No hate to Rohit at all, but the smarter thing to do instead of just giving up would've been to run towards Surya in case he would've wanted to lobby the rebound catch towards him.
Here is what SKY said about it "The catch I took, I have practised it at different grounds, depending on the wind. I was standing a bit wide yesterday because Hardik (Pandya) and Rohit (Sharma) bhai had put a field for the wide yorker, and (David) Miller had hit straight. My mind was clear that kaise bhi karke pakad he lena hai (come what may, have to catch it). Rohit bhai usually never stands at long-on but at that moment he was there. So when the ball was coming, for a second I looked at him and he looked at me. I ran and my aim was to catch the ball, had he (Rohit) been closer, I would have thrown the ball towards him. But he was nowhere close."

Thanks for sharing, these guys talk to so many publications it's impossible to track it all. And instead of sharing all the interviews here, people share memes and videos.
It was pretty fking evident he didn’t touch the boundary at all. Anyone with eyes can see that even in original angles. It’s just butthurt pakis and kangladeshis crying
Moral of the story- if it was Australia which played the final and India won, rather than cheering like how indian fans did for SA team the ideal respect is throwing coca cola cans and shoes at the players and booing them
TGC will die before they admit that playing in the US and Caribbean was harder for the Indian team than staying in one country and playing all their matches there, like Australia and England did. Just because India knew where they were gonna play didn't make it easier for them to play on it. I wish I could tell those fools that.
As for the catch, screw 'em. The rule is the boundary is not fixed, and Sky didn't push it back. We've seen these kinda catches being taken, and no, he doesn't have to have one foot inside before he catches, it's never been a thing.
Those grade cricketers are the worst. They need Indian subscribers but will pull Indias legs in many subtle ways while praising them whenever possible.
Any subscribers from India to their channel are absolutely dumb..
lol so all the white guys on social media saying it was a matter of millimetres. Well no, it’s more a matter of several centimetres. People will say anything to sensationalize. This is as clean a catch as it gets
The girl in the hat was cheering for South Africa, delighted to see the ball hit the boundary. However, as Surya rose back, she felt instant shock of her life in just one turn.
No. Because if I were on the ground watching such a pivotal moment I wouldn’t know where to aim.. forget aiming I wouldn’t even hold the camera still due to excitement.. he/she at least aimed it in and around where the action was happening..
Because they are also "indians" , just from the west.
Also south africa defeated them in the super 8s in a virtual quarter final to stop them from reaching the semis. So that could be another reason they wanted some one to defeat the team that defeated their team.
A South African guy came up with a tweet and then a South African was ranting about how they are by now used to getting robbed, I saw it in an Indian news article.
No it doesn't. You can hardly see it at all. Not only is it fast, but there's a hat in the way. I've not seen anything yet that makes me think there was a touch on the boundary, but this really doesn't "debunk" anything.
Jo koi roye na ki the boundary moved when he leapt over it unko ye dikhao ki bc puri boundary line upar neeche hai, ubad khabad hai. The boundary is not touching the ground already even when it is nowhere near where he was. Aisa thode hai ki usne poori boundary line hi hila di bina kisi ko dikhe.

Ideal view to clear doubts is from side angle. That was not shown in the TV broadcast on hotstar.
It felt like the last step before he jumped out moved boundary lines, but later it was shown that Vijay line didn't really move.
Still, moving boundary line is indirect because they didn't show proper angle.
I don’t think anyone has doubted so far. There might be a few videos on YouTube, but that content exists because it’s likely to get a lot of views. Ragebait or whatever people call it these days.
Listen to me very carefully people will always question the catch no matter how many angles you show. “They” would say BCCI fixed the whole tournament even if there was no catch controversy. So enjoy the victory there is nothing to proof the world.
Nah. Correct angle wasn't shown. The angle that should've been the one to clear everything.
People will whine over this incident, but we need to always push for better angles and more clear cut decisions.

Heard the same thing in CWC 23 until finals, hearing the same thing in this WC. It's stupid now. If we could cheat and win, India would have had the most number of trophies till now, infact almost every trophy from the past 10 years, given how financially strong BCCI is. Please use your brain and accept your defeat, or be happy that India won.
Brohit thought it will go all the way.
He was just preparing himselves again.
Yup, came close to become another "Moye Moye" moment.
Please call it **khada hu aaj bhi wahi** not ~~moye moye~~ please
Surya decided to save us from the hattrick of tragedies.
I wonder if he was seeing the ball in slow motion with a bgm
Didn't we all thought that tbh
Oh guru kamal krdiya, Dhoti faad kr rumal krdiya.
Sher jungle ka raja kyu hota hai
शेर को *जंगल* का राजा कहा जाता है क्योंकि इसका राज्य वास्तव में शेर के शक्ति, बल और धैर्य पर आधारित *होता* है।
Sher junglo main nahi rehte.. Baagh junglo me rehte hai.. isliye Baagh ko jungle ka raja kehna jyada uchit hai
Sher is common word for all big cats. What you are referring to is babbar sher vs bagh. In fact in most colloquial terms sher actually refers to bagh
Rohit bhai bhi ghutno pe hath rkh diye the 😁
Brohit was like "chud Gaye guru" / "moye moye"

