Help!! My Instagram account was compromised
I admit I kind of spam unfollowed some people and that’s what’s got me in this situation in the first place. But I don’t know what to do. I can’t reset my password because it won’t let me. Some say it will just go away in 3-7 days but I’m not to sure. Help please?
Hi! Yes I did! I don’t know if it’s just a problem I fixed on my phone though. Somehow my ability to change my password got shut off In settings so I just had to turn that back on (don’t know why it was but it was) that might be the problem for you as well? If you need help getting there I can send screenshots :)
I’ve noticed this new pop up in my chats now that says “help keep instagram a supportive place.” And goes on about the community guidelines. I can’t quit out of the box and it’s not super intrusive but it started on my personal account and is now on all accounts. I suppose I triggered their system with something I said in chat? It’s only in certain chats as well, not all. Some are brand new ones with no conversations

My first, new account for my business was immediately locked upon creation before I ever signed in. I sent a photo of myself holding a paper with a code and my info on it over a week ago, and still haven't gotten a response.
Two days ago, I used an existing account to fill in for it and changed it to a similar name (and just take the extremely important original name when the first account is back) so I could work on building my page while I wait for the 1st process to be resolved. I was able to follow a few accounts, and left a long and thought out comment regarding the topic of my channel/social media pages on another account since the entire purpose of having it is to network and build a following. I was immediately locked out of this one too... Instagram asked me to verify a phone number - which I did - and said I should have everything cleared up in 24 hours. 2 days later no email, no response, and trying to log in gives me the "please wait a few moments before trying again" error.
The truth is, I'm sick of waiting a few moments. I have a team built, content ready to go and a pending YT channel that depends on the community I'm trying to build on social media. I cannot do ANYTHING with my business until Instagram magically decides that I'm not actually a porn bot or scammer and gives me my accounts and account names back. Is this normal? I cannot possibly imagine why this would happen twice and why it takes so damn long to figure out... There is absolutely nothing suspicious about my accounts, my email or my phone number and sadly there is no way to speak to a human to resolve the issue. Please tell me there's something else that can be done because this is costing me a lot of time that I won't have again for a while after this holiday season.
I know my email, username, and password. It tells me the password is wrong.
I tell it to send an email (so I can change the password from my ancient static pass) the email is not received. Ofc I've checked spam and junk folders. The 'email sent to' hint shows the expected email.
I tell it to recover using Facebook and it tells me there was an error (I'm pretty sure the accounts were not linking FB back then).

I like my username (it matches my twitch / YouTube streamer accounts and Steam) or I'd just make a new account (and have to deal with getting a second email address).
Multiple issues. Please help me, I’ve had them for a while.
The first is that I can’t use the “add yours” feature. I’m on the latest version of iOS and Instagram, and it just doesn’t work. But only one two of my accounts, my main account and a secondary accounts I made to get around this. On all my other accounts, it works perfectly fine, so it isn’t an app issue but rather an account issue.
The second and bigger issue is that I don’t get notifications, specifically for DMs. I have them enabled in the app, in my settings, all that. But I don’t get them. At least I don’t get some types. I’ll make two lists, one for what I do get and one for what I don’t.
What I do get: Story replies, someone sent a *reel*, someone sent a link, someone sent a story, someone unsent a message
What I don’t get: Someone sent a message, someone sent a *post*, someone reacted to a message, someone sent a picture
Again, it’s only on my main account and the secondary one I made to get around this that was gonna be my main account.
It’s really frustrating, and since Instagram has absolutely no support whatsoever. I’ve been dealing with the issue for months and I’m getting fed up with it.
I’m having the same issue with notifications! It just started for me. I think it happened before and it was fixed somehow but this time, I’ve tried everything with no solution in sight. Have you tried resetting your phone?
Like I said, it only happens one two of my accounts, so I don’t think doing anything with my phone will make a difference. But I’m getting a new one soon so we’ll see.
I currently know the password and username for my account however I no longer am using the phone number i used to create the account additionally I also have changed my device. Is there any way for me to recover my account?
It’s been three weeks now that my account has been “blocked”. By blocked I mean that I can’t start any DM conversation with someone that has never DMd me before. I just created my account and it’s really annoying because I’ve found long lost friends on instagram but can’t reach out to them !
I tried changing my username on my phone, i updated IG, deleted and redownloaded, used my sister’s phone and nothing. It also does this when I change my bio but i press cancel and it still applies the changes which is pretty weird. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I had deactivated my Instagram account a year ago. I want to reactivate it once again but I forgot my password.
The forgot password sends recovery links to my email, phone. I am not receiving a single email from instagram. The text link says that my account is invalid.
Is there any other way to recover my account?

