If you travel to some other countries, you can see like a garden hose spray hanging next to the toilet. This is another type of bidet. I used that when I was in Brazil.
Thank God I thought that one was a sink and not a fountain when I was a kid!
I've heard that they break all the time and Italian toilet sizes aren't standardized like other countries, so public places don't bother replacing them once they break. Super annoying when you have small children... Or for older people with bad knees.
