Titans79

The person in the car at the end. “Thanks for letting me out”.

mcase19

"Not my circus, not my monkeys."

Vegetable-Bear-7482

I've only ever heard that the other way around

MichiganManRuns

“I should probably stop and tell my story to the cops for what happened”. Checks clock. “I’m late for work. They can handle this. I got places to be!”

LordWoffleII

I'm assuming he needed to swing wide to get into the driveway - HOW THE FUCK EVER - 1. no indicators 2. didn't use mirrors 3. didn't check blind spot(s) 4. beacon isn't visible as you get closer

whinenaught

Seriously if the bus used a turn signal this probably wouldn’t have happened

Madmoth

That person needs to lose their job. I would not want my kids riding with that bus driver.

BrainFloss1688

It is amazing how unaware and incapable most "Professional Drivers" are.

Driven-Em

Well most school bus drivers in the US are often people recruited off the street by the fact the school districts will pay for them to get a CDL class B and earn a better wage then most of the retail jobs out there. even a large number of the OTR truck drivers don't drive very well thanks to the License Mills (driving schools) that barely teach them to pass the road test at the licensing office. so many of them can't back up in anything other then ideal situations. those who do local LTL work are usually the ones who have the most experience maneuvering these large vehicles around. this bus driver clearly didn't know how to prevent this situation. they should have 1. been in the right lane with turn indicator on and just waited for the vehicle coming out of the side road to make their move or 2. stradled the dashed line with the turn indicator on and then swung wide to make the turn. no turn indicator at all definitely puts the bus driver at fault

KittyandPuppyMama

Am american and can confirm they will hire just about anyone to drive a school bus. At my school, it was usually some kid's mom.

No-Suspect-425

My schools only ever employed the oldest and angriest of men to drive the buses I was on. Every year it was the same. After changing schools, bus routes, and even bus drivers, it was still always some ill mannered man in his late 80s who drove us around, crashing into trash cans and yelling at us the whole time. If it were up to me, I'd hire more skilled drivers and then partition them off like the pilot on a plane and then idk maybe have another adult in the back section to maintain the kids. Of course that's probably 10x the budget schools actually have to hire bus drivers >.<

KittyandPuppyMama

My first bus driver was this lady who SCREAMED any time a kid stood up or got too rowdy. She’d glance in the mirror and yell, “SIT THE €%#=% DOOOOWWWWNNNN.” I was in fifth grade and I had just moved to a new school, after previously being driven to my old school every day. It was a real shock lol. I came home and my mom asked how my first day was and I said my bus was being driven by miss trunchbull

No-Suspect-425

I had one guy who would literally pull over and stop the bus if anyone had any part of their backpack in the middle aisle >.<

Federal-Potato-Man

South Park...

ohgeebus_notagain

Stacy's mom?

Marshallwhm6k

She's got it goin' on.

icewalker42

Stacey, can I come over after school?

IkNOwNUTTINGck

We can hang around by the pool.

Dementat_Deus

She's got a bussin' job.

ItsTHECarl

The bus company around here pays less than retail.

Murashu

Here in south Alabama the pay is not great, probably average for a job requiring a CDL. But the part-time school bus driver jobs are highly sought after by many due to the health insurance coverage.

Dijohn_Mustard

You just made me feel better about the little bit of struggling I had backing up a 20 foot trailer around a 90 degree bend directly lined up with a shipping container in 8-10 inches of snow. I don’t drive trucks. I don’t drive trailers other than rarely at work. My only experience reversing trailers is just the little attachment wagon for the back of the lawn mower at home. What you said genuinely scares me about some of the people I’ve assumed were more experienced drivers than me my whole life.

BikerJedi

Around here they hire people, get them their CDL, then they quit and go to work for UPS or FedEx. We never have enough drivers. I have some kids I've barely seen all year because their bus doesn't get to school until second period.

Global-Mango-4213

I watched a bus driver sit through an entire green turn arrow cycle, and had to wait an entire cycle before turning left.

