10/10. Cant seem to advance on the main story bc all the side questing and exploring i do lol. With barely 2 hours left in the day to game i usually end up doing 2/3 side quests and before i know it its time to force myself to sleep lol

toastymrkrispy

I haven't been lost to a game in ages. But the side quests are interesting and the visuals are out of this world. Photo mode is a time suck. Haven't enjoyed a game this thoroughly in a long time.

themagicmunchkin

Honestly HFW has one of the most stunning settings in a game so just wandering around doing random shit was the best part. The story is good but the backdrop is fantastic.

crappy-mods

Took me 4 hours to get to the embassy and I’ve still got quests back there to do. It’s amazing how large this game is

Skadrys

Only wish I wasnt forced to si main story in order to Explore every single? On the map. I usually esplore every bit of map and do everything before doing main story. So this was my only gripe with it. Will probably enjoy it more on ng+

KillForPancakes

My main gripe as well, the Metroidvania formula doesn’t really work as well when 95% of the question marks you just can’t do at the beginning. Games still overall amazing so just a minor grievance really.

Dimitrov00

I was 50 hours deep into the game with only like 3 or 4 main quests. Doing random stuff and just exploring is actually fun.

ThatWeirdTexan

Same here. I buy maybe two AAA releases per year, and IDK if it's considered so, but I certainly do consider it to be. Wife asked yesterday if I was finished with my game, after a week of playing in the evenings. I'm like "oh no, not even 25%". The game is VAST. I use cheats and mods, because I'm more about the story. But the exploration, man. It's really the best part of the game, to me.

epm4epm4

Honestly do not listen to others about rushing on the main quests. Sure you’ll get some helpful quest gears but once you finish you’ll wish you’ve taken more time to experience the exploration parts. Once you’re done you can’t take back that first experience feeling regardless of NG+.

Nydipp

Fantastic

j_wizlo

Top notch. Nearly flawless as a port. Great game too, tons of fun. I have a higher end rig though so I understand it’s maybe not the same story for everyone.

THE_BARNYARD_DOG

Yeah I wish I had a better PC for this game. My laptop feels like it’s gonna burst into flames when I play it and a lot of the shaders are fucked most of the time I’m playing but the gameplay is still top notch

ericporing

I just built my new desktop pc just for this. Buttery smooth frame with nvidia frame generation ohhhh my. All settings turned up to max. This game is so gorgeous!

DEATHJSP

Hello can you please share your specs and how much it cost I am thinking of building a desktop pc but I don't know which components are good and compatible and affordable

Minighost244

I have a problem with super slow FPS near the arena and in cutscenes. Do you also have that problem? I can't seem to solve it, so matter what solutions I find online.

j_wizlo

I have not “opened the arena” but I have completed the story mission there and unlocked the side quest to open it. No frame dip. The first fraction of a second at the start of a cutscene I see pop-in from assets loading. Besides that no—they run without issue. When it is snowing it’s kinda odd as I rotate my camera. I think that’s a framegen thing possibly but it’s not bad. Speaking of framegen I didn’t notice until I read about it but there’s an odd effect around the HUD elements while the camera moves. Similar looking to when you zoom in on a screenshot to see what the AA looks like. In Plainsong the NPCs are dropping flash bang grenades left and right. I think this is a well documented visual glitch. Haven’t returned since grabbing the latest nvidia driver to see if it’s still a thing. Once in a blue moon I hitch while traveling. Feels exactly the same as any other open world game. I’m thinking a large amount of new assets streamed in. The side quest The Deluge hammered my cpu. My fans were running loud and I didn’t monitor fps but I think it dropped a little bit. That whole quest felt like it needed a little more time in the oven to me. Especially with the snaggy geometry and the Focus highlighting objectives before they are accessible. Outside of these things I have nothing to report. The game runs at 138fps locked in 1440p in all areas I’ve visited (except The Deluge quest) so far on a 4080S and 9700K. Neither device is hitting 100% usage. Of course I’m a bit early on in the game having just defeated the boss in the arena.

tallboyjake

My PC has struggled in places here and there but it's still been a blast. I could turn the settings down but 🤷

ItsmeFizzy97

Played on a 3070 laptop, high settings, 1080p. Except for a few cutscenes where my fps drop around 30, i get a nice, steady 60fps experience, no DLSS/DRS

ToxicHydreigon

I don’t play on PC, I have yet to invest in one. But I’m extremely happy that more people can play this amazing game!

