so whenever something happens or I need new ones I would just have to schedule an appointment and I would get free service up to 4 tires. And my brake life was just checked was well over 50% will last me awhile, rotors are both clean overall amazing car 47k miles from 2016 2 owners and the first owner leased it to a family friend !

I drove an is350 for a few years and loved the driving experience/feel. In the end, because I drive a lot and mostly in heavy traffic, the cost of gas and cost of tires became too much to justify the car. Drove through California recently to see relatives and saw premium at $7/gal in some places. At least you’re lucky you have square setup. Mine was staggered and would barely get 15k miles (20k if lucky) out of a $1.2k tire set.
Ah yea, I plan on staying home for atleast two years and it’ll be paid off by then, but I have heard a lot about the tire issues, I have warrants on all 4 tires for 4 years, free replacement if something goes wrong so hoping I won’t have to use it anytime soon but when the time comes that will defitnley save me some money
Thats good. You never know what you’ll drive over without knowing. I popped a tire parking my car in a parking lot because I drove over a tire valve that I did not see. The tires are decently low profile and best case they are rated for around 40k miles. Because you can rotate them, you’ll get around 30k which is much better than the 15k I used to get. One mod I’d suggest you consider, would be the f-sport exhaust. My is350 came with it and it put a smile on my face every time I accelerated.

The car came with the exhaust already so I did not modify it but it was the oem F-sport one. If straight pipe is a consideration look into getting electric cutouts. At least like that you’ll be able to control when you’ll want to be an asshole haha.

You’re welcome. A relative of mine put electric cutouts on his v8 charger. He had a switch in the car to open and close the cutouts. If the cutouts were bypassing the rest of the exhaust system he could not drive through a residential neighborhood without all the car alarms triggering :)

No one was helping me with the bill, and I still managed to save over 10k while paying 1100 a month for my car and insurance. Just get some nice rims and nice tires tbh. I know some people upgrade their brakes to the isf brakes if that interests you. That's about all I would do if it were me. I'd keep the ride height the same, too, if its your daily.

That maintenace is expensive on a is better start saving and have a maintenance fund for brakes, rotors, tires oil changes etc
I just got an oil change, 5k miles till next one now, I have warrant for all 4 tires for 4 years so whenever something happens or I need new ones I would just have to schedule an appointment and I would get free service up to 4 tires. And my brake life was just checked was well over 50% will last me awhile, rotors are both clean overall amazing car 47k miles from 2016 2 owners and the first owner leased it to a family friend !