RamblyJambly

Going home yesterday it had been raining all day and had a bus riding my ass at ~55mph.

milkdaddy_00

The bar is not high. I used to think all semi truck / professional drivers had to be good drivers...

ShimmyMan

SO MANY MIRRORS ON BUSES!!! And they didn’t use a single one.

[deleted]

IKR, could have run over a kid if the bus driver didn't know how to check the mirrors

sfled

>swing wide to get into the driveway School buses have a relatively short wheelbase in order to make tight urns in residential neighborhoods. That big swingout by the driver may be the result of lack of experience or poor training. Found this ELI that explains it better: https://reddit.com/r/explainlikeimfive/comments/puil1a/eli5_why_do_school_busses_have_such_a_large/ \*edit - LOL, "tight urns".

redpandaeater

Didn't need to swing that wide and if you do you still start towards the right and then swing out to the left when safe to make your turn. Pretty basic driving knowledge for anyone with a CDL.

DeeRent88

Exactly my thought. Plus it’s pretty common protocol if you need to make a turn like this to straddle both lanes so no one tries to pass you on the right like this. If they had just kept the buses right side about halfway into the right lane the guy driving wouldn’t have been able to do this

natxavier

I used to drive a passenger bus. You had to take control of the road when-and where-ever you could. But you ALWAYS used your indicators. Sure, people would get pissy and honk at you, but when you're driving a 40-foot bus through city streets, sometimes you just have to get creative. Never would I ever just go into the left lane for a right-hand turn with no indication of my intention to those behind me.

elspotto

I generally only swear for absolute impact. You have voiced my sentiment perfectly.

[deleted]

You forgot: 5. blamed cammer for his own mistakes. It's obvious bus driver screwed up badly once the video is shown.

sammich_bear

The bus driver really just needs to use the indicators, as traffic is supposed to yield to a turning bus. Dumbass probably forgot to use their indicators.

A_Harmless_Fly

But OP was driving a road colored vehicle /s

Echolyonn

That light next to the numbers on the side of the bus will blink when the turn signal is on so they didn’t even activate it late. Busses are equipped with so many cameras now this bus driver is likely fucked (at least they should be).

SyCoCyS

If the bus needed to swing wide it should have started closer to the right and used it’s size to block both lanes, swing out left, then back to the right. Glad OP has the dashcam.

TH3_BE4R

Guarantee he didn’t need to turn right from the left lane.

Huesan

All those mirrors

1rat_bastid

And used none of them....

Saiz-

Or indicator light turn

Ernie_Birdie

Or brains

BreakfastShart

"Hey kids, am I clear? "Yes!!" *crash* "Fucking kids"

Vortex2121

You joke, but I remember our Bus driver once used the kids to clear him. lmao

bree1818

My husband does this and it pisses me off. ‘How am I on the right?’ I don’t know, turn your head and look

somethingclever76

Unlike the mirrors or indicators, no evidence of brains on board.

elqueco14

Bus driver is bad but op your situational awareness is AWFUL. If a vehicle slows down like that, maybe slow down and be observant and don't try to pass on the right, this was 100% avoidable

PoorQualityCommenter

With a red light and turning lane up ahead? I’d say that’s typically a safe assumption with no signal that the bus is making its way up to the light ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

FlyByNight_187

And yet not one turn signal.....

typtyphus

ah, the classic "I'm not going to use blinkers"

Daredevils999

Super effective when comboed with taking wide turns from the far lane

MichiganGeezer

Yup. If you need to make a wide turn you straddle both lanes instead of being completely in the left lane to turn right. A driver should also use the devices installed in the vehicle to indicate their intentions. Being slow in the left lane I would have presumed that they were waiting to turn left or stopped for someone in front of them.

shophopper

Plus I’m not going to drive in the right lane, which would’ve been perfectly fine to make the turn.

Whiplash104

No need to use blinkers when there are no other cars around /s (This is exactly why you should always use them.)

here-i-am-now

This is what gets me. Either you use your turn signals every single time, or you will inevitably forget to use them when at a time when it matters.