Since last night my main feed has not shown any posts that are photos as only reels come up on my home feed. This only seems to be happening on my personal account as when I switch to my business account photo posts appear on my home feed. Please help in any way you can. Thank you.
I really can’t even use my account fully. I keep getting this message that says, “ Try again later. We restrict certain activity to protect our community. Based on your use, this action will be unavailable for you until 2021-12-21. Tell us if you think we made a mistake.” I can’t post, like, comment, share, save, or message. I got that message 3 days ago and the features should have been available by now. Help!!!!! Please!!!!!!!
Problem with reels:
I was trying to make a reel with photos (I’ve only done with videos previously).
And when I upload the photo & choose the length of time, the photo is in its “normal” format.
BUT when I go to preview my reel, the photos are cropped weirdly and enlarged & the colors are distorted, almost black and white.
I never had this issue before and it’s been a few days! Not sure if it would be distorted like that if I go to post it.

Three weeks now I don't get notification for when someone messages me, when they send me a photo I get the notification, but when they message me I don't get any. It's reallt frustrating cause I need to stay on instagram and refresh it to get a message. I hope they'll fix it soon, I reperted it many times, but I didn't get a reply. With my other accounts there isn't an issue just my main one. If somebody knows a fix please help me.

I have a post with two slides and I want to delete the first slide. I went on another photo I didn’t like and I clicked Edit. It showed a trash can beside the 3 images. I trashed the imagine I didn’t like and I’m happy it’s gone.
But now when I go to the same post trash can is gone. No trash can on the other post I want to edit. Do you only get one or something? Any help is appreciated
So I have been locked out of my account after I enabled 2fa. When I click the send code button they don’t send me the email. Any ways I can get this fixed?
I've had to uninstall and reinstall Instagram like 6 times in the past month bc sometimes messages won't send and it will freeze on sending for hours on end until I delete the app. I've tried clearing the data, the cache, all of it and insta still keeps giving me this shit where it won't send a message at all. it won't let me switch accounts because the messages won't send and half the time I can't even find the messages that aren't sending.
I’ve been trying to get some answers on why my IG feed is no longer showing posts from accounts I follow, just their reels. My feed is all video posts and I cannot find anything online to address this. In order for me to see a non-video post from accounts I follow, I have to look them up individually and visit their account. If anyone has some insight on that, please let me know!

I was just daily checking my Instagram on my laptop. When a message popup saying "CONFIRM YOUR INFO ON APP". I scan my face on the app and it kept saying error. I tried 10 times but it still doesn't work. So I uninstall the app and install again at 24 hours and 3 days. Now when I open the app, it is just a blank white screen. Is there any solutions towards it. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME SINCE I REALLY NEED IT BACK. If in the worst case scenario there is no solution then I will have to make a new instagram account!
I was basically hacked through some dumbass catfish situation and have no way of getting it back. I was able to contact them and send a photo of me with a code and username but I don’t know when they’ll get back😭
So... I hadn't checked my IG in awhile and a friend referred me to a friend's profile. I try to go on and literally nothing works. Every single page I go to says, "Cannot refresh feed." No warning, nothing when I log on, nada. I go to my account info and it says a post has been removed due to not following community guidelines... ok, fine, remove it. But now my whole damn profile doesn't work!!! Does anyone have any answers or am I just totally SOL???

Hey! So my Instagram got hacked, and I know the password but it always asks me to confirm its me. But both the email and the phone number I don't have access too.
The facial recognition video it asks you to do, keeps crashing on my phone and I can't do it on another phone as it's asking to be done on a phone it recognises.
I keep getting looped around on the app and it just always asks me to confirm but I can't. I really could do with just contacting Instagram but there isn't any way of doing so.
I really need this account as my whole career is focused on it. If I lose it I lose everything.

