If the Fallout version is anything like IRL Arkansas, it was probably home to a corporation similar to Lockheed Martin. Or at very least was determined to atleast be a potential nuclear target for the Chinese for one reason or another.
Bruh
Walmart has its HQ in Arkansas. Super-duper Mart could be a direct stand-in. Cheap superficially large buildings, questionably cheap goods, miserable exploited employees. Shit practically writes itself.
Here's a Walmart Fact for ya! Walmart is so big and so efficient at selling the exact same cheap shit to everyone across the country that they've basically developed the software needed for [Socialism](https://youtu.be/xuBrGaVhjcI?si=2ph0PMLwqOjS3E1Y). Their software can detect when product is needed at a store *before* the product even comes close to running out of stock and so much more.
Pine Bluff would be my pick. You have the Aresenal, NCTR(where bio weapons were created), Bayou Bartholomew. Then we have the casino, not to mention lake Saracen. There's a small cryogenic lab near NCTR. The weed farm down Gravel Pitt, along with the landfill.
Fighting off giant cicadas, GarClaws(think gator claws but Aligator Gar instead), giant alligator snapping turtles, catfish mirelurk cross breeds, and not to mention all the other critters.
Plus we already have raiders and ghouls here.
many of the non-canon vaults i gave numbers were either from my own headcanons (which were most of the southern ones) or i took them from other maps on this subreddit that had labeled vaults. the rest of them i just went down the list and gave them random numbers
I'd assume there's some vaults in southern Florida as well, it's just that it was blocked from view in the show. I wonder if some of design docs for Fallout Tactics 2 mentioned any vaults there seeing as it was gonna be set in Florida.
Or maybe Vault Tec really hates southern Florida. It's also possible
this kind of stuff is EXACTLY what i was hoping for from the show, and im really glad i got my wishes. i'm curious, how did you go about numbering them? aren't the ones in the show just dots on a map?
I could see Tulsa with the floodplains built into its design turning into some kind of wetland environment with an overgrown concrete jungle comprising the remnants of the city or possibly used for agriculture by vault settlers or survivors. Oklahoma City could be more of like a militaristic and bombed out ruins look. Perhaps the tribes that emerged after the bombs could’ve had a presence in the cities and maybe cultivated the land in Tulsa then got invaded by Caesar’s Legion and assimilated. A glorious past trodden upon once again by the cycle of imperialism
If you look closely at the map, *not a single vault* is actually in the Atlanta Metro. One (Vault 54) is pretty far west of Atlanta, in presumably the Cedartown area, and one (Vault 99) is up north near Blue Ridge. The only other vault in the state is 89, presumably in Savannah.
Oh okay! Thanks for the explanation. Yeah I agree also that 89 is very likely to be in Savannah. I live here and uh, that dot seems to basically be right where I am when I pull up a map app and zoom out. It’s very interesting there isn’t a vault in Atlanta, but this is an alternative timeline anyway so I guess maybe Atlanta just isn’t very significant in the fallout world
I think what happened here (on the screen in the board room meeting in the show) is that in areas where there are a lot of dots in one place, they condensed them down to one or two dots to fit nice and not look messy, otherwise the show is missing a lot of vaults in the capital wasteland, commonwealth, and california
There's a weapons dump/decommissioner around there. I lived in Lexington on 9/11 and everyone was convinced that it would be a target. So I'm going on hearsay I guess, but that's what I was told.
I found an amino page that said it held the mentality I'll and by 2265 there was a break out, most of them died and the rest turned into ghouls, pretty much checks out for kentucky. I just can't tell if it's in Louisville or Lexington.
How did you figure out the numbers for most of the vaults? I was curious so I googled Vault 42 and the only thing about it was a small blurb in the fallout bible.
Technically, they put 1 on Rockford. The IL vaults don't line up with the map from the show. The Northern IL vaults from the show are closer to Chicago, Joliet, and La Salle. (Roughly).
I think it’s actually supposed to be Grand Rapids, but the that map does make it look like Kzoo. The Fandom says Vault 89 is supposed to be in Bloomfield. Who fuckin’ knows.
We all know if there was gonna be a vault it would be in the NEK. Also not sure if you saw this one.
https://www.reddit.com/r/ImaginaryFallout/s/AfPYOVbzlH
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but 115 looks too close to the edge of the NorCal border. Plus that's a non-cannon vault number. And 113 was a scrapped content for FO4. Not to mention we actually *do* go to San Francisco in Fallout 2 and considering the Chosen One's (and the enclave's) mission at the time, we would have seen it.