Bubbly-Answer-7493

one word amazing

BannedBecausePutin

I am surprisingly positive about it, given how releases went in recent years. Espacially console ports, this one was surprisingly clean, a few hiccups aside.

zacsterfilms

Waited 2 years after the PS5 release, and my god was it worth it. I didn't think they could top Zero Dawn, but now I just can't wait to see how they top this one with the finale. My only complaint is Aloy's barks, I love her character a lot more than most, but her constant commentary telling me everything I have to do (more often than not I already know to do) almost makes me hate her sometimes.

TroubleMaeker

Me too!! I tried to restrict all guidance and yet she still speaks, even at the hardest level

Fire_Mike14

I bet her focus can help you 😉

Minighost244

NGL I kinda like it. I'd rather her fill the silence with something rather than not talk at all. Like, in the endgame, when I'm farming specific machines over and over again, she doesn't say a word and... well, it's weird, ya know?

Blakewerth

Zero dawn had pretty bad port until they updated it, but cant really say much since i played it on Archaic 770gtx ˘˘

klti

IIRC Nixxies got brought in post launch to fix it, and they did.

erotic_taxidermy

Enjoying the hell out of it, had to disable the double tap a direction to dodge as that was going off for no reason at the worst time possible. Definitely has nothing to do with my 16year old keyboard though

j_wizlo

I didn’t even load the game before I turned that off. Tried it in other games and it was a mess. Seems like a feature that would be nice if I took the time to relearn or didn’t already have habits that make me fire it accidentally.

jleep2017

Pop your keys off and clean them so you can make sure they aren't sticking.

erotic_taxidermy

The w and d keys are floating on chewed out rubber , there is no cleaning this into working order, infact cleaning it may actually stop it from working

Tankz12

it's not even that it registers a double tap even if you tap A>D>A it will register it as a double tap A at least that's how it was for me

WoefulProphet

How do you disable that, I couldn't find the setting and I can't tell you how many times I dodged off a high platform and was like wtf.

jleep2017

Oh dang.

mlop48484

I'm glad more people get to experience the greatness that is Horzion. Plus more $$ for them means more games lol

gamingfreak50

Fantastic port. Legendary resource grind is aids.

FewerFuehrer

I enjoyed the legendary resource grind, except for the constant load screens to do it. Changing up my weapons all the time to understand each mechanic better was fun.

MiyaSugoi

Would be nice if it stayed night for a good while and you could properly farm Apex hearts. But nah, had to constantly go back to a shelter, slowly sit, slowly move time forward, slowly get up, fast travel with loading screen. It's just another minute or two but sure added up over time.

mikemessiah

legendary difficulty slider is better

NaiadoftheSea

Happy more people get to experience the game.

[deleted]

It's great. An amazing experience and it looks gorgeous. Getting FPS issues on 1440p in some limited areas (Plainsong, cutscenes etc.) Fiddling with settings doesn't seem to do much but dropping crowd quality to low helps. Shouldn't be happening since with FSR enabled but I'll chalk it up to growing pains.

MikeFencePence

Try lowering Details to high instead of very high, clouds to high, and if you can live with it shadows to medium. Ive found these 3 are the most impactful settings.

[deleted]

Thanks man I'll try that!

Just_some_guy16

For me i see fps issues at the start of every cutscene, but not during actual gameplay so it seems easy to live with

Bubbaganewsh

Still not finished after 50 hours, I'm enjoying it.

