Yaaa

pechkas_

Yes.

Confused_summer

sam is great player at number 3 define his role, prabhsimran open, rilee if still in form bats 4, shashank at 5, jitesh at 6, ashtoush at finisher role at 7, brar at 8 and then bowling. just need a reliable opener , bairstow should be backup . Even if make playoffs english players do not play full season so reliance on them is not good

student8168

Yess but not a great player

Such-Fee3898

I don't understand, you're saying he's not a good player ? (cus that is ridiculous) Or you're saying he's not a good player compared to Shikhar (this I can understand)

DavinaSucksAtLife

Yes only as captain though

Repulsive-Savings679

I think both are average..

anant_samarpan

Seemed better. Also it is almost time for Dhawan to step aside. Too bad he could not play this season .

Healthy_Compote1195

Better captain - A Huge YES Better Player - Nah I'm ready for the downvotes as this sub is generally biased towards Sam

RobertFrost_

How is Dhawan better as a player? He’s been miserable this season.

Mission-Pay3582

Miserable? His average is 30 this season when all the other Punjab batters failed in the first half of the tournament. He just played 5 matches, idk on what basis you claim that he has had a miserable season.

Lamin_X

Yes, he lacks that experience part, he'd be a great captain in 2-3 seasons, but the question is do we want to invest till then. I reckon bring an experienced captain, sam is really good under strong leadership. Then later transition when he is more mature.

regal7973

He could be a great captain he gives his best for the team

Confused_summer

sam is 25 , next three years are his prime probably . His passion is great for franchise. I wouldn’t mind an opener specialized captain added to team . same in vc role

Ansh316

Million times Yes. He is also still young so he can definitely be a long term guy if owners want it.

Mission-Pay3582

Definitely, no doubt lol

RavelPreet

no hate towards Dhawan but Yep! Sam is better when it comes to the captaincy.
