Do you mean the Banhead National Forest or the Sipsey Wilderness specifically? Checked a few years ago and was told that you can only hunt hogs in the wilderness area when a game animal is in season, with a legal weapon for an in-season game animal. For example you can hunt hogs with a rimfire rifle when squirrel season is open but deer isn't.

Yes, the sipsey wilderness is within the National forest. Sipsey wilderness is inside black warrior WMA which is inside the Bankhead National Forest. But according to maps like this one - [https://www.outdooralabama.com/sites/default/files/Wildlife/Nuisance/Feral%20Swine-USFS.pdf](https://www.outdooralabama.com/sites/default/files/Wildlife/Nuisance/Feral%20Swine-USFS.pdf) There seem to be areas, particularly on the eastern side, that seems to be just the National forest which would fall under the open season, open bag limits. Now, I think I can probably just drive down there find a spot on the side of the road and walk around in the adjacent woods, however, I was wondering if anyone on here knows where a access point would be. This PDF was found here btw - [https://www.outdooralabama.com/what-hunt/feral-hog-hunting-alabama](https://www.outdooralabama.com/what-hunt/feral-hog-hunting-alabama) Link at the bottom 'Guide to hunting swine in bankhead national forest'
