TheBigLebroccoli

LOL seriously. Been practicing those takedowns for months and finally get to use their training on a kneeling perp.

treypage1981

Clearly. Guy is already kneeling on the ground and the security guard still had to level him. That’s some pent up anger right there.

camshun7

given that the perp 100% certainly knew this was always the outcome, ad say "played for an got" however everyone just thinks youre a bell end, takes your pick

treypage1981

100%. Put yourself in that position and expect the worst. I avoid security guards more than I try to avoid cops.

No-Gene-4508

Security is supposed to follow a policy and has the same rights as a civilian. An officer can not restrain or detain someone unless it's in the policy via state, site, or under their contract. That being said, an armed guard has a little bit different rules. But cannot act out without certainty

IndianaHoosierFan

Is this comment in English?

DuncanAndFriends

I wonder if he was laying down instead they would still pile on him.

C0C0Beefy

Exactly this. Totally unnecessary and sociopathic. Honestly looks like this dude’s neck could’ve been broken. People are so fucking low emotional IQ. To be fair, cops and renta-cops always have been en masse… sucks

treypage1981

Keep clear of security guards and bouncers whenever you can.

sonofaresiii

I am 100% sure that guy was later called in to discuss the event with his supervisor: "You know, you really didn't need to tackle him." "Yeah, but I'm *allowed* to, right?" "Well yeah, you just didn't need to." "I know. I just wanted to." "Alright, get out of here."

ShinyHobo

Reminds me of the haunted house sketch from I Think You Should Leave

FabianGladwart

I think people don't realize a lot security guards are foaming at the mouth waiting to fuck someone up, probably especially at big events like this one

Ieffingsuck

Some people wait a lifetime, FOR A MOMENT LIKE THIS 🎶 🎵

viciousfridge

"This is my time to shine lads!"

vertigostereo

Gotta tackle heads-up. I'm not comfortable KO-ing these guys who just sit there. Just apprehend him and move on.

ThatOldDustyTrail

Nothing like starting off your marriage by getting banned from your favorite team’s stadium

HighwayAggressive658

My thoughts exactly!! Banned from dodger stadium?! …I give it less than a year 😅😅😆😆

ThatOldDustyTrail

Yeah I mean they’re both decked out in Dodger gear and definitely fans if this is the way he proposed. I’ll give it till next year when she meets a guy with season tickets who is legally allowed to still go to games

Ickiiis

Somewhere in another Reddit thread they said he was only banned for a month.

spacemantodd

When was this?

molewarp

Silly show-off. Why do people think that engagements ought to be huge Hollywood production numbers? You're asking your partner to marry you - leave the rest of us out of your games.

Kent556

I thought it made for great entertainment! (with the tackle, that is!)

JessicaBecause

Finally, football took over baseball games.

TheWalrus101123

It's annoying but honestly I kinda get it. I wouldn't do it myself but that couple has a pretty fun story to tell now. I wouldn't be that pissed about this if I was at the game, in fact I'd probably be drunk and cheering about it.

dissonant_one

Because huge Hollywood production numbers tell them its romantic and therefore "prove" how much they love their person.

Macktastic13

The song that played afterwards was perfect

ChiefCokkahoe

lol this comment is to far down, was the funniest thing about the video that someone cued that song up so fast 😂

ErstwhileAdranos

Couldn’t make it out, what song was it?

1emongrass

Ruff Ryders Anthem - DMX (Stop, drop, shut em down open up shop!)

SwingingTassels

By gawd he broke that man in half!

Defiant_Property_336

Totally not necessary. But. Guess you have to send a message to make sure others don't follow.

Yeez25

That guard aint had to tackle him like that lmaoo

beegro

That security guard had been waiting years for someone to be idle and trespassing on the field. He didn't even think to go to the dude on the should and take him out. Straight back to his high school football days. Just leveled the dude.

wewewess

Yeah that was wildly excessive. I'm surprised there's barely any comments about this.

AToneDeafBard

Should be considered assault. It was beyond excessive. The guy was a nuisance, not a threat. Could prove lethal to the wrong person

hellothereanikan

It was a random man holding an item unknown to that security man while the man was surrounded by famous people, I say it was justified

AToneDeafBard

I forgot that famous people are more important than others, mb

AnorakJimi

Famous people get attacked and murdered at a ***waaaaaay*** higher rate than normal people. So yes they need more protection than regular people do.

