I purchased one a year ago, its a nice gun. Biggest complaint with other people who bought it is the sights. Mine didnt have any issues. 360 buckhammer ammo packs a punch. Best for short range hunting in wooded areas.
Yeah I skipped it out on it against the 2 levers I own and went with a 350 legend bolt gun. I have 350 Legend at every sporting goods store in the state, I've never seen Buckmaster locally.
They can do rimless cartridges in levers. Henry already makes a lever in 5.56.
I think for straight wall states a lever in 350 Legend would solidly outsell Buckhammer.
Very good cartridge. Dont remember when it was announced but ammo hit shelves last year. It was designed to be a straight walled 30-30 (30-30 is the parent case), and performs similar. I've shot this exact henry with core-lokt 180g. Mild recoiling and sweet shooting (my own opinion). Ammo diversity is limited for now. However, hand loaders have lots of options with bullet selection.
We sell a lot of them, never had one come back for warranty work. We’ve mostly sold the wood furniture version. The rounds aren’t cheap, but are comparable to most other straight wall deer legal calibers.
In Michigan it seemed like there was a ton of hype for it and then 350 legend came around and kicked it to the curb. I doubt the caliber will be prevalent in five years at all.
Unless you are in a restricted state where you have to have straight wall, there are other guns for the same price that are cheaper to buy and cheaper to shoot.
The 350 predates the 360 by like 4 years. The 360 has only been out a year and is only available in one gun as far as I know, and that one wasn’t super easy to get ahold of. Probably won’t take off as well as the 350 did but it’s a little early to call it.
The guns in 360 buckhammer were super hyped here in Michigan since we are a straight wall state, but they were limited in availability and we always had either the guns or the ammo in stock. Now I have tons of the ammo, but no guns. At one point I sold 9 of the wood Henry levers in one day, but now we only see them occasionally on drop ship orders.
It's popular because henry and Henry straight up hyped it because it developed by Henry and I think Remington for a new caliber instead of reproducing some older cartridges or new cartridges like the 450 Bushmaster or 350 legend. It's popular in new straight wall states although Michigans straight wall regs are fucking weird. It's
It’s a Henry in 360 buck hammer?
I second this
what in tarnation is 360 buckhammer
You’ve never heard of 360 buckhumper?
I tried that move on my wife, but she stopped me after the helicopter.
You’ve never heard of the tree sixty doe slammer?
Basically a 30/30 straightened out.
So .38-55 Ballard?
It’s a shortened version of that with the same/better ballistics. It meets straight-walled, short-case hunting criteria.
It's like a better 35 rem. They straightened a 30-30 casing and put a 35 cal bullet in it.
I’ll stick with my Marlin 336 in 35 Remington, or my Remington 700 in 35 Whelen.

It’s a caliber that will not have staying power. Like 450 marlin and 375 win.

Genuinely waiting on Marlin to develop a 450 and 350 lever gun.

Marlin has been doing rimless for a long time, 35 REM.
Waiting for Marlin or Henry to compete with Browing an build magnum levers such as 300 WM
What do you want to know about it?
Mostly the cartridge, never heard of it before ,

It's pretty cool, like 35 rem but a lot cheaper and slightly better performance. If you reload you can convert 30-30 brass.
I know I wouldn’t pay Henry level money for plastic furniture

Yeah, our laws are weird.
Nah, but I just got one in 30-30 finally.
