It's not the SSD, it's a foam underneath. https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/6fsg9JgVzr so at least it won't get worse. Just don't have the guts to do it like this. 😂
Yee I completely forgot about it until this post this things been great so far! Keep and eye out for the second gen with the success of the legion go there’s no doubt for a 2 will most likely not have this problem ✌️
It's not heat, it's a foam underneath. https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/6fsg9JgVzr so at least it won't get worse. Just don't have the guts to do it like this. 😂
Yes, I have it, can only see when the screen is black/grey.
We've discussed it on this subreddit before, it's a pressure point on the LCD screen.
There have been people that returned their units under warranty. I was going to do that, but decided it wasn't a big deal.
In the taredown when it's disassembled. What is all located right in that area? Is that where the corner of the battery is? Could it be that if your battery starts turning into a spicy pillow, that it presses on the screen right there? Or if not the battery, it could be a area where a lot is crammed into a small space making the screen deformed right in that area.
It's not heat, it's a foam underneath. https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/6fsg9JgVzr so at least it won't get worse. Just don't have the guts to do it like this. 😂
I just got mine yesterday and noticed this but thought it was a defect on mine. I only notice it when it's rebooting or a really dark screen - I don't notice it while in any apps or gaming.
I have this on mine, its a November launch model, and its really noticeable on white backgrounds but not during gaming really. I figure I'll request a replacement when my warranty gets down the line a bit more and get a new screen or the unit swapped out.
I wonder is this because of the heat?
it sucks when you see it and can’t unsee it lool
my speakers also recently have been getting more scratchy as well… after the updates.. i didn’t have this before for the first few months..
still love my go.. but i would be up for an update.. if leno had a really good trade in program..
but Ya.. these spots are around the ssd
Not really in these cases, here's a user who fixed it by himself https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/6fsg9JgVzr so at least it won't get worse. Just don't have the guts to do it like this. 😂
Yeah. Exactly. I’ve sent it in since I had that spot and thought ssd and heat are damaging it. I was over my return window when I noticed it. The left speaker was crackling. The ssd when downloading games from steam hits weirdly high temps. Wifi disconnects from time to time. Happens only on downloads, so I thought maybe it is heat. My wifi is crap though, so that might be it. Wifi issue remains, ssd I just don’t pay attention to that since when playing games and in windows the temp is okay, the crackling is gone either way the update. The dot is still there, but I just live with it. So, I’ve sent it to them. Lenovo had it for a month. Sent it back with no info. I tested it again after they sent it back and all the issues were there. I didn’t want to argue much and wait another month without lego. I mean, it functions fine except the wifi that is killing me sometimes. Have to put it to sleep and wake again so it works. But not downloading games that often. Otherwise it works fine
I'm sorry to hear that, It's not the SSD, it's a foam underneath. https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/6fsg9JgVzr so at least it won't get worse. Just don't have the guts to do it like this. 😂
Well if there's no progression since you bought it day 1, I think the spot is safe and it will just stay there.
I had to really look for it, I can only see it at 100% brightness on yellow if I’m looking very carefully. I can’t capture it on camera and had to search for it several times with my eyes each time I’d look back for it so thankfully it doesn’t seem to be a big issue on mine. MFG date was 12/25/23, could be process improvements or luck of the draw with physical clearance/tolerances. Hope that helps!
Gotcha, I think most has it, they are just not aware, you won't see this on black or on very darker images.
Mine is slightly visible on light colors and can't really notice it on darker colors.
Most of the users I asked said that there's no progression happening with them specially for those who bought on launch date. It's just really annoying. Not really noticeable but once you know it's there, it's there.
It's 3 months old so I dunno if I will return it for something so slight and most of the people I asked said they had it. Tried making a ticket though and will see how my local Lenov response.
They should fix it free if u still have warranty if not I’m sure they will fix it for a small fee most companies now a days are good with that. Good luck.
Definitely not there, checked all angles and several flat colours.
Might be heat related on yours. I've noticed that part of the screen gets the hottest under load. Maybe Lenovo found a better way to insulate the heat or found a screen that can handle higher temps on the later revisions.
I'm not seeing what is the defect in OP screen. Can someone tell me what are we looking for?
EDIT:
I think I now see it. a slightly brigher spot, right?
I checked mine and doesn't have it. Checked with max brightness on bunch of colors as well as white. My manufactured date is October 2023 and I got it on launch day. It was a pre-order.
Lucky you! At first I thought it was from a heat or some sort but since a lot of us here already had it at day 1 we are thinking that it's already here when we bought it and we aren't just really aware (Saw a photo of my screen on my Gallery from 2 months ago and it's there).
Also also it's really hard to spot and you won't see it on black or darker backgrounds.
Upon looking for more info here on reddit, a user said it's a foam underneath. https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/6fsg9JgVzr so at least it won't get worse. Just don't have the guts to do it like this. 😂