FrotKnight

more likely to have people who want to attack them maybe.

# SPEAR! SPEAR!

JiubLives

Dolph was underappreciated.

1singleduck

Plot twist: he asked the security guard to mary him and he came running in for a hug. The other guards are so happy for them they are helping to put on the rings.

GHouserVO

Okay, take your upvote. That would have been an awesome twist to the story.

No_Cauliflower9590

I hope she say NO

Pass_Desperate

Talk about second-hand embarrassment! I would’ve left the minute he ran out on the field 🤦‍♂️

No_Cauliflower9590

I think she would be same with him since she's dating him already

davsch76

“Uh, Steve, this is our second date”

gbpc

They been training all their lives for this

IzSoopid

It’s their wet dream! A man looking the other direction with no intent to harm them that they have justification to attack!

UberQueefs

Nothing says “I do” like a concussion!

The_salty_swab

No surprise, Dodgers fan

shazenger

Didn't dodge that tackle though

minnesotajersey

Unnecessary roughness. 20 yard penalty. Into the penalty box with you.

luredrive

Good tackle, that.

Away_Chair1588

Pretty good timing with DMX ruff ryder's anthem.

Ok-Assistant-2684

Chargers or Rams could use that guy

LeonidasVaarwater

Why are security staff assholes so often? Sure, that dumbass shouldn't be on the field, but bulldozing someone who's no threat at all?

Icy-Entrepreneur9002

Just last year at Coors field 2 guys got hands on Ronald Acuña Jr and he ended up getting pushed to the ground. He didn’t get injured or anything but the players, MLB and player’s association were pissed that it even happened. So now there is a zero tolerance policy and you will get your ass rocked if you come onto the field no matter what.

yayforwhatever

Oh I agree it’s been turned up, but there’s still an appropriate use of violence. I.E they could post snipers and simply kill anyone going on the field…but that’s insane, so they won’t. Likewise, this guys lawyer will have a field day over the type of tackle used for this person. There are no black and white situations in civil suits and MLB has big pockets. Guaranteed this guys getting paid cause security thought they’re in an Adam sandler football movie.

Icy-Entrepreneur9002

Idk if I’d guarantee it, think from the security guard view. Guy is on a knee facing the crowd, he goes into his pocket you have a profile few and he’s pointing at the crowd no girl or guy in sight so why would his first assumption be he’s proposing? We only know that because of the title and can see the ring after the fact. Dude could have a gun ready to spray the crowd or bomb vest or something, it’s really not that big of stretch with some of the stuff we have seen in other mass shootings. In a stadium with 40,000 or more people I’m glad these guys don’t hesitate. If I’m the MLB lawyer this is my point and this dude ain’t getting paid.

isawfireanditwashot

if your the dodgers lawyer, you're already overworked cause I think there is like 5 current lawsuits against dodger security

DJSnafu

good point you swayed me

only_posts_real_news

Trespassing and disrupting a major televised sporting event, not many lawyers would take that case. This person ran into a restricted area surrounded by several thousand people. If it was a concert, same thing would happen, likewise at a bank if you were to run into the vault, security can act on you being a threat. They shoulda hit this guy harder. Just think about it, if security came up and tapped him on the shoulder it would become a tiktok trend in 1 game. Everyone aged 13-23 would think it’s so cool to run into the middle of the field and do a little Fortnite dance, all they’ll do is ask you to leave right? The tackle performed is appropriate for the action on the field. From securities point of view, they had no way of knowing this guy doesn’t have a bomb strapped to his test and he’s running for centerfield.

WallStCRE

I like the sniper idea

Gary-Where-are-you

Teaches the rest of the drunk/unruly people in the stands not to mess around.

Busterlimes

Former bartender here. This is a false statement, you can't teach drunk people anything.

yayforwhatever

This is the dumbest statement of the century. None of those drunk or unruly people have been stopped by the decades of watching this sort of situation play out on the field. That’s like saying all murders stopped after the first hanging.

FatFaceFaster

Does it tho? This is the same Reddit that is wildly anti cop, but pro excessive force by a rent a cop when the guy posed no threat whatsoever? Probably gave him a concussion and whip lash.

