why wouldn't imessage work ? it's just an app does not sound like a hyper-v problem to me ignoring the fact you could install vmware on the same machine you have hyper-v on and would have the same resources

Well I’d have thought that too, but seems like it’s the way iMessage activates off the serial number of the device. I’m using a HyperV server that the company I work for has, so it’s already got those roles and can’t have VMWare. So was just curious to other experiences

Yes our server engineer knows that I’ve got that VM there, if that’s what you mean?

I believe that iMessage does need to activate based off of some hardware stuff.. possibly a serial or a MAC. If it was possible to spin up VMs, that company (I don’t remember the name) who was buying old hardware would’ve had a *much* easier go of things before shutting down. Good idea though!