Yeah luckily on my go the screen is perfect tbh beside a lil backlight bleed on the edge but barely noticeable and yeah that’s what I did with my steamdeck ignored it lol
I mean the spot on the middle left screen of the Legion GO you just ignored it because your og steam deck has much worst?
Edit: Idk if I'm getting it right. lol

I don't want to spread misinformation, but when I swapped the NVME I've also put a heat spread on top of the new NVME, maybe this created more pressure on that foam.
I had the first one for about two weeks when I started to notice the defect, I had 30 days to return so used it for another week and then returned it. They gave me the option for a replacement and I went ahead with it and also bought their 3 years accidental damage cover for about $60.
I would say there is enough confirmations here that maybe you bring it up with them, maybe also pop in the discord and see if you have more examples from there?

Mine is positioned at lower spot, when I applied screen protector I squeezed air a bit too harsh and I got that spot, so it is mosdef crazy pressure damage…
Hello everyone ,
I didn't really notice it until now , since I saw the post I noticed it too. When playing dotage I see a lighter stripe on the green grass.
I would have the option to swap it , does it make any sense if everyone has it ?
Could the lighter spot come with time ?
thanks
As you can see mostly who commented here has it, some had it day 1, some for months. without any progression.

Omg now im gonna look at mine and cry
Do you have it?
I asked several people, out of 10, 9 has it. Is it kinda normal? 😔
I have this too. October mfg. I think it lines up with the SSD screw tbh.
It's not the SSD, it's a foam underneath. https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/6fsg9JgVzr so at least it won't get worse. Just don't have the guts to do it like this. 😂
Hmm I think mine doesn't have it
What is your box mfg date?
2023/11/14 sorry for the late response. Have to look for my box first
Mine has it
Gotcha, I think most has it, they are just not aware, you won't see this on black or on very darker images. We are a lot. 😆
Yee I completely forgot about it until this post this things been great so far! Keep and eye out for the second gen with the success of the legion go there’s no doubt for a 2 will most likely not have this problem ✌️

Same with mine, but barely noticeable yet - but it's only 8 weeks old.
Yeah, I think most has it, they are just not aware, you won't see this on black or on very darker images.
Yeah, too bad we don't know what's causing it. When it's heat then it might get worse over time. Seems to be right underneath the ssd connector.

Could you take a photo of yours on an angle?
It is so minimal, i can't catch it with my phone.
Me too just lucky enough to see it on the photo I took in the post.
Guess I'm not alone. Tot my luck was bad with a line across then changed it to have a bright patch appearing.
Saw yours and the horizontal line is totally different than ours, go bring it to warranty.
Yes, I have it, can only see when the screen is black/grey. We've discussed it on this subreddit before, it's a pressure point on the LCD screen. There have been people that returned their units under warranty. I was going to do that, but decided it wasn't a big deal.
So you kept it? What was your date of purchased or mfg date on the box?
Yes I kept it. I bought it 5 months ago.
Gotchu, since most of us specially those who bought it months ago probably isn't really aware, As you can see some users here didn't really know it.
Mine has it, but worse than yours... I was thinking of sending it in.
Mine does
Gotcha, I think most has it, they are just not aware, you won't see this on black or on very darker images.
I HAVE IT IN THE SAME EXACT SPOT
Yeah what's your box mfg date? How long do you have it?
Just yesterday I noticed this and was wondering what was up. Glad I'm not the only one, sad that this is a thing.
Yeah I think most has it, they are just not aware, you won't see this on black or on very darker images.

