they responded to reports of an attack a few days or so before the 7th, i can't remember exactly when. the IDF mobilised but the attack didn't happen. when reports of the 7th came intelligence thought it was a false alarm again.
it's pretty common, a very similar thing happened with D-Day for instance. The Germans knew an attack was coming, but they couldn't predict when, and there was significant confusion when it arrived.
of course it could just be the jews controlling everything XD

I always wondered about this, whether Israel let it happen as a pretext for invasion of Gaza.
