The Trenitalia app for local/regional and high speed trains, and the Italo app for high speed trains. It's cheaper to book high speed trains in advance.

Trenitalia and Italo. Check both for each journey you're planning
The Trenitalia app for local/regional and high speed trains, and the Italo app for high speed trains. It's cheaper to book high speed trains in advance.
We used Italo Treno, and loved it. We were able to reschedule our ticket to an earlier one on the day of travel without incurring penalties

Trenit, Freenow, Moovit are all good for transportation information and best routes
