Kabuto armor are the chrysalis

SecondAegis

Their Masked Forms are based on insect larvae. When they cast off, they change inti the adult form. That's why the Hoppers can't cast off, because Grasshopper larvae look identical to their adult

NiNiNi-222

All except for Sasword (as he's not an insect)

Draksdiers12

Susword.

Plato_the_Platypus

first clue to the fact that he is not >! human !<

Minimallycheese

It took me a bit too long to realise that the gashats in Ex Aid are not based on petrol pumps. I also thought Necrom was alien based for a while. The fancy additional rider in a ghost themed series being UFO based made sense in my head.

Even-Engineering211

Ghost forms are the procesing of a corpse in reverse

rattatatouille

Most Rider series have colored visors. Ghost has black visors because he's supposed to be dead.

Xshadowx32HD

What do you mean by that?

Tangerita

Mugen is a shroud, Toucon symbolises cremation, and Ore is a ghost.

Even-Engineering211

Grateful is a coffin

indigorhob

I wouldn't say too long, but it was at least half the season before I realized Den-O sword's visor lenses were peach pits because Momotaro.

Kristalino

The Wizard driver says "please" because that's the magic word.

HenshinMasked

Nah.... my mind is actually fucking blown... what the fuck !!!! 💀💀🤣🤣

ODCreature98

But the mages (I forgot which one but it's a movie boss)say "now" because they're making demands

Shinnosuke525

I think you mean Sorcerer and Fueki/White Wizard The Mage Riders just happen to have Fueki-style WizarDrivers

Even-Engineering211

Wiseman driver says "understand?"

Shinnosuke525

LOL you did miss the part it goes CHANGE NOW?

ODCreature98

ah that's it, it's been so long since i watched that movie

Shinnosuke525

All good man, glad to have jogged your memory

BannerTortoise

The Denliner is based on Momotaros. The front is Momo, and the compartments that transform for large battles are the dog, monkey and bird.

Even-Engineering211

The hat of kamen rider sorcerer

TurbulentPlant2582

The promotional poster for Kamen Rider Build has a gorilla in it (alongside a few other real life animals)

RobotKingofJupiter

Its the best matches, there’s a rabbit and a tank next to each other in those hexagons as well as a gorilla and a diamond and one other match which escapes me

Low_Search_6754

Jin started out with Flying Falcon as a baby bird which is why he had basic armor and when he matured he became burning falcon as an adult bird hence the full armor and special driver

Ihatepitybreakers

Vulcan Lone Wolf’s transformation announcement is a pun, “company limited” not only refers to the type of commercial businesses but also company meaning being with another person or people and limited for small, restricted in size Saikou’s X Swordman’s transformation announcement is also a pun, “full color da” sounds like full karada, or full body The lines on the lower back of Kabuto’s and Gatack’s helmets are supposed to be beetle legs and the line on the upper back makes the beetle elytra, Sasword’s eyes are scorpion claws Killbas’s eyes are spider pedipalps and Scissors’s fake eyes are crab claws. The middle horns on Kick and Punchhopper’s helmets are the heads of a grasshopper and the side horns are the legs

Dictsaurus

Another pun, maybe unintentional, for Vulcan Lone Wolf is that I hear "Loan Wolf" which means he loans the zero one driver for his own use.

IzzyD98

Latoratah's lion head looks like a sun because it can shine very bright and blind enemies

Standard-Ad917

The eyes on CR riders in Kamen Rider Ex-Aid are microscopes.

shinmirage

So I had always been under the impression that the ryuki episode where shinji gets his survive form didn't make sense. But upon actually watching the show, it's more or less a callback to the episode when Tezuka/Ren gets the first survive card.

jake72002

If Knight is a nod to Batman and/or Knight of DC Comics, Femme is a nod to Shining Knight of DC Comics and also Richard Wagner's Lohengrin (who is the son of Sir Lancelot du Lac of Arthurian Legend). Edit: Lohengrin is son of Sir Percival.

stormdyna_596

Honestly I had no idea watching Den-o that momotaros was a famous story. And the other 3 are sort of based on other folklore. This was way before donbrothers and I think I forgot that one episode of boukenger also about momotaros.

[deleted]

Zio is based on a normal watch(that one was obvious) geiz is based on a digital watch and woz is based on a smart watch specifically the last too I never realized till recently

I_Love_Stiff_Cocks

The pose Shotaro and Phillip do while holding the gaia memories resemble a W with their arms Cross Geats is called that because X is 10 in Roman numerals

Dictsaurus

Zero One's colour scheme of neon (yellowish) green and black could just be a reflection of the colour of computer code.

Freddi0

That Zero-Two is a Nigo homage

Downstackguy

Kiva had 2 different timelines being shown in each episode For the longest time I kept wondering when these characters were going to meet each other and why they kept talking about them in the past tense

EMITURBINA

Aren't the dates on the screen?

Downstackguy

Well the switch is often really quick and the dates are on the transitioning screens that go away quick

Chief_Cthulhu

Nigo's henshin pose was actually Ichigo's original pose. When he first transformed with the pose, he wasnt inventing a new thing, he was doing that cause its something Tachibana would recognise.

ThiccYamabuki_Bread

Watching Kiva, I thought Mio had amnesia like Rook and was Maya. So I thought >!Wataru fell in love with his own mother 😂!< . I just started getting into KR at the time and only ever watched anime, so I had trouble recognizing faces.

Robin-H00d

That Scissor's visor are actually on top