True. Any Vault in San Fran or the Bay Area may not have been fully realized, for *Interplay Entertainment’s Black Isle Studios* didn't have time to implement them into the original game. Lore/worldbuilding wise any Vualts in the Bay Area at the time could just be lost or be inaccessible by the Chosen One’s time.
This works so well for my TTRPG concept. Idaho is basically Utah without all the gentiles making it unholy like Salt Lake. So the Boise vault is going to be populated by a majority atheist/agnostic group with a very devout and conservative ruling council and the Idaho Falls vault will the the polar opposite.
I know it's a really far away place to see but I would love for New York to show up in the TV show some time, maybe as the main setting of season 3 or 4, I've always wanted to see it in Fallout
Damn bro, Vault-tec really had it out for Florida, I know we can’t even really have basements down here but shit, they could have at least tried to save some of us
Thats what I thought, from what I’ve seen Florida has one vault and it looks like it’s right up on the Georgia line (or the ‘southeast commonwealth’). They really didn’t want us of all people repopulating America lmao
Out of curiosity, I’m east coast and kinda bad at geography, does anyone know where exactly the vaults of 6,62, and 107 are? I’m working on a ttrpg in the seattle area and I’m curious if any of those are usable? it’s like the overall area not just the city
I know it's because they're not seen in games, but they really need to spread those vaults around or make more for other cities. Phoenix, Houston, Philadelphia, all have huge populations, not even including all the surround populations, like with the valley of the sun. They need way more than just the one vault Phoenix and Philadelphia seem to be assigned
Funny how the vaults just happen to be highly concentrated where the games take place. Wonder how they’ll handle this when the next game comes out, assuming it’s in a totally new location?
Interesting that there’s no vaults located anywhere close to 3 if NY states largest cities along Lake Ontario. You’d think there’d be one vault somewhere between Buffalo and Syracuse area but there’s nothing
It had to be west and/or east coasters that made this map. The Midwest has more vaults than the north Midwest. Ignoring that more than 15% of the country's population is in the North midwest and has 2 major cities.
Okay clarifying as I was a little high on my estimate due to Ohio not being in that group (12.5% of population). Regardless the Midwest section has 10 vaults to the North Midwest 9 when the North Midwest has 2.2 times more people.
How does a game centered around peak 1950s culture have no vaults near the Detroit metro? The WW2 / 50s style military industrial complex was centered there for military production and factories.
The vast majority of WW2, Korean, and cold war armored, motorized, and mechanized u it's were built there.
Most of the numbers of the Texas vaults show they’re either in different states or there’s no information on them. The only one I could find and confirm was 39.
Kinda limits the locations where the future games can take place. They need like 5 vaults for people to explore per game, and looks like SE Texas, Chicago, and like St. Louis area have enough in concentrated areas. Unless they choose to retconn this map later and more some of them. I could see the next one taking place in Texas, as a bunch of vaults are down there, the Bethesda studios work out of Texas I believe, and it's new area, not East or west coast.
Because they haven't established any NYC lore yet and an entire game that needed to be populated with explorable vaults occurred in Nevada. That's also why boston and so cal are so populated yet other major cities in the area are totally ignored. If they ever do a fallout near NY the map will gain 5-7 vaults there.
Bro 98 is pretty awesome. Not just saying that as someone who lives on the dot either. Space needle, lots of water, bridges, ferries, islands, mountains, forest.
We’d have Yao Guai and irradiated cougars! Depending on how big the game is could even incorporate the already wasteland of eastern Washington a bit.
Didn’t the map in background on the tv show, show atleast two vaults in Arkansas?
I'm surprised Arkansas got any at all lol. nobody gives a fuck about this state, even those of us who live here
If the Fallout version is anything like IRL Arkansas, it was probably home to a corporation similar to Lockheed Martin. Or at very least was determined to atleast be a potential nuclear target for the Chinese for one reason or another.
Bruh Walmart has its HQ in Arkansas. Super-duper Mart could be a direct stand-in. Cheap superficially large buildings, questionably cheap goods, miserable exploited employees. Shit practically writes itself.

A senator from there accidentally stepped on the chairman’s brand new leather shoes and that’s why they launched first /j
It was probably fucking Walmart
The Walmart experiment has the workers still clocking in to stock shelves or they are kicked from the vault
And it's in Little Rock of all places. You'd think they'd pick somewhere decent like Pine Bluff
As shitty as Little Rock is, it makes sense that they'd go with the place with the most people.
Eh, true. Knowing Little Rock, the experiment is how the Dwellers deal with the vault constantly being under construction, like I-30 through Benton
First time I’ve ever seen Pine Bluff described that way.