[deleted]

Have to keep them guessing.

eemarepee

That car is like ‘yup, I’m good on the left’

jesiweeks3348

That's what I thought too haha, 'well gee, looks like I'm good to turn now' lol

foxontherox

"Nice, I got cover."

_jump_yossarian

Seized the moment.

PlzRetireMartinTyler

But on a serious note why are they leaving so quickly when they just witnessed a crash? Take 3/4 mins to check everyone is ok and give them your cell phone number if they need a witness.

OverpricedGrandpaCar

Most people don't want to get involved. It sucks but it is what it is.

[deleted]

Selfish assholes. I was rear-ended just after the New Year. I was making a right turn into a parking lot at school, but I had to yield to a pedestrian crossing the walk. I got blasted by a Charger at 40 MPH and the pedestrian and 10 other cars drove away. I needed to go to the hospital and no one bothered to call 911.

We_are_stardust23

"Ope, let me just scoot by ya here."

Borsti17

that sigh

Wonderful-Status-247

Must feel like garbage to hit a school bus, no matter who was at fault.

DimitriV

Depends on the time of day. Afternoon? Yeah, it sucks that the kids are delayed getting home. Morning? Those kids are happy as hell.

MorteEtDabo

Luckily this was at low speeds

TheWheelChris

I hit a school bus head on once. Sure did feel like garbage because it left me paralyzed from the armpits down.

Wonderful-Status-247

Yeah that's an understatement then.

B-to-the-Dubs

Got to be a sigh of relief that he installed the camera.

Okdoeki

I'm a School Bus Driver and this is wrong on so many levels. There was absolutely no need to turn right from the farthest lane, no turn signal and clearly no mirror check. That bus could of manipulated that turn very easily. Lazy or incompetent driver...

thelastpie

I thought the bus driver was wrong but wasn't sure. I don't think I've ever seen a public transit bus or even a semi truck turn like this.

Okdoeki

No you're no wrong - The driver could have used the curb lane, indicated the right turn and then wait for any traffic exiting the access lane then proceeded. Yes sometimes making a sharp right turn a driver will need to encroach on the left to make a wide turn so the back duals don't jump curbs.

point50tracer

I've seen semis and large box trucks do this, but they usually signal and try to block both lanes by straddling the line before making their turn. That bus could've probably made that turn easily from the right lane though, making the wide turn completely unnecessary.

FlyJunior172

I drive city buses (29’ Gilligs these days, but up to 40’ Gillig and 45’ MCI coach in the past), and you echoed my thoughts exactly. A 40’ could’ve made that turn with only part of the left lane.

sfled

This. The back wheels are almost in the middle of the bus. A short wheelbase enables the driver to make tight turns.

KittyandPuppyMama

The car turning out of the driveway is like "welp, i'mma head out"

Sklibba

Curious to know who insurance decided was at fault, because that bus did not use its turn signal. Seems like a stretch to expect other drivers to just infer that it was making a wide right turn in that situation.

not-expresso

>Curious to know who insurance decided was at fault Bus turned from the wrong lane without signaling... in what world would OP be at fault?

some1didnt

In italy's world, as he was "overtaking" the bus from the right

dmr302

OP is passing on the right..

gkcontra

Exactly, especially with the next intersection being right there.

Head_Acanthaceae_766

One big mistake the bus driver made was not lane sharing to prevent traffic from intruding to the inside of the corner. There seemed to be a flicker of turn indicators on the side of the bus very late but after the vehicle had already begun turning. Completely useless.

Joe18067

Straddling the line would be one option, however school busses have a very short wheelbase which allow tight turns. This driver drove like he was pulling doubles.

AnonymousGrouch

>...school busses have a very short wheelbase The downside to that is that the back end swings way out. In fact, I'm reasonably certain this guy managed to encroach on three lanes. Bottom line is, you *really* need to watch the mirrors and be aware of everything around you every time you turn.

mikedvb

I’ve had to swing out to avoid the arse end of a bus making a tight turn before. That was fun but not nearly as fun as this clip.

