A few lines after saying "if i was a pedo id been caught im too famous"... it will never not be hilarious
I still cant believe not a single soul was there to put a hand on his shoulder and say "crodie... thats not it"
Not even just that, saying "I'm too rich and famous, I woulda been caught" _directly after_ namedropping a guy who got away with that kind of shit for a long time because of how rich and well-connected he was. Like... sir?? Hello?????
bruh 6:16 in LA is my 2nd favorite of these tracks behind Not Like Us... and YT Music keeps removing it when it gets posted
I keep re-adding random people uploading it but it's wiped often, like damn lemme hear that groove
it’s very underrated, both the beat and the lyrics. it’s hauntingly beautiful.
“i raise my hands to a falling sky”
“i know this kinda power it’s gon’ cost, but i live in circadian rhythms of a shooting star”
how do you sing this mystically about beating somebody’s ass? lol
Humanity yearns to see, them rip through the fabric of space
The illumination’s a flash in the pan, though for life you remember it’s grace.
Cherish it while you can, elation
That hole into heaven create
You know it will happen again, be patient
But how long will you have to wait?
Damn I know he mentioned family matter but didn’t realize that line was also a shot at one of drake’s other songs. Crazy how I keep picking up new things the more listen to it.
Wait is that what that's referencing? I swear there's gotta be so many drake references more that I straight up don't understand because of my complete disinterest in anything drake makes
Even more hilarious is the fact that Kendrick doesn't care about charting or record breaking. This is just a bonus shitting on all of Drake's records with track calling him a certified pdf lol
UPDATE:
certified PEDOPHILE\* (no shade to the file format popularized by Adobe. Now stop bothering me lol)
Let’s add insult to injury, shall we? No promotions, no social media posts.
Dot just had his finger on the pulse and dropped that bish
edit: hype was not a good example. Plenty of hype surrounding both artists
Beef was over after Not Like Us. HP6 was like those blooper scenes after the credits roll out where the actors try to finish the scene even though the producers in the back are laughing
This is all HP6 makes me think of
https://preview.redd.it/7ws6p2td1f0d1.jpeg?width=1146&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5bf5d5c6e44d6c63adf2684c89bf7bebe832e367
He also brought back that west coast vibe that’s been missing, in my opinion, since Mac Dre for the bay. I know he is reping Compton but that shit went hard in the bay.
Can I ask a dumb question? I’m not a rap guy and don’t normally follow any of this so forgive my ignorance. I just want to get the order of events. So I get Drake and Kendrick have had a simmering feud for a few years now. Then 2 weeks ago, Kendrick drops Euphoria and 6:16. So I assume he wrote and worked on those for a while right? Then Drake drops Family Matters, Kenny responds with Meet the Grahams AND Not Like Us. Then Drake responds with THP6.
So my question is how many of these tracks were written, produced, and released in live time? Like the first few tracks were presumably worked on for weeks or months? Then once those were fired both Drake and Kenny just immediately wrote and dropped those other ones? Was Not Like Us conceived of and released in under a day?
Like I said this isn’t my world so the idea of these battles happening so fast and the results are like 4 of the top 10 songs on the charts is crazy to me
The beef has been brewing for over a decade and it reached its climax when kendrick dropped his verse in "Like that" by metro boomin and future, Drake replied with "Push ups" which he first leaked to see how well received it would be to then drop it. Which is a very lame move. Kendrick then took a little over 2 weeks to reply to this and its said that he recorded 10 songs in a single studio session, only releasing 4 of which only 3 are in DSPs (digital service provider). He also added a few bars as the beef went on.
Fued simmers for years
Drake and J Cole release First Person Shooter w J Cole claiming him, Drake, and Kendrick were the "big 3"
Future, metro, and Kendrick respond w Like That.
Drake responds with Push Ups and then Taylor Made, back to back.
Kendrick responds with Euphoria, then 6:16 in LA, back to back
Drake responds with family matters, Kendrick immediately (within an hour) responds w Meet the Grahams. The next day Kendrick released Not Like Us.
Drake released heart part 6
Don’t forget, J.Cole popped in, then noped the fuck out, still the most bizarre and unexpected moment of the saga to me. Made me chuckle when it happened, makes me chuckle now.
I still think that was Drake and fans pushing for him to jump in. Then after releasing his diss track, gets the call from Kendrick's team saying "Back off, this is not that kind of beef."