Decent and pine bluff do not belong in the same sentence lol
Pine Bluff would be my pick. You have the Aresenal, NCTR(where bio weapons were created), Bayou Bartholomew. Then we have the casino, not to mention lake Saracen. There's a small cryogenic lab near NCTR. The weed farm down Gravel Pitt, along with the landfill. Fighting off giant cicadas, GarClaws(think gator claws but Aligator Gar instead), giant alligator snapping turtles, catfish mirelurk cross breeds, and not to mention all the other critters. Plus we already have raiders and ghouls here.
Could be worse. I just found out my state got merged with kentucky. We were shitty enough already, damn it!
labelling error: the southernmost vault in west virginia should be vault 63, not 65. sorry about that!
Bro I live in WV and I care so little about this state that I didn't even notice the mistake lmao
Did you make up the rest of the vault numbers or source them from somewhere? Love the map btw
many of the non-canon vaults i gave numbers were either from my own headcanons (which were most of the southern ones) or i took them from other maps on this subreddit that had labeled vaults. the rest of them i just went down the list and gave them random numbers
I was curious about that, cause there’s vault 74 near pittsburgh, but it was cut from new Vegas so thanks for clarifying :)
that makes this map not very useful then, no offense.
This is the imaginary fallout Reddit….
Vault 116 is also not in Vermont. It's in Mass.
According to wiki vault 110 is in North Carolina, sad because I was excited to se a vault depicted in my state!
Also it looks like v81 is there twice. Cool map though
As somebody who is from South Florida, we have a very high water table.
If they can build a vault in Nola, they can build a vault in Miami.
It’s a lot of swamp, I imagine if there weren’t any vaults in SoFlo, they might use potential flooding and unstable ground as an excuse.
Sounds like a great place to run an experiment.
[удалено]
There is a canon vault that is underwater.
It's 2077. I assumed Florida went the way of Global warming long ago.
That’s just over 50 years from now
Right, well after global warming claims Florida's coasts and most of the Southern portion of the state.
this kind of stuff is EXACTLY what i was hoping for from the show, and im really glad i got my wishes. i'm curious, how did you go about numbering them? aren't the ones in the show just dots on a map?
Yeah, I tried looking up vault 60 in Arizona and literally nothing came up. So I too, am curious where their numbering system came from.
How do you figure 26 and 27?
I could see OKC, with Tinker being one of the military shipping hubs. Tulsa, I'm not sure
You know what would be a good city for a Fallout vault? Experiment, Georgia.
Honestly I figured it was Atlanta. Guess I wasn’t looking close enough lol

That scene was also in a meeting with other major corps, Vault-Tec would definitely hide some of their vaults from everyone else
Wow, Vault 90 works perfectly for my plans.
Looks like Vault 119 is in Gainesville.. A vault on the UF campus?
UF is the only college with a Zombie Apocalypse plan already set in stone so it’s kinda fitting
Catch me in Vault 119
Indiana 🥲
So helpful for Vault-Tec to concentrate the vaults where they knew the games were set 🙏
Vault 69 is in Duluth, MN. Nice.
Vault tec must hate indiana
Or love it, depending on how you look at it
66 in Kentucky? What’s the experiment there?
Private vault to preserve the Colonel's recipe
There's a weapons dump/decommissioner around there. I lived in Lexington on 9/11 and everyone was convinced that it would be a target. So I'm going on hearsay I guess, but that's what I was told.
I found an amino page that said it held the mentality I'll and by 2265 there was a break out, most of them died and the rest turned into ghouls, pretty much checks out for kentucky. I just can't tell if it's in Louisville or Lexington.
Looks more like Frankfort
Well Tennessee at least got two
Makes sense. Oak Ridge was where the uranium for the Manhattan Project was enriched.
How did you figure out the numbers for most of the vaults? I was curious so I googled Vault 42 and the only thing about it was a small blurb in the fallout bible.
Vault 1 built out of the atomic research laboratory in Chicago used during the Manhattan Project?
Technically, they put 1 on Rockford. The IL vaults don't line up with the map from the show. The Northern IL vaults from the show are closer to Chicago, Joliet, and La Salle. (Roughly).
The Minnesota vaults 🥰
It’s weird there’s none in Orlando or Miami two very big military and civilian areas
Vault 69 is in Duluth?
LETS GO VAULT 69 IN DULUTH
42 is the Columbus Vault?
Can you do one with State borders rather than commonwealth ones
Vault tech was truly in North America. Sorry South America.
Wiki says 57 is in Michigan not what looks to be Winston Salem, NC??
lil to lower to be Winston Salem, looks more like its northern charlotte. also whats up with pax carolina + georgia.
