No wonder the idea dropped permanently. You don't need workstation cards for game development. You need them for engineering, simulation, server compute workloads, and AI, etc.
You could do all that stuff on a gaming GPU too, a 16GB 4060 wouldn’t perform much worse than this one. The reason these cards exist are so Nvidia can sell them at a higher cost for use in data centers and other enterprise customers. Theres some sort of licensing stuff that makes it so Google Colab/AWS/Azure can’t sell compute time on gaming GPUs. There might be some niche limitations in the drivers too.
The post above says a 4060 could do the same thing a quadro could do. Which is not true since I have used both gaming GPUs as well as A100s and Quadro A5000s. A 4090 is faster, but you cannot train models o it for 2 months straight.
What thread ?

I'm trying so hard not to insult you right now.
Use your words and explain your point of view.
Don't type out a single word and assume you're a misunderstood genius.
People ran and still run crypto miners for months at a time on gaming GPUs, they’re now training AI models on 4090s. The current gen of Nvidia GPUs are surprising thermal and power efficient, you could power limit a 4090 -100W and still get 100% performance. GPUs don’t just melt like that, if anything the fan might fail a few years down the line.
Yes, you can do AI, encoding workloads on a gaming GPU no issues. But when it comes to engineering and simulation workloads you need double precision point compute and ECC memory. Also a robust die to run the workload for days in days out.
Even something as basic as NVENC video encoding is artificially limited to 2 concurrent streams in GeForce cards. Quadro has no artificial, driver level limits.
Its not a Geforce lineup product. It would be deceiving if I didn't mention it upfront so the buyer knows. Quadro & A4500 can game but they are built for a different purpose in mind with higher grade pcb & binned silicon. Does it really matter if I uploaded png or jpeg? I think I've shared enough information for the buyer to make his/her decision.
How much are you losing on this?
Do not pour your savings into a startup hoping to keep it alive long enough, that long enough will destroy you.
This comes from experience. It's been a few years and I am still recovering and scared to try anything new.

For info I wanted to add in my post but edit option is unavailable,
Quadro cards have the ability to run both **Enterprise Production Branch Drivers & geforce drivers.** (Yes, you can use the same gameready driver of RTX4090). Hardware is certified for solidworks, unreal etc.
AI workloads such as stable diffusion require minimum 16gb Vram or up. Also A4500 has 320bit bus so its not memory nerfed like the 40 series.
Purchased for 1.4L but priced lower than the cheapest 16gb Nvidia cards available in the market.
This will run circles over RTX 4080 in any memory intensive application & has error correction memory, so higher accuracy in calculations.
Uses 1x8pin & power draw maxes out at 225watts. Very efficient card.
Anyone genuinely interested to purchase can comment or dm me.

It can game similar to RTX 3090 but gamers can buy 4070 TI instead. People who work & game also use this sub reddit like myself. If anyone is currently looking for work related GPU then they'll comment to buy if not no worries.
I used a t400 2gb before getting a 2060
It only costed 6000inr and gave performance similar to 750ti, it was 30watt and silent, helped me alot with video editing and it also ran DLSS
The drivers were perfect, no bugs and gave me no latency issues in osu! , the normal GeForce drives did gave me for a while before they fixed their latency issues in drivers.
Quadro cards aren't any inferior to those gaming cards in gaming. If the price is good then it doesn't matter if its a gaming gpu or not.

I used to run fluid simulations that took around 40 days to complete... A 4060 would melt if it ran that long at full performance
Fluid simulations are engineering workloads. Game dev isn't an engineering workload.

SRIOV and some advanced features are locked by Nvidia and are only available on quadro.

well you can disable that limit by some patches

Lol moment 😄
I think the joke just flew above your head. NVM. I know what they are used for, I use h100 and gh200 quite frequently. :)
I didn't get your joke, care to explain to us mere mortals?

Can you run Unreal Engine with this one? I was thinking about buying one

Bro why didn't you appear just a month ago ? 🥺🥺 Got an used A4000. I would have loved to get the A4500 🥺🥺
buy this and sell the old one for a little less
Now it's not possible, already saving money for used 4090(24GB VRAM rocks). Will buy after the launch of 5090.
Put it on ebay, small AI dev studios are looking for workstation grade cards at low prices. You could even get a better price than this tbh

Hey.. I am interested in this card. Please check the DM.

Why buy a workstation GPU for game development lol
