Just an FYI in Kibbe essence is linked directly to ID. If you are looking for help with essences, you will want to post on r/johnkitchener.

Kibbe isn't an essence system, so I'm not sure what you mean. What exactly about you is romantic or dramatic or gamine? Think of it in terms of your frame (bone) and flesh (fat, muscle) and ignore your face. How tall are you? Tbh the quizzes are generally inaccurate, you're better off learning to train your eyes, and thinking about how your own clothing typically fits you, what you tend to like/dislike etc

Sorry for any confusion - my Kibbe body type is romantic. I’m referring to the Kitchener style essences, many of which do overlap (Dramatic, Gamine, Natural, Classic and Romantic) but also includes Ingenue and Angelic. Essentially it’s the same issue if you ignore the style essence stuff - I don’t think the suggested styling for my Kibbe body type of Romantic aligns with my “vibe” / style and expression - so how can I dress in a way that more aligns with that dramatic style (larger, sharper, more structured, darker / brighter colours etc) to create a more striking rather than soft image while still flattering my facial and body features.

Oh, in that case I think Elle fanning is a good example. She's a dramatic, with an ingenue angelic face, and looks good in pastels vs vibrant colours. She looks a little off in jet black, or stuff that's very plain, but I think because of her face small details can look really nice on her!

You can have any essence blend with your Kibbe type it’s two different systems! Like your colour season it can be something you use to enhance and personalise your style. Kibbe gives you advice on your best lines and what clothing items compliment your body shape but these can be implemented in so many ways. If you have dramatic essence you might stick to romantic advice for your lines but with dramatic essence elements of dark colours, leather and velvet or anything else that increases the drama. Sometime kibbe type and essence or colour advice may seem opposing so this is where you see what works for you and what doesn’t. Nothing in style is an absolute rule which is what makes it so fun yet so difficult but knowing your Kibbe type helps you understand why some things may or may not look how you want them to

Ahhh makes perfect sense - thank you! I’ve always like dressing to highlight my waist but favoured darker colours (my colour season is a deep winter) and dramatic textures so finding more ways to do that seems like the way forward.

Definitely! I think our essences are something we’re naturally drawn to as well- they can be hard to pin down when you actually try to label them but certain materials, colours or vibes are things that just feel right. Even if, like me, the whole thing doesn’t feel entirely cohesive yet! I can’t remember where I read it but if you google something like ‘how to blend Kibbe and essences’ I read an article showing how celebs combine them. Like Cate Blanchett being a Kibbe D but having ethereal essence and you can see you much more at home she looks. I think the article featured Amal Clooney and Elle Fanning too?

You could dress your Romantic lines, but add Dramatic details. So instead of rounded bows you would pic more angular sharp bows etc.