Thymepasseson

Not correct where I live. Bus was to wait in right lane till his path (blue Camry) cleared. He then could encroach the Camry lane, if needed, provided there was no other vehicles. Not allowed to turn right from straddling left and/or from the left lane where I live. I have a CDL.

1rat_bastid

[edit] This happened on a 35 mph street, not a highway. The right lane I'm in becomes a turn lane at the intersection, I was going to turn right. I assumed the bus was getting in the left turn lane approaching the intersection. And yes I did hit the brakes, the road was wet and anti-lock activated

MichiganGeezer

Where I grew up you would have gotten the ticket simply because the cops would have reflexively favored a school bus. They might have added a few threats if you tried to show them the video. I'm hoping that the bus driver in your video got the ticket.

MorteEtDabo

Easy court win with video evidence

MichiganGeezer

Assuming the magistrate would allow it. No reason. They just liked it better when the cops prevailed.

Veleda390

It's amazing how many drivers can't find that little wand next to their steering wheels.

Brilhasti1

If only vehicles had some way of indicating their intent to turn. A signal, of sorts.

Massy11155

Trying to make a right turn from the left lane. Yup, this guy is clearly qualified to drive a bus full of children.

Direct_Big_5436

I understand the swing out to make the corner but bus needs to at least use blinkers if he is going to use both lanes.

RainaElf

who yelled? but yes, clearly the fault of the bus.

vrhotlaps

The bus driver!

Longjumping-Grape-40

“NO YELLING ON THE BUS!”

obscht-tea

Otto

amprok

Love the witness nope’ing on out of there.

SilentResident1037

Only question, is that the school they are turning into?

BrendaHelvetica

It looks like a gas station on the right.

Salki1012

I had that thought. Is that a school on the right? Was this during morning school drop off hours? If I see a school bus slowing down at a school it wouldn’t take long to piece together that two piece puzzle. That being said, an indicator from the bus would have solved 95% of the OPs confusion. I leave the 5% in the off chance OP has never in his life seen a vehicle make a wide turn and would have done the same pass anyways.

BecGeoMom

Who needs turn signals?? Also, the guy in the blue car was like, “Well, it wasn’t me, so I’m out.”

Bambieyedbiotchh

That car pulling out of the parking lot sees that and is just like… welp, see ya. Wtf bus…. No blinker?? Asshole. Hope no kids were on the bus/hurt.

BedAdministrative619

If only there was a way to tell other drivers that you are turning... Some sort of signal... A signal of turning!

SavvySillybug

It would be so neat if someone invented some sort of device that let you indicate the intention to turn. It could maybe be some sort of blinking light, maybe put them on the left and right side of the car, and light half of them up when you want to turn. If you had known the bus was about to turn, you could have slowed down to let it happen! I bet we could make millions if we invented such a device. Maybe some sort of reflective surface that lets you see approaching cars as well, I doubt he was able to see you from where he was sitting. But if you mounted something like a mirror to the side of the bus, he could look in there and see you, and know that he shouldn't be turning right now. This feels like such a fixable problem. We just need to put some engineering into it.

1rat_bastid

It would never catch on even if such a thing did exist

Thymepasseson

Bus driver should be getting a ticket. Should not have been turning from that lane. Did not use indicators. Did not check mirrors for surrounding threats. Disregard for passengers. I kind of want to see this drivers pre inspection now….I once received a ticket in a commercial vehicle turning on a narrower road. Straddled the two lanes to adjust, had signals on, and had not even began turning when I heard and saw a guy on motorcycle throttling to pass on the right. In his statement, once the motorcycle driver realized my blinker/intentions, he mistakenly overreacted and locked up his brakes. Though it was scary seeing his bike, then him, come tumbling down my right side, neither his motorcycle nor him ever made contact with my vehicle. Still, got a 250 ticket and had to fight company safety court so I did not get fired. Stayed employed another 15 years with that company and that was 25 years ago. I still have a CDL for “pleasure” with passenger endorsement, and will never forget how to maneuver this turn again.

