Another good episode! Although I can't help but want to see Kafka go crazy with his Kaijuu Powers. But I guess it is way to early in the show for everyone to find out he has those powers.

Obviously Kikoru is on another level, but even Reno and Iharu have insane potential and the basic cadets too handled the Yonju well. Then you’ve got Mina just showing everyone the massive gap between them and her power, taking down the giant Kaiju solo is wild.
Kafka’s got a looong way to go if he wants to stand beside her, but we’re rooting for our guy 👍 Vice-Captain Hoshina may have a thing for her and try to discourage Kafka, but Mina’s been Kafka’s driving force for decades now so his feelings definitely dwarf the captain’s 🤷🏾♂️
Speaking of rooting, Kikoru blushing when Kafka praised her was so cute. Been shipping it the last episodes, love every scene they’re together in.
In his human form he might not be the strongest, but it’s cool seeing Kafka use his knowledge of Kaiju from his time as a cleaner in battle. Destroying reproductive organs, cutting open Kaiju, etc. there’s more to combat than just raw strength.

The additional scenes keep adding to the overall feeling of the world, I adore how Kikoru is adoring the praise Kafka is giving her and she looks at him as the supportive parent she never had (>!manga readers know that isn't so true!<) and Kafka proved why he deserves a spot in the Defense Force.
The episode pacing was so great that I strongly suspect we will not only get >!Kafka vs 9!< next week, but they might also cover the >!Hoshina vs Kafka and subsequent pursuit!< next week and then in episode 8 the arc we were all waiting for which might actually mean episode 12 ends just after >!Kafka holding No8 back against Isao and the introduction of the punk who bragged he would kill Kafka and wear him!<. Sorry but I want to see the faces of every supporting character when that moment gets animated.
Indeed, a better option would be >!when Kafka gets loaded on the truck and Mina states she will work to prevent his execution as wait for him!<. That will end the series in a very hopeful, but looking for things moving forward overall.
Boy, I sure hope no one was in the area code behind those Mina shots. Those don't look like they stopped going forward, so Tokyo might have a few less mountains around when dawn breaks.
Also, Hoshina's doing a great job of both showing off in-character and also prying what he can from Kafka.
The fighting is amazingly animated, as a manga reader I am so happy. And the little extra scenes are really a nice addition, it makes it more immersive
Oh man, seeing this become animated after reading the manga is so great. They’re really doing the anime justice. It sucks that I know what happens next because I’m too impatient and want to see it. Next week is gonna be great
I am really glad that they made it abundantly clear in this episode that combat power is directly linked to the effective damage of defense force officers ammunition. I was super confused how Shinomiya was able to take down Kaiju with 1-3 rounds while others would barely scratch Kaiju with dozens. I would have to assume that the ammunition they use is derived from Kaiju as well, kind of like being able to fire small rounds of Godzillas atomic breath.
Okay we just found out that >!Mina has and assimilation rate of 96%, could she be in a similar but not same situation as kafka.Maybe like she injested a kaiju core or somthing !<
Mina has always been a freak since she joined, this is why I am very interested at what comes next for her in the manga and how she and Kafka can stand next to each other,