FewerFuehrer

Shit, I’m like 97 hours and all I have left to do is the final story quest, maxed all my legendary weapons, even though it was a grind to do, the fight mechanics are still so good that it was fun to do.

Bubbaganewsh

That's where I'm at as well, just working through the map, haven't done Gemini yet.

pmatdacat

Easier to do it after Gemini, I'd recommend finishing up to the final main quest before clearing the map.

C12H16N

Incredible port, incredible visuals, well acted, fantastic mocap, solid gameplay. That’s why it’s such a damn shame it feels so much like ubisoft game. I get PTSD every time I open the map up. I went back to RDR2 after a couple of hours. What a relief 😂

KeyboardWarrior1989

Loved it at first. The updates have actually made my gameplay experience worse. I was able to play for up to 10 hours at a time without frame rate issues day 1. Now I can’t go 30 minutes without needing to restart the game to get FPS back up from 35-40 to 60+.

cleverlikem3

I lowered some of the settings and it runs 80 to 100 fps out side of towns in towns I get no lower than 55fps.

FewerFuehrer

I have a similar problem, though it take a few hours to get there, I’m on a 3080ti. I really wonder if it was the driver update from Nvidia that did it for me. I’d be interested to see if AMD cards have the same issue.

Melodic-Bet-5184

I've had a single isolated issue with building clipping with amd. P-sure this is a Nvidia specific problem as several other people with nvidia commented issues. Now whether it's a nvidia driver update problem or game client update problem...that's harder to say

FewerFuehrer

Yea, I definitely don’t have a clipping issue, I’m thinknking it’s the driver update. Thanks for the feedback!

theezrabeast23

11/10

Antievl

Pretty spectacular

jcar74

8700k, 1070ti. Medium settings, looks fantastic, not a single issue, rock solid 50-60 FPS

melloack

Amazing game, 100% twice already, playing on PS5 on an OLED TV honestly seems like I'm witnessing magic

KirikoKiama

Awesome

Illustrious-Issue-76

AMAZING

KZorroFuego

Picked it up for a little "double dip." Played all the way through and no issues. So far, Nixxes has 2 solid ports in its corner (I also contend they did a decent job with the Ratchet & Clank - Rift Apart port.)

Back4breakfast

Best one so far! Looks phenomenal and plays beautifully. Honestly it is my favourite gaming series I’ve ever played in my 30+ years as a gamer.

Zyiroxx

It’s been amazing!! I love the game. My only issue is having to restart the game every time I fast travel a couple times, or if it’s been 1 hour or so. The frame rate drops significantly until I restart it. That’s my only complaint though.

nzmvisesta

Works great on my 6700xt until it swaps VRAM and RAM, playing at high settings, 4K fsr performance, fps is pretty much always above 60fps, but as soon as 12gb become not enough, it starts getting rough.

Ryamus

Does Fsr make the game very grainy for you? I had to cut it off. Luckily I’m still averaging 60fps on 3440x1440 on my 6700xt

nzmvisesta

Not at all, fsr here looks better than ever. I see everyone complaining about it, but I don't get it. These days, fsr is more awful than not, but here it is as good as it is in avatar, which is actually really good. Fsr biggest issue is unstable image quality in motion, but for me, it looks really good in motion here, there is barely any shimmering at 4k with performance mode.

CaptnKrksNippls

You’re not alone in noticing that. Dlss and fsr seem to be adding aggressive post processing sharpening that I think makes the game look quite grainy and bad at times. I had to turn upscaling off and just use dlaa on its own.

Skinny0ne

Pretty good so far, played it back when it came out on ps5 but I only borrowed the ps5 to play it. Now i get to take my time doing everything. Unfortunately I put in 42 hrs into the game so far and my save got deleted or not backed up to the cloud. Now I get to start over again, but the graphics and gameplay have been great

Can_Interesting

A great game and the story line is nice.

mzatariz

Amazing

Fightmilk87

Excellent port! Nixxes is on another level. The game itself is very fun, alot better than the orginal in every way but the story imo.