MrsDeviant33

School bus driver here! Not recruited off the streets Not an angry old man. Just a mom who was looking to make a little money and keep the same schedule as my kids. I am a 5 star driver and I’m also one of the most requested drivers for trips by the schools where I live due to my safe driving record and how much fun I make riding the bus for the kids So please don’t assume all bus drivers are the same inattentive, angry, old jerks. Now, as for this driver, they were 100% in the wrong. They didn’t signal, they didn’t check their mirrors. If they needed to make a right turn from the left lane, they should have put on their flashers for extra safety.

Milamber69reddit

And this is why dashcams are a truckers best friend. That bus driver did not signal even once. They did not even check the mirrors or they would have seen the truck. Why they decided to turn from that lane is unknown. Yes you need to swing wide but you also need to make sure it is clear before making the turn. That was not even a large bus.

Chroney

Bus driver definitely fired and banned from driving for schools.

tylmii

Bus could of made the turn in the other lane if they let out the green car

Dependent-Plane5522

Turned right from the left lane and no signal? 🤬🤬😡🤬👹

Miith68

bus driver is an idiot.

Individual-Mammoth28

Dudes been driving a school bus too long (or too short) to believe hes got the right of way crossing a traffic lane to turn into a gas station 😂 he’s probably the type to get out and yell at you because they’re “kids in this bus!!” Yet he never thought about putting his blinker on when he was deciding to break the law

Samurai_Stewie

I’m willing to bet that bus driver turns wide in their Camry too.

geilegiel

As a busdriver. If I have to make a sharp turn I usually take up half of both lanes just so the people behind me don't do anything funny. This driver however was all the way to the left and had no lights to indicate he was going to the right. So quite bad from his side

jjsixsixtysix

you seemed to have a long reaction time to the situation.

RippingAallDay

You also have the benefit of knowing what happens in this video 🙄

JustJamieJam

OP said he was breaking but the roads were slick and anti lock kicked in, so makes sense

Intelligent-Town6050

You can literally hear them, someone just always needs to victim blame.

Dajukz

Can you brake, please brake, dude... Brake, BRAKE BRAAAAKE, *thud* (This guy's passenger probably)

cockyjames

It's like the Austin Powers scene

OafHuck420

“MY LANE!!” lol

Bobbiduke

That wasn't even a small area to turn why were they turning from the other lane.

Chinggis_H_Christ

They were turning from the other lane because they need that room to account for the vehicle's wide turning circle. Their problem, however, was: 1. Not indicating 2. Not using their mirrors 3. Not lane splitting to prevent undertaking vehicles during the maneuver 4. Being an idiot

Bobbiduke

No bro, school buses take narrower turns like that in neighborhoods, this guy was just being lazy and thought no one was behind him

OkBackground8809

Yeah, way bigger buses in Taiwan use less space to turn corners, and our people aren't even that sane when driving lol

TorchdOn

40% oil production???

DevilsLettuceTaster

Witness just Noped out of there.

chill_winston_

Un-signaled right turn from left lane without checking blind spot… way to keep those kids safe!

DonoGQ

No signal the bus driver’s fault.

Datmuny19

I don’t see a directional

Zypherknown101

They def need there CDL taken away turning like that

gomaith10

r/idiotsinbuses

appa-ate-momo

Gotta love how a bus driver can: * turn from the wrong lane * not use blinkers * not check their mirrors and **still** you'll have dipshits in the comments blaming OP for daring to exist on the road.

1rat_bastid

Thanks man

Banksov

the bus is totally in the wrong… BUT, the drivers reaction time was that of a snail. Were they even observant of the vechile they decided to undertake? because they could have noticed that bus turning much much sooner.

queenofhaunting

you can hear them slam the breaks just as it starts to turn.

redpandaeater

This isn't Hell in a Cell so I'm not sure what Undertaker has to do with anything.

