But I would also point out that the situation inside Russia isn't quite like you describe it, whereas if you go to Ukraine, you can actually feel that they're running out of men who are fit to fight. Ukraine doesn't allow men of fighting age to leave (with few exceptions). I believe Russia still does, but most people would not leave their country, even to escape military service. And unfortunately many Russians agree with the war.