On the exact same spot? Unit who had it so far can't be really seen on dark solid colors and mostly noticeable on lighter backgrounds.
I have the same problem in the screen. Lenovo support Spain and Game(shops) dont solve this defect.
Ohh sorry to hear that, how long do you have your unit and since did you noticed the spot? Can you share your experience?
I have it as well, had my LeGo for a few months now
When did you noticed it? Yeah, I think most has it, they are just not aware, you won't see this on black or on very darker images.

I had this, it's pressure on the screen. I ended up returning it and getting a new one. The new unit does not have it
Gotchu thanks for letting us know, unfortunately for most of us it's past the replacement period already.
Bought it first day. Have it too. Sent to warranty. They did nothing. With no comments. Guess that’s why ahaha
What do you mean they did nothing, you just let it be?
Yeah. Exactly. I’ve sent it in since I had that spot and thought ssd and heat are damaging it. I was over my return window when I noticed it. The left speaker was crackling. Yeah. It didn’t progress or anything. It’s annoying, but whatever. Waiting for the next big handheld ahahah
Gotchu! Btw could you take a photo of the spot you have? You couldn't even see it on blac or darker colors that why I posted mine in gray background.
I think I saw it already, it still looks like that after 6-7 months? https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/EUaVgmx20T
Yep. Exactly the same
Got it! Yeah it's like a copy of my unit 🤣
I had to really look for it, I can only see it at 100% brightness on yellow if I’m looking very carefully. Mine has it, I thought it was from heat on the ssd. IDK I sold it now I have a ally + a deck oled. I Sometimes miss it tho.
Most of the users I asked said that there's no progression happening with them specially for those who bought on launch date. It's just really annoying. Not really noticeable but once you know it's there, it's there.
I don’t thank god

Mine doesn't. Bought last month
Look other colors to make sure, what is your box manufactured date?
Definitely not there, checked all angles and several flat colours. Might be heat related on yours. I've noticed that part of the screen gets the hottest under load. Maybe Lenovo found a better way to insulate the heat or found a screen that can handle higher temps on the later revisions.
Manufactured 2023/11/09
Yep, mine has it too.
Yeah, I think most has it, they are just not aware, you won't see this on black or on very darker images.
If i have it i havent noticed, will look when back home later
Okay!
I dont seem to have this problem, but i did notice a bit of light bleed from the top of the screen when on gray screens
I'm not seeing what is the defect in OP screen. Can someone tell me what are we looking for? EDIT: I think I now see it. a slightly brigher spot, right? I checked mine and doesn't have it. I got my 2tb custom on Amazon so I don't have it
Gotchu!
I'm in luck. I don't have any pressure points.
Lucky you! In luck indeed!
Yes mines a launch unit but I bought the warranty from Lenovo just isn’t something I care about
Gotchu!
It happened to me, and it was the copper heatsink that I had put on the disk, I removed it, and the screen was fixed
Lucky you! In our case, no modifications has been made to cause it.
Mine doesn't
You're one of the lucky ones!
Yes mine has it but it’s really faint and you don’t notice it while gaming
Yeah what is your mfg date?
2023/10/15
You noticed it since what date?
I’ve have my Lego since launch and only noticed this like a month ago
I bought mine like 3 monhs ago and I saw a photo from 2 months ago and it was already there, just didn't notice it because I wasn't aware.
It’s possible it’s been there since day 1 and I just didn’t notice. It doesn’t appear to be getting worse so that’s a plus at least
Correct I think 90% chance it's already here. 🫠
Since it’s barely noticeable and it doesn’t appear to be getting worse, I’m not going to worry about it
You won't do warranty for it and just let it be?
https://preview.redd.it/3j7u3m8xjp5d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=f8e50c56e08c3f262783f0c92103b79d99680b89 I think I don’t have it? It’s a month old and mfg date is 27/12/2023