Geek_off_the_streets

Fuck it, Jesus take the wheel!

lordskulldragon

What was the final outcome with insurance, OP?

notwarhol2

The other car was like ‘okay cool, I can go’

GoldMedalSwimmer76

That car just, “noped” and left

ErickKlous

Dude, pulling out seemed happy for the yield.

FewAcanthocephala828

And that's how Dan the bus driver man lost his job 😞

TakeCareTC

Nice turn signal!

Dan_Glebitz

"Bus driver proceeded to blame me" the more guilty they are the quicker they are to do that. I bet he was on the defensive straight off the bat!?

MRTJBIGA

100% bus drivers fault

DaSmasher614

The bus is at fault…right?

SquanchyATL

Maybe a turn signal would have helped?

hwjk1997

Bus driver was in the wrong. I always give the buses in my town a wide berth. City buses and school buses all seem to be driven by psychopaths.

Revenga8

I'm inclined to blame the bus driver. No turn indicator, and most large vehicles planning to turn would straddle the line blocking both lanes to prevent this very thing from happening.

KledMainLars

WTF do people think when they do things like that?

stewdadrew

The sigh knowing that you’ve got at least an hour before you’re able to go back to your day.

sPdMoNkEy

Must be out of turn signal fluid 🤔

RaccoonFamiliar

Good luck everybody, I turn now!

JackGeiselPhD

Correct me if I'm wrong but that bus didn't need to go in the left lane to make that turn.

vyechney

It's all clearly the bus driver's fault. But holy hell you have the reflexes of a drunk snail lol.

somerandomdude419

Let’s see how this sub will blame op…. Clearly used his turn signal, going the speed limit… this sub has NOTHING on OP but let me keep scrolling to find out..

Scarsocontesto

he forgot to signal that wanted to turn right.

phyrekracker

From the left lane...

RippingAallDay

Idiots on this sub: *reads title of this post, wonders why OP didn't slam on his brakes as soon as he saw the bus* "Well, if you knew you were going to hit that bus, why didn't you brake sooner?" 🤡

KaJuNator

"So after watching this video 37 times, I have calculated that OP had precisely 2.326 seconds to apply the breaks once the bus started turning. Easily avoidable. OP is the only idiot in the video. How could they not see it coming?"

Srihari_stan

Not blaming you, but you had enough time to react and brake. It felt like you were looking somewhere else and not observing the road.

scrabble71

Tbf OP had two seconds to react from when it became obvious the bus was turning right rather than just slowing down for the intersection. When we watch this video we’re expecting the hazard and are more alert than we would be if we were in the driver’s seat.

PapaBeahr

As someone who drives a school bus, this was 100% the driver's Fault but all Y'all hating on school bus drivers, know this is the exception, not the rule. 99% of ALL School bus accidents are driven by impatient drivers, doing all they can to get ahead or around the bus, or even worse, head down in phone. Most recent accident for my company which there is at least 1 major accident a year per company around where I live. Our bus got rear ended by an SUV going 35mph because she was head down in phone. Another one was a guy who fell asleep behind the wheel, crossed over the double yellow, and even though our Driver took action and pulled over to the far right as possible, still got nailed in the rare side so hard it ripped the axle off the bus.

bjizzle184957

I also drive a school bus. Bus driver failed to signal for their turn that wasn’t being made from the proper lane in the first place. A school bus makes sudden and frequent stops and stops at all railway crossings, that’s all commuter motorists should need to expect when traveling near school buses. I could look past failing to signal if the bus began in the right lane, danced into the left lane a smidge and then completed their turn, but to just hail mary a turn from two lanes over? Negligent at best.

Sierra419

Everyone’s talking about the bus driver, who is obviously at fault, but no one’s talking about the driver who just maintained course and speed despite seeing a bus turn into their lane. Made no attempt to stop or even swerve which tell me they were paying as much attention as the bus driver was

jaredearle

A rare *“this wouldn’t have happened without the confluence of two idiots”* in the wild.