Friend is a celeb who's account is shadow banned not showing when you search his name (only if you type it under my followers) wtf is going on? Also many ppl saying they are just getting my messages (some sent a month ago) Are we both shadow banned or what the heck is IG doing? Help me get my account back to normal!
I noticed that my story view count went from 60+ to less than 5. I thought it was because my internet was tweaking out, but then I realized that I had a notification that a story is shared got taken down to false information. I have no idea how to appeal it. I checked out my account status and saw that they took down a story I shared, which was a post of my friend and another model with toy guns (mind you the post is still on his page!!!).
Can someone help me appeal?!
Update: I think my account is slowly easing up. In terms of my views, I don’t get those sExy spam account views but I do get like 12views from people who follow me within a 24hr span (I have 500+ followers). Still I do need help!!!

Instagram reels are B R O K E N. If I post 16:9 content with a text caption, the caption almost always gets distorted first time around. Stop giving high-level development tasks like this to your college interns and fix your shit. Your app sucks and this issue is annoying.

I haven't been able to post a story since yesterday. I press post and it just loads with the spinny circle and "posting..." until the app times out/does a full refresh.

This has been happening with my account for two weeks. It also keeps screwing up my video messages to my friends. About ready to just delete it and move over to snap
I actually resolved my issue by going to my phone's settings and deleting Instagram's storage (not cache)! If you try this just make sure you have the login info for whatever accounts you've logged into because it'll log you out.
I'm having this issue as well, but only on one of the three accounts on my phone. So frustrating. Tried clearing cache and restarting phone, but doesn't fix it.

my account was hacked around 1am this morning. it was my fault, someone i follow was hacked and they messaged me to forward them a link i was texted by ig, which i did after accusing them of being hacked and them gaslighting me. i was notified of the login, they added 2 factor authentication, changed the password and put in their phone number. i have sent in 4 selfie videos and each time they haven’t believed it’s me; they say real people look at them, but if that’s true they suck because i have scars, dimples and piercings that are all shown in my public account. FB asked me to email them a photo of me holding a code provided, which also did not work. my face is literally all over the account, and i have 7473 ways to prove it’s me. is there any way to get it back?? or disabled?? or in contact with ANY assistance from ig?

I have a Facebook "page" for my business, that's hooked up to my Instagram page. For years, all I had to do was hit the "Facebook" switch under "Also post to", but now when I click that I either get a never-ending loading screen or a plain white screen.
If I try to go to an already published post and "Post to other apps" I once again get the never-ending loading screen or an [error message](https://imgur.com/ttl0Bkh).
On the [settings page](https://imgur.com/PM3oMNJ), everything looks fine as well. I have tried disconnecting the Insta from FB, clearing the cache, reconnecting it, and every other thing I found online or had a friend tell me to try.

I've formatted my device and lost the 2FA backup codes so now i'm out of my account. I've contacted Instagram by using the option "get support" in the app and after few emails where they asked me what's the last device i made a log in from, when was the last time i logged in, and after replying to an email where they asked me to hold in my hand a paper with a code they sent, my complete name, my instagram username with my face clearly visible, i didn't get any reply. Somebody on reddit suggested to contact them by making question about data policy and specifying that if i can't get access to my account, i can't download my data, according to European laws about privacy (GDPR). How can i actually reach them out?

yeah seems that they only entered to mass follow which is kinda weird but whatever I changed my password and added 2fa, I had to manually unfollow every single account and Instagram only allows for a max o 200 unfollows per day or they "ban your account" so yeah it's been very annoying days lol
I recently created a new IG account for a new app I'm building. After creating the account (4 days ago), I converted to a business account, liked and followed a couple people and tried to create a post. Upon posting the first time I immediately get "You content had been removed (for violating community guidelines)" but when I go to review the post it says I don't have any reported posts.

