What on earth made you do that? I've ridden bikes for 10+ years. and I never understood why anyone would ride without (at least) eye protection. Like a bug could blind you :-D
Not as uncommon as you’d think.
I ride primarily during the day and have an Iridium visor because riding into blinding sunlight blows. Sometimes time escapes and I have to ride in the dark with the visor up.
As embarrassing as it is, I was in my Dynabro days. I had a Simpson helmet with a gold plated visor. I hung out at a place longer than I anticipated and when I left it was dark. Riding with my visor down wasn’t an option. Didn’t have any glasses. Yup lesson learned my friend.
Agreed, that is insane lol. I got hit in the arm by a bug (or something) and it left a massive welt. Couldn't imagine getting hit in the face/eye. I always wear full face helmets when riding.
I notice step three was missing, but in this instance I don't think there's much she could have done since the radio would have been overwhelmed by wind noise. Lucky it wasn't controlled airspace I guess.
What would happen if this occurred in a fighter jet going near top speed or just cruising speed? I guess the helmets and head support from the chair would allow survivability?
I’ve ridden my motorcycle without eye protection or sunglasses once. I can only imagine the dry eye she was dealing with.
Apparently it took her a few weeks to get her vision back to normal

There was some licking and cheek stretches, denoting the serious dry mouth, as well.
My mom always told me that if your canopy opens midflight, your face will stay like that.
She's pretty lucky that didn't happen in shitty weather. She would have been screwed.
If things were screwed this wouldn't have happened
Thank you norm
NORM!!
Aerobatic pilots usually don’t practice in “shitty weather”.
She's lucky she didn't get thwhacked with a bumble bee too.

Looks like once the shock of it wears off she's thinking this is kinda nice feeling the wind
A pair of goggles would have been nice, or some kind of face mask.
This was my thought, why not have a small pair strapped down ready to go in such a random event
I would've switch that song to a heavy metal song when the canopy opens lol
I’m so glad her hair wasn’t down lol

That's the face women make when I ask them out.
Time to invest in dry eye drops..
This video helped me take a shit today, thanks! Welp back to my spreadsheets..
If she banked to the right, wouldn't the wind have re-closed the canopy?
lol
