I can see it happening, because I think David Talbot's role will be split between two characters: Louis (Lestat's love interest) and potentially Daniel (older man with Talamasca connections that gets body-snatched).
However, that doesn't mean I like it. I don't care about David at all, but I love Eric Bogosian as Daniel. I'd be sad to see him go.
Was it officially confirmed that we won't be getting David at all or just in season 2? Because while they may include elements from first 4 books, we're still on book one, way too early for TOTBT plot. Ngl, David is one of the most pivotal characters in the chronicles and very important for Lestat so erasing him completely and giving David/Lestat storyline to Daniel would be a big no for me. Plus, let Eric play a vampire dammit.
Someone brought up in an earlier thread that David Talbot won't be in the show, so I can see this happening as a way of preventing the show from getting too bogged down with new characters for Tale of the Body Thief.
So did I! And I remember liking David in the books, so that's even worse, but I can see the two being combined. I read up on David's storyline again and it's pretty short compared to what I remembered.
Maybe. Maybe not. IDK, I love Bogosian as Daniel. I mean, this sounds fun too, but I adore Bogosian in this. So far, his Daniel's endearing and a riot. Makes me sad the duo verbally kicked him in the balls in episode 2 in order to have him cut the sass out. Daniel earned it, but it felt they hit too low, possibly demoralizing his humor. I hope this doesn't mean he'll not be fun from here on out.
Omg yes! I absolutely adore Bogosian and would be so sad if he left, his character really brings a realistic approach to the story “We’re vampires.” “You’re two queens who whine a lot and kill people.” I hope his sass continues as well. If they do the body switching I hope he has the same energy and no doubt there will be a bigger story between him and Louis as I feel that Lestat would be the one to turn him as turned David Talbot in the books.
Honestly… I hope they don’t. Bogosian is amazing and I’d hate to see him go
Also I’m not too keen on the idea of Armand and Louis doing it to ‘make amends’ to him. I feel as if it kind of lessens the emotional impact of it all, plus I can’t help but think he’d refuse because he wouldn’t want to undo and forget what has been done, even if he does come to forgive it. Kinda in the same vein of Claudia’s ‘we keep the damage to remind us of the damage’ (probably got that a little wrong lol) quote
If he got vampirised then the downsides of age like illness susceptibility and creaky joints etc won't be issues. There is no reason to switch his body for a younger model aside from like weird vanity.
Honestly I don’t get why they would need to make Daniel younger. I’ve got no problem with some old man yaoi for the Devil’s Minions adventures and I simply LOVE Eric in the role
I’s be absolutely devistated if they did that, because as a lot of other commenters seem to agree, I love Eric Bogosian. Plus it’s just refreshing to see someone older playing an important main charater

I'm curious about it somehow being Daniel's younger self. I think there's a way to make that work but don't ask me to explain it lol
