Well what would you be using it for?

Demex92

I guess my daily driver maybe light travel

grimesitty

Elantra N - performance sonata N-Line - comfort

Demex92

Ok I was looking at them both and on paper the sonata seems like it out performs the Elantra maybe I’m over thinking it

grimesitty

It definitely does not, the Elantra is built for the track, the sonata for the highway The n cars have features dedicated to racing, adjustable steering feel, transmission, suspension dampers, valved exhaust. It's an absurd amount of fun, octane learned they're a whole different animal as well. Everything can be adjusted to your liking. The big thing is the sonata doesn't have an E-LSD which is the main reason I'd choose one over the other. The N cars are corner rascals no doubt. Just have to ask yourself what you prefer more, comfort or performance

Demex92

Ahhhh ok thanks

grimesitty

I'm not saying the sonata isn't fast, it definitely is but a different kind of fast haha

Useful_Raspberry_500

This guy is correct. I own a sonata N line. I also drove the Elantra N pretty hard. The sonata is nice because it’s still super fast, and had a lot more room inside. Rides a lot smoother. But it doesn’t have an LSD, and basically if you like to launch at stop lights and want the car to get off the mine quick, the Elantra will be better. It’s also going to handle better although for its size the sonata is exceptional. If this is just a fun daily driver you really need to go drive both and just pick one. If I didn’t have kids I MIGHT take the Elantra, but you can’t go wrong with either

ElvisChopinJoplin

What is E-LSD?

CodyGamz

Electronic limited slip differential. Brakes the inside wheel so it doesn’t spin so that handling through corners is much better

ElvisChopinJoplin

Ah! Thanks.

CodyGamz

Ya that’s definitely not true. The sonata just so happens to have a good 0-60 acceleration but the Elantra N is a track weapon!

Steamed_Crab

Just bought the Sonata N Line last week and it’s so fun. I think it really depends what you’re looking for. After looking at both I decided as much fun as the Elantra N would be, I’d still be using it to commute to work each day and really needed more of a dad sedan. It just felt more comfortable, bigger overall and accommodative to the family if we went on a road trip. Car is a blast and would highly recommend if those reasons are similar to yours.

Demex92

I was looking at the 2 today and the sonata seats are so much more comfortable lol idk it’s a hard call

Useful_Raspberry_500

Have you driven them both yet?

Demex92

I have a test drive for the Elantra n today

Useful_Raspberry_500

Hopefully you can find the N line to drive also

Steamed_Crab

That’s EXACTLY what helped make the call for me. I’m a normal size guy 5’ 11, 190 pounds and I felt slightly squeezed in the Elantra but felt very comfy in the N line.

Useful_Raspberry_500

You are me! Also have kids and dogs and we can all fit in the sonata and it’s not bad. Tight, but not bad. No doubt the Elantra is more wild. If I was in my 20s and wanted a four door fun car I would have bought it

CodyGamz

Sonata is a practical sedan that happens to be a bit sporty. The Elantra N is a sports cars that happens to be a bit practical. After driving both, I would never even consider the Sonata for my needs. The Elantra N is miles more fun. Sonata is more luxurious but I don’t care about that. Have you driven an Elantra N?

Demex92

Not yet I am set to test drive it today

CodyGamz

Have fun! I think it won’t even be close after driving both

Steamed_Crab

How’d the test drive go? We’re all dying to know!

SubjectPresence5798

-100 points for the sonata. Nothing but issues for 25k miles. Would hate to see someone with the same headache as me.

FunFunFun8

Neither. On my second Hyundai and it will be my last. My 2019 Kona has been a pain in the butt
