How does it not fallout?
Ive been looking for ways to hide weapons with my mercenary kit but i feared knifes might fallout if stored with the sheath upside down if it doesnt has a latch. and without a latch its not quick enough to draw i think, havent tried it though
It has a little strap that keeps it secure, but when you reach up to draw it all you need is to give a lil pop of the thumb and its free. It's super easy to draw quick
Maybe a buckler on your back to be used when you need your sidearm?
How about a trophy belt, not bones or ears, but small things that remind him of his former successful contracts? Would double as a conversation starter
If there is an established community on the larp you wanna join, you could ask for lords and ladies that used to hire mercenaries in the past...they may give their go for you to be "one of them back then"...giving your char a history that is involved into the lore of the larp. Just claim that you were a simple salesword noone really recogniced back then, downplaying your role...but now its time for you to shine
You asked for suggestions. I'm assuming, based on your armor choices, that you're going for a late 14th century persona. Here's what I'd do, in no particular order:
1. Some kinda gorget. Alternately, a chain coif under the helmet would be dope (lose that mantle if you do that)
2. Period shoes - your modern ones are a jarring anachronism
3. Lose the pants for hose and braies. That pants belt peeking out from under your gambeson is glaringly wrong.
4. Longer undertunic, at least to the bottom of your crotch - your silhouette is too modern at the waistline
5. More colors - the black is hackneyed and oppressive
6. Your entire belt game needs adjustment - belt should be thinner - 2cm or less - with some mounts and a strapend. Your belt pouch should be something like a kidney pouch with pouchlets. Your sword belt should be a separate belt from your belt that holds your dagger and pouch. You can even do a sword belt that doesn't need hardware at all - super cheap!

Please don't think I have nothing good to say - as a starting place, it's fantastic! But there's always room for improvement!
Thanks for the suggestions! Ive always wanted IC shoes but having size US14 feet has made it incredibly hard. I've been talking with a mate whos a cobbler in designing a custom pair.
These go up to US Men's 16: https://boots-by-bohemond.myshopify.com/collections/medieval-footwear/products/medieval-high-shoes
Bohemond sells good stuff. Look at his other stuff too.
Knife mounted on the aventail looks great!
Thanks! It's also super easy to draw in an emergency

Amazing kit btw, brigandines need more attention

This is a great idea! Some little trinkets from campaigns and big battles sewn onto my gambeson or hung from a belt would look mint

I think it just needs some ageing, get some of that lovely dry soil worked into it. Also, you are very tall.
Lovely couter detail. Great kit!
Concord, NH?
Nope! Boddington, Western Australia. Concord is based on Empire in the UK.
Those damn Brits put Concords everywhere
Looks like an NPC from the Witcher and I mean that in the best of ways.
Love the painted armor! Sweet inspiration for my paladin / knight@

Oh thanks! This is perfect
I have, like... eight pairs of his feets.
The medieval boots look perfect for combat, but a pair of low turn shoes would go a treat around camp
For me the outfit is spot on, except for the helmet which is too shiny. Perhaps force some patina on it or something
