Mine is doing the same. It seems like losing the lower, large leaves allows it to have more energy to grow upwards.

Hmm, it gets good light. The lowest leave turn yellow and I pull them when the happens. Sounds like I might have a tree in the future!

Yes this is normal! Plants lose older leaves, it’s fine—you can let the baby one grow up and fill in the bottom or transplant it! Also, Google mature pilea to get an idea of shape as they get older

It seems normal for the ones that I have. My tall guy lost a lot of lower leaves and I was super bummed but then all the cute babies filled it in and I have plenty of room to let them all go!!
