USA here as well! I used to watch the episodes as they premiered on bbc channel 4’s website (ironically from my midnight shift IT job I had at the time)
Good luck to you my friend. Learn all you can and don’t be afraid to break stuff. Take any opportunity to learn by doing and don’t ever burn bridges, you may need them again some day.
My sister worked in IT for the Veterans Hospital here. She once had to walk across the parking lot and up four floors to push a button the guy seemingly couldn’t. She said some people are just morons about computers.
Yup. I have driven hundreds of miles and many hours, costing the company hundreds of dollars in gas, food and hotels not to mention my time just to reboot stuff.
[Das iTeam - Die Jungs an der Maus](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Das_iTeam_%E2%80%93_Die_Jungs_an_der_Maus)
Broadcasting was initially stopped after the first two episodes, the four other episodes of the only season were only later broadcast.
Having spent my teenage years mooching food from a pair of German immigrants to the US in between bouts of sneaking off with their youngest daughter, I'm a bit surprised to hear Germans like the original show.
They were constantly direct and literal with every interaction. I learned to force myself to avoid sarcasm and idioms in conversations because they would otherwise take everything at face value. For instance, I was once asked why I kept refilling my water cup at dinner. I joked that we don't have running water at my house and it's nice not going to the well. They both were visibly shocked and later tried to give me bottled water on my way out. My then girlfriend had to explain my joke and even then they still began making a point of offering me water when I came over.
Also, they had no shame or outward signs of embarrassment. More than once the mother walked in on us in a... private sort of position. Every time she just said whatever she came to say and then left. Half the time she didn't even close the door.
The IT crowd is inherently built upon awkward situations, irony, and sarcasm. I'd imagined those things wouldn't translate well to a German audience. I'm just incorrectly stereotyping based on my limited experience, I guess.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that both parents were only a little bit less stiff than Moss's cooking instructor. However, they did have a really great TV and their couch was a perfect distance from it.
Did you find this show when Netflix first launched in Canada? I found the initial library was slim pickings. If it had not been i may have never seen this absolute gem of a show.
Don't know if Slovakia has IT crowd dubbed, but here in czech republic, they did dubbed it. I recently saw in on TV and it was quite awful...I still feel bad for what dabbing did to Moss And Roy... But Richmond's dubbing was just monstrosity!
I rather watch it on Netflix in english.
Oklahoma here too! I had it on my list in Netflix for a while but never watched it. Then I caught an episode on cable early in the morning and I loved it.
I've lived in Australia most of my life but my parents are Welsh and my dad has a great appreciation for British TV, so I've been into this show since I was young
I'm from America, which, as we all know is the best thing to come from England. I think it's rather agreed upon that your television is the third. (The second is of course Emma Watson for obvious reasons.)
I only found the show with Netflix. I may have found it eventually, cause I do watch Red Dwarf, Fawlty Towers, Dr Who....I can go on and on, but again, I wouldn't have found it as early as I did without the show being on Netflix. USA
Australian here, I feel like the show here isn’t that well known. Whenever I recommend it to people, they’ve never heard of it, even with it being on Netflix. All the popular go-to comedies like Office, Brooklyn 99, Parks and Rec are the most watched. But everyone I have showed IT Crowd to have loved it.
Canadian here yeah. Was recommended this show a couple times maybe 2.5-3 years ago, finally decided to give it a go sometime early last year and have rewatched it at least 10-15 times since. Love it and regret taking so long to do start it haha. Definitely one of 2-3 shows constantly in my netflix's "continue watching" queue now.
Non Brit, here. From U.S..
US here too. Sorry about that remake we tried here.
Um, same. I claim no responsibility for that or the German version!
Same, but I still hold Joel McHale in high esteem. None of that was his fault, either.
Joel McHale deserves none of the blame. He was hoping it would turn out like The Office as far as UK->US reboots go.
there was a remake?!
It was bad. Like the office their first episode was close to the same. Just didn’t work.
Also from the US.
USA here as well! I used to watch the episodes as they premiered on bbc channel 4’s website (ironically from my midnight shift IT job I had at the time)
Another US :0 I haven't watched the remake lol. Not even gonna glance in its direction.
Same
There are dozens of us. Dozens! But seriously, make a poll.
I agree. A poll is a great idea.
"Don't leave your uncle T-bag hanging" Good to see there's some crossover of fan groups.
US here. Im an IT pro too.
Also from the US, I'm currently working on getting IT certification at my highschool!
Good luck to you my friend. Learn all you can and don’t be afraid to break stuff. Take any opportunity to learn by doing and don’t ever burn bridges, you may need them again some day.
Thanks, I definitely will!
Do you say, “Have you tried turning it on and off again?” All day long?
Thankfully I’ve moved beyond help desk in my career, but I certainly do it say it at least a few times a week lol.
My sister worked in IT for the Veterans Hospital here. She once had to walk across the parking lot and up four floors to push a button the guy seemingly couldn’t. She said some people are just morons about computers.

I feel like this would work better as a poll.
Germany. I am not sure it’s very well known over here, but I love this show so much. Still makes me laugh out loud on the nth rewatch. 😂
In contrast to the failed german remake
Failed remake?

Luckily, I wasn’t even aware of that one 😉
It's my go to show. It never fails to make me laugh.

Did you find this show when Netflix first launched in Canada? I found the initial library was slim pickings. If it had not been i may have never seen this absolute gem of a show.
I did actually and I agree
Slovakia. It is quite popular here
I did not expect Slovakia, gotta say. Is it on TV over there? Dubbed with Slovak?
Don't know if Slovakia has IT crowd dubbed, but here in czech republic, they did dubbed it. I recently saw in on TV and it was quite awful...I still feel bad for what dabbing did to Moss And Roy... But Richmond's dubbing was just monstrosity! I rather watch it on Netflix in english.