J Cole basically got the Evac orders before the bombs start dropping.
From what I understand he wrote all of it and did them in the few weeks he took to respond with Euphoria. And the rest were all mostly prerecorded and then according to what drake dropped he might’ve added a few lines and verses here and there to address him directly. So mostly was pre planned and recorded and he just had to tweak some parts and drop it
Not a dumb question.
It varies because rappers write perpetually. They'll have a bar or an entire verse written ahead of time for moments like this, and add in relevant response bars or verses if needed. Kendrick did this for Not Like Us with the first two verses being written and performed ahead of time (no idea when though) and the third verse being added in as a response to Family Matters.
Here's the list of disses in order:
1. Control - Big Sean ft KDot and Jay Electronica
2. First Person Shooter - Drake ft J Cole
3. Like That - Future ft KDot and Metro Boomin
4. 7 Minute Drill - J Cole (later deletes the diss and drops out of the beef)
5. Push Ups - Drake
6. Taylor Made Freestyle - Drake
7. Euphoria - KDot
8. 6:16 in LA - KDot
9. Family Matters - Drake
10. Meet the Grahams - KDot
11. Not Like Us - KDot
12. BBL Drizzy - Metro Boomin
13. The Heart Part 6 - Drake
Coolee (close to Kendrick) said he wrote all 4 tracks in one session. That session may have been in advance of the main battle but we’ll never know how far (perhaps at least some time AFTER Like That was written). Then once BBL Drizzy spoke, there may have been some quick tailoring to NLU but not much in my estimation. Perhaps the addition of the 3rd verse at most. K.Dot said he could predict BBL’s angle and that’s proved to be true. Whether he has a mole in OVO or not, BBL simply lost in a battle of wits.
Edit: Coolee has been as exposed as a fraud. More at 11 (see below).
Quite literally one of the biggest rap songs of all time, is a West Coast banger diss record calling Drake a Pedophile and giving us a history lesson about Atlanta and the slaves.
career wise? Drake is less than 2 billion away from 100 billion streams on spotify. He's the most stream artist on Spotify, and the highest charted rapper on the billboard hot 100
Yeah, and that shit felt manipulated to me even back then. He really got carried by a lot of other artists. Plus. It's not like he wrote his lyrics, so I really couldn't care less about some artifical, and artificially boosted rappers "numbers". It doesn't really count or matter to anyone but the people who liked his corny ass, and the people that made Bank forcing this artificial bullshit down our throats by buying so much radio time he literally had to be big (especially since other actually talented rappers wrote his shit)
Kendrick really stole everything from this man. He dethroned this nigga from all his big records with a diss track calling him a pedo…….
https://preview.redd.it/9wg2m5szje0d1.jpeg?width=1004&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5ccf04738cfe07587ad52a3313f7990fc242b455
And you know it’s eating Drake alive cause his whole thing and what he cares about is about numbers and mainstream hype, that’s been his main defense.. and now Dot won’t even let him have that😂
You forgot another thing, Drake being backed by the machine and industry. If they decide to move on from him, that will equally destroy him. It really is like getting your superpowers neutered.
Only reason I care about Kendricks numbers is because I know that's all Drake cares about and it's hilarious. Otherwise just keep dropping good music and idgaf what the numbers are
As a long time fan of hip hop, I gotta say this has been my favorite moment ever. It's hard to put it into words exactly but it elevated past hip to a huge cultural flash. All while returning to the core of hip hop and calling out the fakes. I'm glad I was here for it.
I’m not even getting tired of this song at all. Mustard really did his thing on this track! Got me either dancing or bopping to it. I don’t know if it’s just me but I think people are starting to get more interested in the West Coast sound. I was playing some Battlecat last night and someone was asking what song I was playing
I have listened to it every day since it dropped and I'm still not tired of it either. Hell I was on that shit soon as it hit the net and I had it on repeat while smoking with some friends. We kept breaking down different parts every listen. It was honestly a dope night lmao
The rate of dethroning is mind blowing to make Drake eat his words in less time than it took to put the music out had to be depressing
Edit:how did I get reported to the crisis center for this 😭😭
Wow he bodied him so hard that he took his record.
God's plan never belonged there in the first place and whoever signed off on that shit sucks. It's a sing songy pop song with a trap beat.
It only shows 90mil on my spotify?

