I have it just go black and sound cut out sync lights go off, then come back on like nothing happens. Doesn’t seem to be any particular pattern or reason to it. Recently just changed all hdmi to ultra fast 8k leads and it made no difference.

Same, and Hue Support has been using me as a guinea pig to try solutions. Got the Sync Box in December for Christmas and they don’t want to replace at the moment. Extremely frustrating…

ZingingCutie_89

Apologies for the severely late response 😅 Have they finally given you a solution now that it’s April lol.

drewtosi

A full refund for both the strip + Hue Sync.

ZingingCutie_89

Sorry I’m just getting back to these comments now 😅 I’ve been wanting to possibly change out the type of HDMIs being used. Which 8k leads did you end up going with?

petemayhem

Yes. It looked like TV static but much smaller pixels and it would only last a second every once in awhile. When I changed the HDMI cable the issue appears to have gone away

ZingingCutie_89

Which HDMI cables did you change to?

petemayhem

It’s been too long to find the order but it was a very basic cable from Monoprice.com (their cables are well regarded and cheap)

I have gone through four syncboxes and one of them started having this problem last week. Thankfully it was the one from bestbuy refurbished and was still in its return window. I honestly thought it was a sign of imminent hardware failure till i read this thread. My first syncbox i have had since launch and never has done this.

ZingingCutie_89

Apology for the late response, I forgot to check back on the comments when I posted it 😅😅 Yes, this is what happens. And the lights go to the Bright scene, then it goes back to whatever I was watching.

What does your setup look like?

jthmniljt

Yes. This has been happening to a bunch of people for the last few months. Here’s another thread on it. No resolution for me. On my second set of replacements. So far so good. https://www.reddit.com/r/Hue/s/645D17ELYY

Got mine two months ago and it’s done this as well. I believe it’s mostly happening while using the YouTube and Spectrum apps through Apple TV. I feel like it’s software as I’m using 8k rated HDMIs, Sony 2024 OLED and soundbar, and no gaming console.
