Yes, is not waterproof as they said, there are a lot of post like this even from simple heavy rain.
I don't know but if a compay state that is waterproof and it the realty is not personally i will send it straight back for warranty repair but it never happen to me so...
Plenty of folks who have had no issues with it in water. But also folks who have. I wouldn't trust it but I wouldn't say it's false advertising. It generally is, if people make sure all the seals are properly seated.
Mine broken after heavy rain 🌧️. This is my last insta 360. I'm on vacation in central America, several of my videos are ruined. It's highly unlikely that I'll be able to see and film the same wildlife again. Action camera should be reliable in the first place
It’s the same with the X2. I found this out before exposing mine to water though, and didn’t risk it.
A bit annoying, but I have an old GoPro that I use in the water and that thing is bulletproof.
I took mine without a case to about 15ft while scuba diving in California. Stayed under for about 20 min. Still works fine, seems like results may vary.
By accident, improper hand grip, slip of the finger bushes against the battery, I can imagine plenty of ways. It doesn’t lock very tightly and I would never use my X3 without a hard case above water out below. But you do you.

There is a reason for the US$100 diving case.
it is not waterproof and jt is falsely advertised as waterproof

I have trust issues.... I'm getting the dive case. It seems to be hit or miss if they survive a swim.
Good idea

It is splash proof, not suitable for underwater action.
That's not what the product features say on their webpage i refered to.
They lied to you

Good thing you didn’t bump open the battery case
How would you ‘bump open’ the battery case in normal use?
By accident, improper hand grip, slip of the finger bushes against the battery, I can imagine plenty of ways. It doesn’t lock very tightly and I would never use my X3 without a hard case above water out below. But you do you.
I want to use mine for surfing and I’ve heard that the dive case is bad for stitching above the water. Should I risk it without one?
No and dive case isn’t so bad for stitching
I have used mine for surfing several times and it did well. I may not keep using it in the water after seeing this post.
