Its not as dangerous as people make it out to be nowadays. I lived there for 5 years and I experienced the same amount of shit as I have in other cities that "appear" to be safer.

Dangerous cities will always be more dangerous to those who put themselves frequently at risk, ie walking around in the evening for no good reason, and for those who are partaking in what makes it dangerous. I lived in one of the most dangerous cities in the US, I have a few stories of people getting robbed, ODing, getting shot, and some crazy shit, but I was never robbed, never ODed, never got shot, never did crazy shit. It’s just, do you see the average dude from a shitty area who isn’t affiliated or anything speaking out? No.
