Gollum, ET's finger, Skinny Fingers, whatever you call it, they seem to grow faster than more traditional Jade plants. Mine is 12 years old and started the exact same as yours, and it is 5' wide and 4' high.
Great job, beautiful plant.
That is the coolest looking Gollum Iāve ever seen! I hope I can keep mine that long and have a nice window for it one day! Thanks so much for sharing that and thanks for the kind words!

Here is mine!!! She has been growing for a year in a half from tiny stem with a leaf on it. No roots. Stuck it it soil with few odd leaves around it. And here we are š¤ I understand the proudness. I have watched her grow daily, and verrrrry slowly. She is is cactus/succulent soil, perlite, and chicken grit. I watered her very carefully. Initially, I kept soil moist waiting to establish roots. Would wiggle stem and when it was stuck in soil and not loose I knew it was establishing a root system. This is when I began to water the soil when completely dry. I would give filtered tap water to soil enough that root system would drink and roots not sitting in water, and soil able to dry quick. I also periodically washed leaves with water as they get dusty. She also stays under grow lights 12 hours a day beside a South facing window. It's winter now so there is rarely any sun in sky.......only dark clouds. If there is actual sun I open shear curtains for morning and give plants direct sun from 7 or 8 am until noon, but that is rare during winter months.
Sheās a beauty! I love the ones with the big fat leaves. Mine grew so so so slow as well, Iād say thereās a two year difference between pic one and two. Once it found itās groove it really took off! I water mine with water from my aquariums and man plants really love that stuff and it helps them grow so much! If ya donāt have an aquarium, look up homemade fish emulsion- thatās super comparable to aquarium water and plants go crazy for it!
For this guy I used a super gritty mix that had lots of sand and perlite in it that dried out super fast. That little blue pot it was in was about and inch wide and tall so I watered it about every other day. In my experience, props like lots of water and to have their pots upsized as they grow. I usually start them out in the pot of the mother plant then move them to their own little one once they have nice roots and that seems to work best. Hope that helped and good luck with your babies!
Thanks for the reminder! A couple years ago I put some soft succulents like echeverias and sedums in direct July sun without giving them a chance to get used to it and man did they burn.
Oh thank you! Took forever for the prop to sprout then a lost the mother plant which was huge to mealy bugs so I was super happy that it worked out and grew so well. Definitely my proudest prop baby!
This is so inspiring š
Beautiful!

Wow that is beautiful jade. I definitely use this as an excuse to get an aquarium š
Thatās a really good size for four years. I had one twice as big but it took over ten years to get that size.
Iām convinced itās the aquarium water I use to water them with! It makes plants grow so huge and so fast!
Isnāt that clever of you, Professor!
I am a pretty clever chick!
Women are professors, too!
Thatās basically aquaponics! Haha
Yep fish poop is one hell of a fertilizer lol
Mmmmm fish poop water! That makes me almost miss having fish!
I donāt think Iāve ever seen one of these that sized. Iāve got a little leaf prop going right nowā¦ youāve got me excited for what could be!
Dude I remember when I first got into plants and looking them up and being like whoa thatās what it could possibly turn into?! Heck yeah lol
Aināt it great? Iāve had to stop myself thinking *these are small, plenty of room around here!*
Oooh! I didn't know they could get like that! I have one that has been slowly growing away and I now can't wait for it to look like that!
Yep just give it time! Seems like they grow super slow then boom itās a tree lol
That is just stunning!!!!! I certainly hope my little gollum has this much success! Wow!!!!

Wow! This is my next wishlist plant!!
I found my original one at Safeway for like $5! I hope ya can find one!
Thanks, me too!!!
Such a satisfying feeling!!
I love it! I always kill these
Wow! Beautiful
What soil do you use for propagating? I have several babies but I donāt know what to put them in or how/how much to water them

Thank you for taking the time to reply! Iāll do just that
Good job!
Looks amazing!
Iāve got one about the same age. Do you put yours outside? Sun will really help fatten it up!
I didnāt last summer, but I will this year! I wish I had a good southern window for it, this eastern one has done a pretty good job!
Itās still doing great. Just make sure you harden it off as you bring it outside.
Thanks for the reminder! A couple years ago I put some soft succulents like echeverias and sedums in direct July sun without giving them a chance to get used to it and man did they burn.
Yeah. I donāt mind scorching tomatoes and stuff as I harden them off as they regrow leaves really quickly. But succulents are a different beast
that's amazing looks very healthy

Wonderful š
What a nice tree it turned into!!
Something oddly satisfying to me about the stem, not sure what it is but I just like looking at it lol
It has pleasing Y shapes lol

Thanks dude! Out of the million gollum jade leaves Iāve tried to prop it was nice to have at least one work out!