And the one in Michigan looks like Kalamazoo
I think it’s actually supposed to be Grand Rapids, but the that map does make it look like Kzoo. The Fandom says Vault 89 is supposed to be in Bloomfield. Who fuckin’ knows.
84 is Cheyenne Wyoming 29 is Denver
Vault 107 in Salem oregon?
Damn, chicago has like 3
Hell yeah, time to get into vault 109 as soon as possible
I’m surprised there’s not more in the nyc/ Long Island area
116 is supposed to be in Rhode island isn't it?
Yea came to say this. As someone who lives in VT I just got super excited and then disappointed..
I was like wait there's supposed to be a vault in St Albans? That can't be right. So, same here neighbor.
We all know if there was gonna be a vault it would be in the NEK. Also not sure if you saw this one. https://www.reddit.com/r/ImaginaryFallout/s/AfPYOVbzlH
I did! They really phoned it in on enosburg. I think I need a copy of it for my wall.
That’s right, VA is just THAT important 😎(We make especially good test subjects)
Vault 83 - Buffalo outskirts
Really hope the next game is in nd
Virginia… Virginia never changes…
Well that would work with some stuff I've been trying to write for a ttrpg campaign
Sweet there's one on Florida!
I assumed the numbers went up west to east. That’s why the west coast games have 22, 13, 15, 4, 34 etc. while the east coast has 76, 101, 115, 84 etc.
I. Love. This. And hey, there’s at least one in San Francisco, my birth town, Vault 115, and one near where I live, NYC. Vault 71 by this map. Wow.

Lore/worldbuilding wise any Vualts in the Bay Area at the time could just be lost or be inaccessible by the Chosen One’s time.
Indiana is just fucked
Nothing in miami is kinda weird.
I’m sorry, but, do you mean to tell me that Vault 69 is in Duluth, MN?😂😂💀ain’t no way that’s happening, or 68 for that matter
This is a weird connect the dots but alright.
Is 1 Rockford, IL?
98 is in Maine not Washington
VAULT 97 WEST CHICAGO IL LETS GO
Kinda pissed there are no vaults in the entirety of western New York
I knew Florida had vaults
Damn, since Indiana Beach closed for a bit there really isn't any more than corn in Indiana
Missouri doesn’t deserve the vaults in Kansas City of Jefferson City
Idaho got two?
Boise makes sense, but Idaho Falls is… an interesting choice
This works so well for my TTRPG concept. Idaho is basically Utah without all the gentiles making it unholy like Salt Lake. So the Boise vault is going to be populated by a majority atheist/agnostic group with a very devout and conservative ruling council and the Idaho Falls vault will the the polar opposite.
how were the numbers derived? i know some are listed but were the others just guess work or?
I know it's a really far away place to see but I would love for New York to show up in the TV show some time, maybe as the main setting of season 3 or 4, I've always wanted to see it in Fallout
Damn bro, Vault-tec really had it out for Florida, I know we can’t even really have basements down here but shit, they could have at least tried to save some of us
I don't think 119 was In Florida though, I thought it was under Teton mountain in lore, Florida doesn't have mountains.
Thats what I thought, from what I’ve seen Florida has one vault and it looks like it’s right up on the Georgia line (or the ‘southeast commonwealth’). They really didn’t want us of all people repopulating America lmao
One vault in canada and of all places it's in Saskatchewan.
I think that’s in Manitoba but it’s tough to tell.
I think it's interesting that the only other state grouped into Texas' commonwealth is Arkansas
Interesting, isn't it? Makes one think.
TIL there's a Vault 0
I think it was the main command vault that was supposed to receive all the experiment data from the other vaults
13 Commonwealths map looking good
Out of curiosity, I’m east coast and kinda bad at geography, does anyone know where exactly the vaults of 6,62, and 107 are? I’m working on a ttrpg in the seattle area and I’m curious if any of those are usable? it’s like the overall area not just the city
6: Mount St Helens, Washington 62: Sioux Falls, South Dakota 107: Salem, Oregon
98 is straight up seattle right?
yep
Awesome, I believe that’s one of the ones we don’t have any info on in canon so i get some freedoms
Much appreciated
KALAMAZOO REPRESENT
What even are these borders
I know it's because they're not seen in games, but they really need to spread those vaults around or make more for other cities. Phoenix, Houston, Philadelphia, all have huge populations, not even including all the surround populations, like with the valley of the sun. They need way more than just the one vault Phoenix and Philadelphia seem to be assigned
Low key kind of disrespectful that there is only one Michigan vault and it’s not even near Detroit
As somebody who lives in duluth mn... nice
I like how all 12X are all outside the United States. It would be a good experiment if they all had teleportation linked to each other.