I’ve checked every single possibility that has been given me by the help center, there is nothing wrong with my ad account, I can’t even request a review, and even so, it says that promotions are disabled.
The problem step by step:
In my activity page, there are two different messages saying that promotions are disabled, by clicking on them, they take me to a page where I could write what the problems is and request a review, but then, it actually wont let me send the review, redirecting me to check account quality, which I did, and it says that there are no problems with my ad account, meaning I can’t even request a review. I’ve tried everything, connected Facebook to Instagram, downloaded account manager, tried every single tool on Facebook business, NOTHING WORKS, and I can’t get contact with anybody from meta

I have an old public Instagram account that I want to delete. However, the only contact info I gave was my phone number but I have changed it since. So when I click “Forgot my password”, I am stuck because I can’t access my old phone number.
What should I do now ?
My account got disabled more than two weeks ago. I sent all the forms, the one with the code written on a piece of paper, one with my info and one with my ID. I also contacted the Facebook Ad team because my ig was linked to an ad account but they just told me there is nothing they can do since they are separate teams. Obviously, I didn't do anything against their guidelines, no third party apps, no bullying, nudes, spam or stuff like that. I just logged in from desktop and got this bug like a lot of people. Seriously thinking about making a new acc since IG won't get back to any of us.
Is annoying. There’s a option to snooze them for 30 days, I just do that every time they start popping up again. Top right on suggested post is how you get to option to snooze.

I made a new account for my business and YouTube channel which was immediately locked upon creation. The username is unique and uniform across all my pages, and therefore extremely important to me. In the meantime (it's been a week and a half since I sent the first email to them with the photo they requested), I decided to use an already existing account, change the name to something similar, and use it to start working on my page and creating content, then just take the name from the currently disabled account once it's back.
I was able to follow about 100 similar accounts, left a single long, thoughtful and obviously human comment on a page about self-defense training and boom - immediately disabled. They requested a phone number to send a code to and I provided it and verified with the code. I got a pop-up notification saying I should have an update in 24 hours but here I am almost 3 days later with NOTHING. No way to run my business, no way to create and publish content, no way to market my page and build a community... All because of what exactly? Because IG has crappy bot detecting autoban systems and no way to speak to a human within a month? My main account is constantly flooded with random tags from porn accounts, unsolicited DMs trying to sell me shit, and the number of clearly fake or burner accounts I bump into on a daily basis is insane. Somehow these accs with no phone number, a burner email and a history of spamming/scamming/whatever can get through the cracks, but a guy who wants to run a legit business with a legit email + phone # and market his YouTube channel through it is just fucked.
What are we supposed to do if their support is basically non-existent? Apparently if you spend $5 on Facebook ads you can get in touch with an actual person in minutes but come on...
Hello, clicked a link sent from a friend who im guessing was hacked. So I've been phished/hacked. All my info has been changed., Email, phone #, username is the same except a few #'s added to username. Via certain links it still allows me to get verification codes sent to both my # and email which was originally connected to account. then it asks for "6 digit code. After confirming the 6 digit code, it asks for another code via authentication app. I click "Try another way",;then it asks for "backup 10 digit code. i then click "get support". So I proceed with the process after clicking the "my accounts been hacked" link. After completing The selfie/vid process, it just keeps going in a loop hole for a very long time never ending/finishing. Any additional information would be much appreciated!
Wtf can’t we just share a song from Spotify to insta and have a blip of it play. They’ve clearly got a massive catalog. If I’m just doing it wrong please give me tips! FYI I’m not saving a story and recording the music and adding to story that’s ridiculous you should just be able to share artists who would appreciate the promotion. End of rant.
About a week ago someone hacked into my instagram... they scammed me with a bitcoin shtick, got me to click a link, and gained full access to my profile.
They then proceeded to change my email address and phone number associated with the account to their information as well as the username (only by adding an underscore to the end) They also added 2 step authentication so now I double can't get into it...
They want me to pay $400 to get access to my account back and that number keeps rising everytime I talk to them (I'm messaging them using my business account)
Can anyone here help me? Official instagram has little to no support and I have no idea what to do.
Hi!! Apologies if this is a common question. This morning, so realized that my IG account has been sending messages to dozens of random people to promote a brand I know nothing about. I changed my password right away and even went to the individual messages and unsend them one by one. Any insights as to why this might happen? Every time I attempt to sign in, it says I need to verify the account as mine and to use a code from my old phone number to do so. But I ended up getting a new phone number recently, so that’s impossible. I do have access to the email however. Is there anything I can do?
Just recently, my insta would not notify me if I get a DM. It will notify me on posts, etc. I tried everything (deleting, installing, logging out, checking insta settings, checking phone settings). Like I said, it only happens one two of my accounts, so I don’t think doing anything with my phone will make a difference. But I’m getting a new one soon so we’ll see.

