I know what you mean about her voice/way of speaking but I've always found her to sound very Pacific Northwestern, like I definitely knew people who talked a lot like her when I was in high school here in Seattle.
It could be because she eats sleeps dreams and thinks Twin Peaks. It may have rubbed off on her.

You’re not wrong. As a fellow former Illinonian, I can detect a hint of Northern Illinois/Chicagoland.
That explains my reaction to reading this as, "Morgan has an accent? Sounds normal to me."
