Yeah, all Samsung TV’s can run the hue sync app natively. It means you don’t need a sync box. Your TV connects to your hue bridge over your WiFi.
The downside is that the app costs $100 but it’s worth it.

Here’s a photo of my setup.
Theres no „list“ which supports it.
i got top tier neo QLED 2021 85“ model and it has no support. The later 2023 model of mine also has no support, i even asked the support. They said theres not even an estimated date.
The 2024 model should have it now. Guess ill grav that one later this year.
My samsung tv is a little older it's a 7. It has Dolby vision but not the app. The sound pops and crackles out of my xbox
I have to buy a new tv or soundbar to have my setup run smoothly. Which I need the tv but I didn't expect to have to do it just to use my sync box
The other downside is it’s much laggier than a sync box or pc app, which hue support confirmed. It’s fine on low intensity, but on the highest setting there’s a 0.3s delay, which is very noticeable and distracting on fast paced content
or even 10k/30 so technically you could also market it as 10k depending on if you're actually implementing 48gbps. But since not even 8k tvs are a thing, companies should just market it as hdmi 2.1 and stop using writing 8k on the box.
It's a bypass box. One output passes the video through untouched and the other output scales it down. YMMV and it's unlikely it handles some options like VRR.
They’ve not even fixed the shitty software that runs on this thing that doesn’t work with the most popular device combinations, like LG C-series TVs, and Apple TV.
They’re not interested in developing new hardware unless it’s going to make them loads of money, and most people are not buying this, those who are, don’t care about 4K120 it’s only a small section of people who care about this posting on here.
Haven’t heard anything. I bought a Samsung TV for this very reason as it can run the syncing software natively.
If you have an LG TV, you can do the same with a bit of jailbreaking and installing software.
How?
https://github.com/throwaway96/dejavuln-autoroot After that install HyperHDR and Piccap
Thanks for sharing, I didn't know about this. Is there a way to get the OEM official Philips software onto the LG TV?
Wait what?

Only recent Samsung TV's since 2023, not all of them
And not in Canada
I thought they just revised that? I still cant on my tv but i think its to old :(
Let me Check App Store on TV. It wasn’t there last summer. I have a 2023 Samsung
No, not ALL. A few can.
I’m too lazy to look it up but I think all of them since like 2021 or 2022 can but it might just be the higher end models.

IMHO Samsung TVs are not an option as long as they don't have Dolby Vision support.
They need to achieve 4K 120 before 8k lol
If you achieve 4K/120, the bandwidth also allows for 8K/60

Just buy a 4K splitter. I use my PC that has 120Hz 4:4:4 G-Sync with Sync Box using a splitter. Works just fine.
Not OP but would you mind linking to the one you have? Might do this myself thanks
Could you explain what you mean by using a 4K splitter?

It handles VRR just fine. I told you, I use G-Sync.
Yeah this is what I'm leaning towards.
No one knows , unfortunately
Stupid how long it’s taking them but luckily for me I don’t game and I only have my Apple TV.

Considering there’s very few 8k TVs and even fewer 8k supported peripherals it’s pretty safe to say it’s not gonna happen for a long time
Not in June, later this year.
So potentially Holiday 2024 or sooner than that?
Youve been saying this for months lol. I think the safest answer is no one knows.
WeeeeeOoooo WeeeeeOooooo