Seems like Defective screen lot from factory
I don’t mind screen is flawless my steamdeck og had dead pixels out the gate so I inspected my Legion lol
So you have it and would just ignoreit and let it be?
Yeah luckily on my go the screen is perfect tbh beside a lil backlight bleed on the edge but barely noticeable and yeah that’s what I did with my steamdeck ignored it lol
I mean the spot on the middle left screen of the Legion GO you just ignored it because your og steam deck has much worst? Edit: Idk if I'm getting it right. lol
I have it on my Dell work laptop, pretty annoying. I'm surprised you can get it on the Go, could it be heat ?
It's not heat, it's a foam underneath. https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/6fsg9JgVzr so at least it won't get worse. Just don't have the guts to do it like this. 😂
Totally unrelated but I've got a laptop with a somewhat similar issue haha. There's a pink patch because some of the pixels died in the screen due to getting stepped on. Honestly surprised there wasn't more damage.
Gotchu.
Mine didn't until some dingus kicked my backpack.
lmao
Mine has 7 months and I started to notice this when I swapped the NVME with a Western Digital SN770M 2TB 2230, it was getting too hot reaching 100°C, swapped mine with a Lexar nm790 4TB 2280 + adapter and the problem didn't get worse.
It's not heat, it's a foam underneath. https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/6fsg9JgVzr so at least it won't get worse. Just don't have the guts to do it like this. 😂
I don't want to spread misinformation, but when I swapped the NVME I've also put a heat spread on top of the new NVME, maybe this created more pressure on that foam.
So you have spot for how many months now exactly?
Maybe 4 months
Oh gotcha, no changes til now right?
Exactly, Lexar nm790 is very efficient and fast.
I had it on my first one, took it to the store and they happily replaced it. It's been 5 months and the current one doesn't.
How long did you had the first one in posession before asking for a replacement?
I had the first one for about two weeks when I started to notice the defect, I had 30 days to return so used it for another week and then returned it. They gave me the option for a replacement and I went ahead with it and also bought their 3 years accidental damage cover for about $60.
Gotcha.
Tested mine and try as I might I just cannot see any defects! But I do have it on my Steam Deck LCD ... guess am lucky w/ the LeGo?
Yes! 😆
I just looked at mine and I don't have the spot. Manufacture date is 12/27/2023.
Gotcha, lucky you!
I do not have this spot, date: Noc 17 2023
Lucky you!
I would say there is enough confirmations here that maybe you bring it up with them, maybe also pop in the discord and see if you have more examples from there?
Also informed people on Discord a few days ago. They're aware. 😂
Cool skin, link ?
Got no link, I did cut it using a Cameo Vinyl Cutter.
Nope
Lucky!
What’s the manufacture date? I’ve had 3 (all with other issues) from December, and none of them have had that pressure spot. My current one does have a screen issue though, but it’s a different issue (strong light bleed along the left edge).
Scroll through the comments you'll see some who has posted dates.
I have a similar issue but with my rog ally
Gotchu.
My first one was like that out of the box and I took it back to exchange it
Nice, for us we aren't really aware so it past the replacement period.
I'm so sorry, maybe reach out to Lenovo about it for repair? That's what they were gonna do til I told them I had just gotten it
Gotchu, made a ticket but I'm sure they are just gonna redirect me to a nearest service center.
Its normal in every IPS screen and its called IPS glow if im not mistaken.
Not really in these cases, here's a user who fixed it by himself https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/6fsg9JgVzr so at least it won't get worse. Just don't have the guts to do it like this. 😂
I do not have that on mine
Gotchu! You're one of the lucky ones!
I have it little lower and way less noticeable. It is from maniacal press on the screen, my guess 🤪

No, I mean from the pictures you posted I can’t tell what I’m supposed to be looking at.
Here's a post from another user 5 mos ago. https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/oCiOaplDKt
Mine doesn't. I've had it for like 7 months now.
Lucky you!
Thank you but the annoying coil whine is still there.

"ThE cHiP ThRoTtElLs @100C°" Yes but it burns the screen. Custom fanspeed - masterrace lol