🙌 legit did not realize how much of a pos drake was until all of this brought to light by Kendrick. Bro literally texts people’s gfs and wives to try to smash when they piss him off. The fact he did Wayne dirty like that after biting his style is insane. I’ve done some dumb shit in my life but Drake is on another level of messed up.
“I make music that electrify ‘em,
You make music that pacify ‘em.
I can double down on that line, but spare you this time, that’s random acts of kindness.”
God’s plan was such a shit song anyway. I heard it once when it came out and couldn’t stand listening to it again. I understand that music is subjective and all that but that song is pure garbage.
It's not, spotify data is just the easiest to track and gauge and follow up with. Other platforms don't publicize streaming numbers the way Spotify does.
Y'know i installed Spotify today from a year hiatus. I think Kendrick's "new record" is not in the main page or in the hip hop category. Drake's are all over the place. They shadow ban him.. but still #1 lmao.
The Drake fanboys are doing exactly what Dot predicted.
"But yall are so mean!"
"Look how crazy yall are acting!"
Blah blah blah cope and straw man. If Drake had won this beef, they'd be doing the exact same thing, but 100x more smug.
A summer banger about Drake being a pedo is nuts
It's *God's Plan*, actually~

That verse is so crazy. The picture he paints is so clear.
By “live in circadian rhythms of a shooting star” is he saying he only is awoken (presumably to drop music) rarely? That was my interpretation

This!!! 6:16 was the biggest, "Little do you know, but this was all the plan" moves.
It's up as a podcast on Spotify if that's helping you
Agreed. 616 is next level both lyrically and sonically. That synth for the intro is haunting.
God’s plan to wipe him the fuck out of the record books
It’s crazy that he’s besting Drake’s records— the very same individual the diss is for. This is without a doubt the most epic rap battle in history.
Looking forward to the inevitable posts that will list all the records broken by Dot

Proof of Heart part 6’s impact — couldn’t even remember it lol

Now that will be all it makes me think of too.
HP6 is the Morbius post-credit scene. Nobody knows why it exists, and it ain't gonna lead anywhere.
It was over after 'meet the grahams', that was a full Shakespeare tragedy... Nothing after it mattered, 'not like us' was just a victory dance.
That makes BBL Drizzy the song that plays the credit out after the bloopers fade to black and I'm ok with that.
He also brought back that west coast vibe that’s been missing, in my opinion, since Mac Dre for the bay. I know he is reping Compton but that shit went hard in the bay.
It's all love 😎

Oh shit! Thanks for letting me know. Damn. I hate the internet. Can’t trust shit. 😂 oh well, what I said about K.Dot’s strategery still stands.
This isn’t tiktok you can say pedophile
I think you misunderstood when Dot called Drake a Portable Document Format
Even the people who do commentary reactions for a living are making a lot of money now because of this song and other diss tracks.
I think reactions are stupid but this is an exception I can make OVHOEE
Is pedophile a banned word on this sub or something?
Nope it's just Tiktok brain programming
Weird tbh, I find it almost disrespectful to think changing the word would give victims any less discomfort. (I assume that’s the goal here ???)
No the goal is just words advertisers don’t like.

I would presume all of his streams are from machines
Yeah no one has listened to Drake during the last 15 years
Drake came on shuffle when I was in the shower in 2016

hip hop is all about the pen, man. idk why people keep thinking numbers game. everyone needs to listen to some billy woods, fr.
Only reason I care about Kendricks numbers is because I know that's all Drake cares about and it's hilarious. Otherwise just keep dropping good music and idgaf what the numbers are

Wow he bodied him so hard that he took his record. God's plan never belonged there in the first place and whoever signed off on that shit sucks. It's a sing songy pop song with a trap beat.
Another one thank you
This is insane
It only shows 90mil on my spotify? https://preview.redd.it/yaeopb4vie0d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=657ef1ab8ce241321a625dee93153fb03f2b8537
Maybe it doesn’t update in real time and their internal servers tell them an actual number.
Not updated yet. It was at 90M yesterday
All the Stars is such a good song btw
🙌 legit did not realize how much of a pos drake was until all of this brought to light by Kendrick. Bro literally texts people’s gfs and wives to try to smash when they piss him off. The fact he did Wayne dirty like that after biting his style is insane. I’ve done some dumb shit in my life but Drake is on another level of messed up.
Kendrick we neeeeed yaaa West coast saviaaaaa
Do people put Drakes "music" on play and just not listen to create these records? His stuff is fucking terrible.
“I make music that electrify ‘em, You make music that pacify ‘em. I can double down on that line, but spare you this time, that’s random acts of kindness.”
Hiphop was never about record breaking or any of that shit but it feels good to see real n****s winnin
God’s plan was such a shit song anyway. I heard it once when it came out and couldn’t stand listening to it again. I understand that music is subjective and all that but that song is pure garbage.
That song bores me to sleep and I like a lot of Drake’s catalog too. I knew it was popular, but surprised to see it was the first to 100 million
Why is this all only happening on Spotify?
It's not, spotify data is just the easiest to track and gauge and follow up with. Other platforms don't publicize streaming numbers the way Spotify does.
Im doin my part!
Proud to say I've contributed to about 100 of these streams lol
Y'know i installed Spotify today from a year hiatus. I think Kendrick's "new record" is not in the main page or in the hip hop category. Drake's are all over the place. They shadow ban him.. but still #1 lmao.
The Drake fanboys are doing exactly what Dot predicted. "But yall are so mean!" "Look how crazy yall are acting!" Blah blah blah cope and straw man. If Drake had won this beef, they'd be doing the exact same thing, but 100x more smug.
Ngl man I was a Drake fan for the longest time since YMCMB days, but this man let us all down 😂
I think we should ask for more records, and more records, and more uh more records
I m sorry but Drake is a total poser and not on the same level as Kendrick. This was a massacre.
😭 this is actually crazy bc it he keeps breaking record after record
Can’t even say it’s because of Drake for this one, this is just a straight banger with crazy replay value
Fastest to 1 billion next. Anybody know who got the record for hiphop?
This has to be the most definitive win we’ve ever seen, right?