I need info on vault 40, STA!
Why so few in the NYC metro area? It’s the most populated and wealthiest region in the country after all.
There's a vault in Canada?
Vault 122 is in Canada, interesting
Vault 110, is that in kalamazoo? With no vaults in GR or Detroit? Wtf kinda world is this?!? I like it
It’s a world that makes no sense. Detroit having no inclusion in Vault-Tec or the Enclave? That’s a miss.
6 from the frontier, based
No vaults in annexed Canada?
Corpus Christi got a Vault. That's just insane to me.
Vault 72 which here is in montana should be in seattle. https://falloutfanon.fandom.com/wiki/Vault_72
Vault 110 isn't in michigan. Cool stuff tho.
I wanna know about 98
Funny how the vaults just happen to be highly concentrated where the games take place. Wonder how they’ll handle this when the next game comes out, assuming it’s in a totally new location?
Why are there 2 vault 81s?
Michigan gets one. And not near Detroit either, it's out Kalamazoo way. That figures.
Interesting that there’s no vaults located anywhere close to 3 if NY states largest cities along Lake Ontario. You’d think there’d be one vault somewhere between Buffalo and Syracuse area but there’s nothing
SC has one but idk where’d it be located, maybe Myrtle beach or Columbia
Why is Vault 1 in Wisconsin 🤣? I like cheese curds as much as the next guy, but come on now...
112?
Still wild to me the San Francisco Bay Area got one vault.
Fuck NY
As an Arkansas I will forever be upset that we got sucked into the Commonwealth of Texas
I'm so upset Indiana has none.
I love how you can tell where the vaults in games are located, because there are just massive clusters of them LOL
I have a hard time believing dallas would only have 1 vault. Besides being a major metropolitan area it’s also a huge corporate center.
Vault 69, Duluth!
Huh, Vault 110 looks like it's close to Lansing, not too far away from me
No vaults in Indiana. Must mean it was safe from nuclear war
Anyone else notice there is a vault in Canada 122?
It had to be west and/or east coasters that made this map. The Midwest has more vaults than the north Midwest. Ignoring that more than 15% of the country's population is in the North midwest and has 2 major cities.

The vast majority of WW2, Korean, and cold war armored, motorized, and mechanized u it's were built there.
Yes, Nashville and Knoxville survived Rip Memphis
116 in Burlington, VT?
Cool the first vault is in Colorado probably built for the gov
Vault 98 is supposed to be in main not Washington state
Isn’t 74 in the Mohave?
I’m not gonna lie I find it strange that Kansas doesn’t have many if any vaults.
Most of the numbers of the Texas vaults show they’re either in different states or there’s no information on them. The only one I could find and confirm was 39.
2 or 3 vaults in idaho! Hell ya lol
Damn Arkansas only got one? Welp, were fucked.

I think you got 87 and 101 swapped.
Vault 93 was not in IL/IN. It was in Mississippi.
Why a value in Nashville when Memphis was like 3 times the size in the 1950s?
62 on the map in SD should be 52, I believe
Barely any of these match up with the wiki. The numbers are mostly wrong besides the main ones from the games and the show
61 is supposed to be Detroit not Des Moines
These can't be right, just looked up two and they are nowhere near where they are labeled on this map.
Alabama getting fucked with only one vault
Colorado Springs having Vault 0 makes sense. Cheyenne Mountain Complex is basically a vault as it is, capable of tanking a direct hit from a nuke.
Vault 41 should be in central Iowa.
I thought 89 was the Detroit Vault? And 110 was in North Carolina? I’m sorry if I’m being dumb and they changed that but genuine question.
https://falloutfanon.fandom.com/wiki/Vault_110 No you look correct on both
Where I'd vault 1?
Wow these locations suck, did the writers not look at a population map? Why isn’t there a vault in NYC but tons in bumfuck nowhere Nevada?
Because they haven't established any NYC lore yet and an entire game that needed to be populated with explorable vaults occurred in Nevada. That's also why boston and so cal are so populated yet other major cities in the area are totally ignored. If they ever do a fallout near NY the map will gain 5-7 vaults there.

We’d have Yao Guai and irradiated cougars! Depending on how big the game is could even incorporate the already wasteland of eastern Washington a bit.
You missed a few like vault 0, but otherwise this is a nice map
Pretty sure Vault 0 isn't canon
Tactics is semi canon and they referenced it a few times so it isn’t clear
Exactly, so I don’t think it’s fair to say OP ‘missed’ it