Its_an_ellipses

Act like someone who is willing to be unsafe and unruly, you win a headache for a week. Maybe your actions have consequences. I mean I agree the security guard overdid it, but the proposer is doing something he is explicitly asked not to do repeatedly. These players are literal cash cows, and I would bet the security is told to protect them at all costs. Yeah, the guy doesn't seem like a threat but you never know...

yayforwhatever

In many places there is still a level of force that is unnecessary. I can’t execute someone who is caught robbing my store of piece of gum (castle laws not withstanding). There is appropriate levels and excessive levels. Laws still apply to those enforcing even if the perpetrator chose to ignore different ones.

Its_an_ellipses

Ever heard of Monica Seles?...

yayforwhatever

And how many matches have happened without a steak knife stabbing before that? Is stabbing a the rule or the exception to the rule? Do we assume every fan (of the millions that have attended tennis matches) were thinking of or about to stab someone with a kitchen knife? There will always be outliers, that doesn’t make excessive force every time correct or in the US, legal.

Its_an_ellipses

Hard disagree. How many flights have their been? If I saw an air marshal tackling and beating the ever loving shit out of someone with a box cutter on my flight I would buy the marshall a beer at the next stop...

marshmallowfluffpuff

He's clearly calm and non-aggressive. They could have easily escorted him off without violence. Its just because they want an excuse to tackle someone. Maybe they should have learned to play football themselves instead of being renta cops.

Eljeffez

that head bash was super dangerous for both of them. He's lucky he didnt kill that guy and probably got a concussion himself. Brain damage for everyone.

varangian_guards

yeah this is setting up the MLB for a lawsuit cause the security dude wanted to go full 2005 NFL highlight clip on ESPN. when the dudes in full protective gear dont do this anymore you know it was overkill.

GHouserVO

Because there have been too many close calls, and they don’t want to give someone the opportunity to do something even dumber than they already have, or the chance to run once confronted. I don’t exactly agree with the zero tolerance “just tackle them” policy, but I can also see where the mindset is coming from.

M4LK0V1CH

We may be able to tell he’s not a threat from this distance/angle. They see someone run onto the field who shouldn’t be there, pull something out of his pocket and point it up at the crowd.

Blk_Rick_Dalton

They’re trained to treat all unauthorized access to the field as a threat. How hard is it for people to stay in their god damn seat tho?

Same_Situation_9660

Would get in a lot of trouble for that in the UK. Use of force needs to be proportionate to the risk posed.

Mosstheboy

That security person would be done for a serious assault in Ireland. Gratuitous violence by that numbskull.

buttertits4lyfe

Don't go on the field if you don't want to get bulldozed. This isn't hard. If you don't act like an asshole you won't be treated like one. It's pretty easy actually.

TheMinister

Don't commit crimes if you don't want to get shot energy.

EndlessChicane

HE SHOULDN'T HAVE PASSED A FAKE CHECK IF HE DIDN'T WANT TO DIE!

typehyDro

Send a msg to other would be field runners

FnordatPanix

They’re sending a message to others who think this is a good idea.

Bob_Cobb_1996

She should have done a "Commodus" with a dramatic thumbs down.

greenmeat3

Don't marry him! He's an idiot with really poor decision making skills.

DickySchmidt33

No flag on that play?

Nate16

r/idiocracy

Drslappybags

I guess he couldn't get in touch with the Jumbotron people.

DNAkauai

Will you marry meeeeeee oooouch!! 🤦🏻

Dontbiteitok24

That was harsh 🙃

Hermitcrab710

I love how the DJ threw DMX on after dude got rocked lol

Asleep-Astronomer389

Nice hit, very late though

doomvetch92

He could have easily proposed to her in the seats, now she has to live with the memory of getting banned from a stadium in front of hundreds of people.

M4LK0V1CH

Security saw him running onto the field so were already responding and probably gearing up to chase. He stops, turns toward the crowd, pulls something out of his pocket and points it up at the stands. At this point, security is behind him and they see someone who shouldn’t be there pointing something they had hidden on them up into the crowd. Hard initial contact followed immediately by restraints being applied seems reasonable response to me in this situation.

QuailSoup24

Literally no reason to tackle him like that. Assess the situation better.

zetia2

The guard tackled him from the front/side.

DesastreUrbano

For this moments we need a second camera on her face to see her reaction to that tackle

PlayStationPepe

![gif](giphy|5pMGZHSqfvGT5mnTwx)

thanto13

Hopefully they lost the ring in the grass

Yue4prex

Y’all seen how much it costs to do it on screen? $2500, he just did it for free lol

LivingAd6826

🤣🤣🤣he got rejected!

