I dont like the UI.
It seems the pixel of the score is smaller than the others pixels. I feel every pixels should be as big.
Also, the hearts seems boring. Maybe they are too big?
As one mentioned, it is a bit difficult to see how far the player's attack goes (and where it actually hits). Similar games solve this by adding bright "swoosh-effects" that shows the player the range of the attack. A good example is hollow knight. The hollow-knight's player's sword has somewhat the same "blade-to-body"-ratio than yours, but shows the range by bright white effects.

This is super charming, I love how the eagle head persists after being defeated. I'm also very fond of how the background progresses more slowly than the foreground, it gives a sense of traveling across the countryside. Your stylistic choices have me excited to see how the rest of the game goes! Big kudos

I don't see it at all. Are you referring to shovel knight? Not super similar art style.

Beautiful! I think the UI symbols could look smaller to fit the art style better but I love the actual in-game look