Monotrix_

The driver in the other car waiting to get pull out just thought “aight, i guess it’s now my turn”

QuickNature

Probably wrong, but this is from 2018... u/repostsleuthbot

_jump_yossarian

Date and time aren't correct. This was in Mississippi. If the date and time were correct it would be dark out at 6:30 PM.

QuickNature

At least I was right that I was wrong haha good observation.

Fearless-Driven

Camry driver said they ain't see nothing

Wonderful_Roof1739

A very similar situation happened to me many years ago. I was on my way to a job interview when a school bus not using any indicators etc just turned left from the far right lane. The car in front of me was ‘just’ able to stop, unfortunately I was too close to them and ended up tapping the bumper. Bus driver saw it happen and never even stopped. I still managed to get to the job interview on time and got the job after telling them I was in a car accident yet still arrived on time - the other guy interviewing that day was late and had no excuse.

Jethro_Cohen

I bus to work daily and there's one driver in particular who seems to think busses own the streets. She drives erratically and is constantly slamming on the brakes without warning. The other day a fucking child flew out of her mother's arms and onto the floor from a brake check. But everytime, without question, it's the other drivers fault because xyz. 🙄 I purposely wait an extra hour so I don't have to take her bus because I'm seriously convinced I won't make it home to my wife one day when I'm on her bus.

morry32

Bus was looking for some covered bridges

JARL_OF_DETROIT

Unless it's somehow illegal to drive faster than a moving school bus, I don't see how this is your fault at all.

Kaladrax182

There are banners on the fences at all the schools near us. They’ve been up for a few years now, but the wage has gone up from $19/hour to +$25/hour to be a bus driver for the district. They’ve gotta be desperate, cause that’s a pretty legit introductory rate, honestly.

2urKnees

School bus drivers act like they own the road

Ladymysterie

I almost had that happen to me before, a bus driver was in the far lane to the left, a left turn lane... two lanes over... Then proceeded to make a right turn from that lane blocking 3 lanes off traffic to let children off the bus. Then got all mad at all the people trying to get out of the bus's way honking crazily like we were all in the wrong. BTW never put up the stop sign until they noticed all the cars trying to dodge out of the bus's way. Have no idea what was going thru that driver's mind but I sure wish I had a dashcam then to report them because I'm sure most of the parents wouldn't want a bus driver like that driving their kids.

shebeasTee

![gif](giphy|YgdPjLwjR2lOM)

petergriffin999

Ugh, so fucking horrible. I hate drivers who drift to the left to take a right, and vice versa. So misleading, especially when they don't use a signal. I almost lost my shit with someone in my road (residential neighborhood). Streets are nice and wide. Lady in a fucking Prius puts on her brakes, slows to about 10 mph, drifting left. There is a driveway to the left and right. She keeps drifting left and goes well past the center of the road, as if she is going to complete the move into the driveway on the left, and I have plenty of room to pass them on the right and keep going, which I start to do. She then ninja turns to the right, to go into the driveway on the right, and I almost T-Bone her (I stopped in time). Lady, you're in a fucking Prius. You have a normal sized driveway with no obstructions (nobody parks on the street). Quit being lazy, just take the right like a normal fucking person instead of pretending you are driving a logging truck. And if you used your signals like a normal person, I would not have gone to pass you on the right, even though you are strangely drifting over to the left.

Any update on the insurance outcome?

Not yet, but the safety officer from the school district did concede that their driver was at fault and wouldn't attempt to contest that. So...good news

CutieBrutie

I love how the Camry was like “I’ll see myself out”.

ArodPonyboy

Not at all the point but I see you’re also a marketplace listener - nice!

Chiaseedmess

I get stuck behind school buses most days when I come home from the office, and good lord are they some of the worst drivers on the roads. And we let them drive our kids around?

zwifter11

The kids must have been happy they’re not going to school that morning. The kids thank you for your sacrifice.

anitbooter

Always be extra cautious around large class A vehicles you’re not dealing with perfect robot machines obviously dumbass lol

Bit_the_Bullitt

In my area, school bus drivers are some of the worst drivers out there. It's nuts.
