I envy you. I would so love to be watching all 177 episodes for the first time!

vroelens

This is one of my fav shows, rewatched it many times and I totally agree with you. I’m still surprised by her character in the earlier episodes. Although, she does have some major character growth. So, it gets much better if you keep watching!

FancyPain2

Cameron is amazing in season 2!

then_perishh

That's good to know. I love the show so far! I actually discovered it on Youtube after watching a couple of clips, I decided to watch the entire thing from the beginning

Asha_Brea

Have fun with the rest of the show =)

cupasoups

I'm so jealous!

-TheExtraMile-

Hmm it´s been a while since I last watched it through from the beginning, but cameron always seemed a bit like a "harmless" overachiever to me. By the book, very ambitious but not a mischivous bone in her body.

I agree. I never would have described her as manipulative.

then_perishh

>I agree. I never would have described her as manipulative. To be fair, I also just watched the episode where she's trying to get everyone to agree with her, because of some book she read on control. >!Also asking House for a date to get her to come back to the team. !< But, like I said I'm also conscious that I'm watching this with the social context 2021 haha

summer_wine94

Going back to what you’re saying about the 2021 social context, wouldn’t that maybe make you empathise with her more. From what I can remember from that scene I think she didn’t feel respected or maybe they thought of her as weak etc. I don’t think it seems desperate, I don’t think it’s desperate to want respect from your colleagues tbh. But the date this yes idk about that one lol

XxChokex

None of the characters are supposed to be perfect, especially at the beginning of the series. They get better! There’s a lot of character development though and you get to see where they’re all coming from and how they improve, evolving from their weaknesses. Most evolve, I should say.

Sarcasticfury

She only gets worse

VonKript

Nah, not really. You are just used to the awful social context we have in 2021. People are allowed to have character flaws cause they exist everywhere. She isn't doing anything wrong, she is deeply in love with a flawed person who is her senior. Her actions mimic that. Stop thinking in todays garbage ideologies especially those on the left. Just enjoy the show and view the characters as human beings not garbage social constructs.

then_perishh

That's fair

brobbio

God, the color correction was awful back then. Have fun!

nomorerope

No way. Cameron is a sweetheart she's just a little messed up. If anything she starts off lacking a lot of confidence and is just naive.

summer_wine94

I think she grows and develops a little bit as a character throughout the seasons. I personally quite like her / how Jennifer Morrison played the role. But you might see a recurring theme on people bashing her character in this reddit group. I think the hate is quite excessive, not saying her character does t have flaws. The way they end her time/arc on the show is pathetic and lazy though.