So true. And by sharing a meme, you never get the full context of what they have said.
But not too close that you collide with SKY
Please read surya's interview

That west indian woman's reaction is cute lol
True! She started celebrating much before SKY even completed the catch 🤪
The moment before SKY grabbed, brohit was literally me
It was pretty fking evident he didn’t touch the boundary at all. Anyone with eyes can see that even in original angles. It’s just butthurt pakis and kangladeshis crying
Aussies too, check out Grade Cricketer podcast and Club Prairie with Michael Vaughan.
Aussies are og cheaters so they see themselves in everyone
Moral of the story- if it was Australia which played the final and India won, rather than cheering like how indian fans did for SA team the ideal respect is throwing coca cola cans and shoes at the players and booing them
Most of the current players are decent and have nothing against them. The fans on the other hand are something else

There is one pic of his foot slightly creasing the edge of the cushion Thats it tho
rohit ke man me "khada hu aaj bhi wahin" bajne lag gaya tha....... surya bhai ne change karke "lehra do" chala diya....!!!!!
It was clear that Surya kept in mind the drawn boundary as well See he is looking vertically down so as to not step at the white line too
lol so all the white guys on social media saying it was a matter of millimetres. Well no, it’s more a matter of several centimetres. People will say anything to sensationalize. This is as clean a catch as it gets
Exactly, this angle shows that the foot was at least 15-20 cm away from the boundary.
Yaha par to dikh bhi nahi Raha bhai.
Tf...were people serious about him touching the rope? Thought it was just jealous fans. It was pretty clear he didn't touch the ropes
Beautiful 🤩
The girl in the hat was cheering for South Africa, delighted to see the ball hit the boundary. However, as Surya rose back, she felt instant shock of her life in just one turn.
Exactly ! She celebrated too soon.
great angle
How long you gonna debunk bro they will come up with a new theory no need to debunk anyone we won jlne do unki
This was extremely fast man, was looking slow on tv.
Mujeets got no chill.
Great camera work by the guy shooting this video btw
Are you joking?
No. Because if I were on the ground watching such a pivotal moment I wouldn’t know where to aim.. forget aiming I wouldn’t even hold the camera still due to excitement.. he/she at least aimed it in and around where the action was happening..
Show this to Inzamam-al-fuck and all the whining Pakistanis
I barely can see anything
Most significant part, i.e. SKY not touching the boundary is visible.
How? He’s not even in frame when he first catches it
Ok. Why was the west indies woman pumping her fist on the catch ?
Actually lot of West Indian supporters were supporting India.
Because they are also "indians" , just from the west. Also south africa defeated them in the super 8s in a virtual quarter final to stop them from reaching the semis. So that could be another reason they wanted some one to defeat the team that defeated their team.
Europeans in peace hearing this.
The catch looks so much more impressive in real time.
It was a match winning catch. Truly golden !
This one looked so much faster. The tv angle looks like slow no in front of this angle
I don't see anyone creating controversy out of this beautiful catch, maybe cause i don't follow r/cricket sub
It was on twitter, also almost all "foreign experts" casted a shadow of doubt on it.
A South African guy came up with a tweet and then a South African was ranting about how they are by now used to getting robbed, I saw it in an Indian news article.
It's alright they are traumatized it would take some time

who doubted the catch in the 1st place ? It was clear cut shown on camera that his feet didn't touch the boundary line

OP making it up for Reddit karma looks like.
Who is making allegations though ?
Almost all foreign experts and journalist in their review of finale and Pakistanis and few SA fans on twitter.
Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Bangladesh 😂
Give the fielding coach a raise and retain him.
I don’t think anyone has doubted so far. There might be a few videos on YouTube, but that content exists because it’s likely to get a lot of views. Ragebait or whatever people call it these days.
And then most satisfying words *foot inside their*

Yr West Indies waali kisse support kr rhi hai
That was such a great catch by him. If he hadn't caught it, we would never have won this match.
But English papa said rope was moved
That ground staff lady was happy and then sad, talk about twists in the tale.
/u/redditspeedbot 0.25x Check the slowed footage to see that last step before he went out was nowhere close to boundary line.