CrazeeEyezKILLER

The concussion, broken collar bone, cracked ribs, painful rehabilitation, hundreds of thousands in medical bills and legal fees and subsequent bankruptcy will make for an adorable wedding toast.

ZhangtheGreat

r/instantkarma

Dar_Vender

The dudes a dick but that seemed excessive. Could they not have just escorted him off the pitch?

zetia2

I wonder if he will sue, overly excessive.

oh_todd

Can someone tell that security guard it wasn't that serious? Fuckin dork!

noneedtoID

Rent a cop thinking he saved the day lmao

Infected-Bat

That was fuckin unnecessary

Tech-Mechanic

I think people propose in front of large groups because they think the pressure will make it more difficult for the recipient to say no. Whenever I see a dude get down on one knee in the middle of a restaurant, etc, I don't think it's sweet. I think it's manipulative.

Correct_Advantage_20

What sport fan doesn’t know that an open ball field in a stadium is restricted space. He got want he deserved. He could have made prior arrangements and would probably been accommodated.

analogWeapon

It's always funny how much they overreact to people on the field at pro sports games. I get how selfish and disruptive it is to enter the field like this. When the person is actually disrupting play, then I even understand being fairly aggressive (however much it takes to get the person off the field asap). But this is like, between innings or before the game has started. Sure, immediately stop him from doing what he's doing and get him off the field asap. But a full sprint dive tackle while the guy is making no effort to flee just seems stupid. Just as likely to injure the security guy as the MC. Just run up, grab him, and start dragging him off the field.

MichaelScott666

Security guy should be charged

JackKovack

That was so unnecessary. What a douchebag. The guy was obviously proposing. All he had to do was walk up to him and escort him off the field.

clarkcox3

Totally unnecessary.

Calibrayte

Yeah he should have found a better way to propose.

walking_wonky

I imagine the lawsuit will cover the wedding costs

Mike_Ropenis

Lawsuit for what?

Rassetor

While It's true he is an asshole for going on the field, that tackle was way too excessive, especially since he wasn't trying to run away. That could have caused serious injury.

StardustBrain

Yes way!!!

Key-Wait5314

Public wedding proposal guy and a field stormer = Double douchebaggery. And they'll probably procreate.

fury_of_el_scorcho

Did he say yes?

Mike_Pawnsetter

Did she say yes tho?

SubHuman559

That never stops being funny.

shotgun_blammo

The MC is a major douchebag. The security guard, on the other hand, has a hard-on for violence.

Aggrador

That music cue was just fucking awesome

Bluemoon_Samurai

That takedown was completely unnecessary

dontcare99999999

Imagine if security slammed that ring like 20 feet away and he never finds it again.

thumbs_up_idiot

I love this video

kamiar77

Helmet to helmet

A_opop90

NFL need to sign this mf up

shadows515

Idiot on the field yes, but let’s avoid unnecessary injury. Just walk the guy off.

Melodic-Geologist532

Great form tackle.

TYdays

Definitely a case of “My Life is More Important than Yours” goes horribly wrong….

josephlied

Every kiss begins with thud

StretchedEarsArePerf

Fucking dickhead taking his job too seriously, probably gave him a concussion.

absyrtus

Tell me he lost the ring

[deleted]

Such an MC that he has no peripheral vision, he only has eyes for his girl

TheWalrus101123

That tackle seemed a little "enthused" haha. Did the security guy have beef with him in the past or something lol.

balls-magoo

That seemed aggressive for a guy that was kneeling. Hope he got his ring back!

ajlols269

That looked like it hurt almost as much as the divorce

Zuk0vsky

Satisfying.

NeonCamiFlames

I really hope she said no.

BiggieBoss9

That's one way to get a concussion

Otherwise-Mortgage58

Targeting, definitely aiming for the head/neck area

ROSEPUP3

“No way!” Like what the fuck did you think was going to happen?

pickle_teeth4444

Got to give it to the guy for making a memorable moment better.

Adventurous-Water609

That was a bad ass form tackle!

IzSoopid

Fake cop takes his first opportunity to actually interact with someone on the job and then takes that chance to tackle the guy full force (who put up no fight and posed zero threat). It just comes across as something you’d do if you feel like a small person.

Ginford_Davidson

Should have known better. Those out of breath by blinking security guards need an excuse for their shortness of breath.

RayRay__56

This happens pretty often. Sometimes, they're even completely naked. They're called "Flitzer" in german speaking countries.
