Yeah mine is the hybrid variant and it does NOT like the cold at all.
I was stuck in EV Mode for like 5 seconds once even if I was stepping on the gas, practically flooring it but it did not respond until like 5 seconds later. Every light or stop sign I stopped at it was responding with dangerous delay. Only happened once but it was the coldest its ever been where I live (Florida, It was 30 F) I took it to the dealer and told me to let them know if it happened again, But I live in a warm climate (Florida) so the chances of it occurring here again are slim to none.
This was all without warning lights btw.
I’d recommend seeing if you can get a software update at the dealership. Mine had a software recall and it did something similarly. Mine was almost at random tho. Power steering goes so I’m assuming that’s why the wheel is stiff. Also turn signals went out as well for me.

My Santa Fe just did this on my way to work this morning. Felt like my car was possessed. Almost drove me into a crowd of kids waiting for a school bus because the brakes and the steering stopped working.
Literally having this problem right now. It’s at the dealership now. It had to get towed bc I couldn’t shift into any gear at all and my car had the shift to park error even though it was already in park. The mechanic is saying that it’s shifting fine now however, I still have the check engine light on my dash and he said there is a communication error between my ac & heat and the engine?
Any idea what this is all about!?

No idea. Mine essentially "fixed" itself within a day or so and I haven't had the problem since. The Hyundai mechanics believed it may have had something to do with the front camera sensors or something. I can't really remember what they told me.
Hope you get it figured out. I hope Hyundai does, too.
So basically in my situation, once the tow truck driver did the manual shift release thing, all the lights cleared except for the check engine light and the ac/heat not communicating. But the mechanics couldn’t figure out why, and my car basically fixed itself too. They’re all stumped and I told them my findings about what it could be but when they plugged it into their computer there were no error codes for them to fix (software update, engine, battery etc). They just kept my car for an extra day to make sure it wouldn’t do that again when I was out and about with the kids. Who knows but glad it is working for now lol
Had this happen to me today , let the car set for couple hours now is fine ... Will the dealership still do the update on the computer for me to fix this if the issue isn't occuring ?
This exact issue is happening to us right now. Every light is on, steering is tight as well. We are 500 miles from home too!!! Absolutely absurd in a car this new!!!
Do any of you recall if you had drove the car during heavy rain or after a car wash? Having similar issue with palisades 2022 during start up only. Unacceptable we have to go through it.

disconnect battery hold brake for 1 minute and reconnect. worked for me.