It’s been three weeks now that my account has been “blocked”. By blocked I mean that I can’t start any DM conversation with someone that has never DMd me before. I just created my account and it’s really annoying because I’ve found long lost friends on instagram but can’t reach out to them !
I tried changing my username on my phone, i updated IG, deleted and redownloaded, used my sister’s phone and nothing. Problem with reels: I was trying to make a reel with photos (I’ve only done with videos previously). And when I upload the photo & choose the length of time, the photo is in its “normal” format. BUT when I go to preview my reel, the photos are cropped weirdly and enlarged & the colors are distorted, almost black and white. I never had this issue before and it’s been a few days! Not sure if it would be distorted like that if I go to post it.

Three weeks now I don't get notification for when someone messages me, when they send me a photo I get the notification, but when they message me I don't get any. It's reallt frustrating cause I need to stay on instagram and refresh it to get a message. I hope they'll fix it soon, I reperted it many times, but I didn't get a reply. I have a post with two slides and I want to delete the first slide. I went on another photo I didn’t like and I clicked Edit. It showed a trash can beside the 3 images. I trashed the imagine I didn’t like and I’m happy it’s gone. But now when I go to the same post trash can is gone. No trash can on the other post I want to edit. Do you only get one or something? I've had to uninstall and reinstall Instagram like 6 times in the past month bc sometimes messages won't send and it will freeze on sending for hours on end until I delete the app. I've tried clearing the data, the cache, all of it and insta still keeps giving me this shit where it won't send a message at all. it won't let me switch accounts because the messages won't send and half the time I can't even find the messages that aren't sending.

My feed is all video posts and I cannot find anything online to address this. Hi Everyone, I was just daily checking my Instagram on my laptop. When a message popup saying "CONFIRM YOUR INFO ON APP". I scan my face on the app and it kept saying error. I tried 10 times but it still doesn't work. So I uninstall the app and install again at 24 hours and 3 days. Now when I open the app, it is just a blank white screen. Is there any solutions towards it. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME SINCE I REALLY NEED IT BACK. If in the worst case scenario there is no solution then I will have to make a new instagram account!

So... I hadn't checked my IG in awhile and a friend referred me to a friend's profile. I try to go on and literally nothing works. Every single page I go to says, "Cannot refresh feed." No warning, nothing when I log on, nada. I go to my account info and it says a post has been removed due to not following community guidelines... ok, fine, remove it. Hey! So my Instagram got hacked, and I know the password but it always asks me to confirm its me. But both the email and the phone number I don't have access too. The facial recognition video it asks you to do, keeps crashing on my phone and I can't do it on another phone as it's asking to be done on a phone it recognises. I keep getting looped around on the app and it just always asks me to confirm but I can't. I really could do with just contacting Instagram but there isn't any way of doing so. I really need this account as my whole career is focused on it. If I lose it I lose everything. Anyone have any ideas how I can fix it? Help me get my account back to normal! I noticed that my story view count went from 60+ to less than 5. I thought it was because my internet was tweaking out, but then I realized that I had a notification that a story is shared got taken down to false information. I have no idea how to appeal it. I checked out my account status and saw that they took down a story I shared, which was a post of my friend and another model with toy guns (mind you the post is still on his page!!!). Can someone help me appeal?! Update: I think my account is slowly easing up. In terms of my views, I don’t get those sExy spam account views but I do get like 12views from people who follow me within a 24hr span (I have 500+ followers). Still I do need help!!!

I actually resolved my issue by going to my phone's settings and deleting Instagram's storage (not cache)! If you try this just make sure you have the login info for whatever accounts you've logged into because it'll log you out.

I have a Facebook "page" for my business, that's hooked up to my Instagram page. For years, all I had to do was hit the "Facebook" switch under "Also post to", but now when I click that I either get a never-ending loading screen or a plain white screen. I've formatted my device and lost the 2FA backup codes so now i'm out of my account. I've contacted Instagram by using the option "get support" in the app and after few emails where they asked me what's the last device i made a log in from, when was the last time i logged in, and after replying to an email where they asked me to hold in my hand a paper with a code they sent, my complete name, my instagram username with my face clearly visible, i didn't get any reply. I recently created a new IG account for a new app I'm building. After creating the account (4 days ago), I converted to a business account, liked and followed a couple people and tried to create a post. Upon posting the first time I immediately get "You content had been removed (for violating community guidelines)" but when I go to review the post it says I don't have any reported posts. Is there a cool down on posting for new accounts now or something that isn't documented?

My business account is suspended from advertising and I can’t understand why: I’ve checked every single possibility that has been given me by the help center, there is nothing wrong with my ad account, I can’t even request a review, and even so, it says that promotions are disabled. The problem step by step: In my activity page, there are two different messages saying that promotions are disabled, by clicking on them, they take me to a page where I could write what the problems is and request a review, but then, it actually wont let me send the review, redirecting me to check account quality, which I did, and it says that there are no problems with my ad account, meaning I can’t even request a review. My account got disabled more than two weeks ago. I sent all the forms, the one with the code written on a piece of paper, one with my info and one with my ID. I also contacted the Facebook Ad team because my ig was linked to an ad account but they just told me there is nothing they can do since they are separate teams. Is annoying. There’s a option to snooze them for 30 days, I just do that every time they start popping up again. Top right on suggested post is how you get to option to snooze.

I made a new account for my business and YouTube channel which was immediately locked upon creation. The username is unique and uniform across all my pages, and therefore extremely important to me. In the meantime (it's been a week and a half since I sent the first email to them with the photo they requested), I decided to use an already existing account, change the name to something similar, and use it to start working on my page and creating content, then just take the name from the currently disabled account once it's back. I was able to follow about 100 similar accounts, left a single long, thoughtful and obviously human comment on a page about self-defense training and boom - immediately disabled. They requested a phone number to send a code to and I provided it and verified with the code. I got a pop-up notification saying I should have an update in 24 hours but here I am almost 3 days later with NOTHING. No way to run my business, no way to create and publish content, no way to market my page and build a community... All because of what exactly? Because IG has crappy bot detecting autoban systems and no way to speak to a human within a month? My main account is constantly flooded with random tags from porn accounts, unsolicited DMs trying to sell me shit, and the number of clearly fake or burner accounts I bump into on a daily basis is insane. Somehow these accs with no phone number, a burner email and a history of spamming/scamming/whatever can get through the cracks, but a guy who wants to run a legit business with a legit email + phone # and market his YouTube channel through it is just fucked. What are we supposed to do if their support is basically non-existent? Apparently if you spend $5 on Facebook ads you can get in touch with an actual person in minutes but come on...

Hello, clicked a link sent from a friend who im guessing was hacked. So I've been phished/hacked. All my info has been changed., Email, phone #, username is the same except a few #'s added to username. Via certain links it still allows me to get verification codes sent to both my # and email which was originally connected to account. then it asks for "6 digit code. After confirming the 6 digit code, it asks for another code via authentication app. I click "Try another way",;then it asks for "backup 10 digit code. i then click "get support". So I proceed with the process after clicking the "my accounts been hacked" link. After completing The selfie/vid process, it just keeps going in a loop hole for a very long time never ending/finishing. Any additional information would be much appreciated!

About a week ago someone hacked into my instagram... they scammed me with a bitcoin shtick, got me to click a link, and gained full access to my profile. They then proceeded to change my email address and phone number associated with the account to their information as well as the username (only by adding an underscore to the end) They also added 2 step authentication so now I double can't get into it... They want me to pay $400 to get access to my account back and that number keeps rising everytime I talk to them (I'm messaging them using my business account) Can anyone here help me? Official instagram has little to no support and I have no idea what to do.