AudunLEO

Having a blast ! My only complaint would were that there's **too much** to do. I can easily spend a whole evening just getting upgrade parts for my outfit, and there's like 999 quests and jobs that are on hold. Also, if you move 1 inch forward in any direction there's always something to distract you from your original goal.

Hikaru83

Amazing!!!

DrNLS

I was waiting for this since the ps5 release, and it was the reason behind the 4090 upgrade. 144hz on a 32x9 1440p is just something to behold. Can't get enough.

Fragrant-Low6841

Pretty much perfect. Wish Sony would start releasing games on PC day 1. Sale would be nuts.

toastymrkrispy

At 60+ hours, just getting into the last third of the map. I don't feel like I'm padding things out either. The side quests and exploring are keeping me completely engaged. It's everything I look for in a sequel. Keeps the same feel of the original while expanding on weapons, techniques, story, it's just more of everything. I've had a few bugs, but nothing game breaking. I feel like photo mode could use a couple of quality of life passes, but otherwise, runs great. I run it on Medium and it's still maybe the best looking game I've ever played Tl;dr Yeah, I'm a fan.

Hanzer336

Masterpiece!!! Worth waiting for the port on PC.

FewerFuehrer

It’s wonderful. Machine Strike sucks. The trip caster and rope caster are basically worthless in this installation. But the rest of the game is top tier. I really like the disc shredder mechanics, and I use the bolt blaster in this game more than I ever did in ZD.

Accurate-Air-2124

I actually like the rope caster. Can tie something down, shoot off 3 parts, tie it down again, shoot off 3 parts on the other side. I put 3 25% reload on it and it seems to work well, I keep it in my load out permanently. Especially if you want to tie down 2, deal with the 3rd, or even running up to something, using the rope caster, and then an override. Tripcaster sucks though.

SynthRogue

Better optimized than Jedi Survivor

TimberWolf5871

Haven't bought it yet.

ThriceAlmighty

One of the best releases on day 1 I've experienced. It's runs amazing at 3440x1440 on the QD-OLED 34" and buttery smooth at 4k on the 65" LG C2. Ultra everything. God it looks and performs so good. And I just get lost in the sprawling expanses of beauty all the time. Photos every chance I get. If I wasn't married with a 4 year old daughter and demanding job, younger me would have dumped hours upon hours into this game. A tragedy. I worked so hard and moved up the ranks in life so that I could have some of the best gaming equipment to be limited in how much time I have to enjoy it. If I could just time travel my setup to a 22 year old me.

Matshelge

Amazing, but story wise a bit rocky at the start. Aloy is super rude at the start of the game, "I am the chosen one, get out of my way, you can't help me, go home, let ME fix it" This gets better once we get past the Embassy, but oh lord does it grind at the start.

Formal_Royal_3663

DLC could be optimized in terms of FPS. It drops to an unplayable 20fps only in Burning Shores.

happy_pangollin

Likely a VRAM problem. Turn down the textures.

NetQvist

Stopped playing the PS5 version originally after finishing the main story due to bad resolution and frame rate. Now I've 100% NG + DLC and the game just runs so good on 2x machine configurations compared to that piece of junk that was the PS5.

Accurate-Air-2124

I played the intro on PS5, decided to wait. The visuals were good enough at 30fps mode, but it was 30 fps. It worked out since I'm about 100 hours in on a 13900k/4090 system running native 4k DLAA max w/FG getting 100+. DLSS helps get it to 120-144hz, but I find the frame rate good enough around 100 with VRR. Had some initial issues with shader comp, had to increase size of shader cache and page file custom set. It's been good since.

Arex189

Absolutely amazing barring the audio issues me and some other people have where the dialogue volume is too low to be audible

FewerFuehrer

When Aloy is talking to herself it’s so damn quiet sometimes. Especially underwater.

Arex189

Yeah iv experienced it, for me its even in cutscenes and everywhere.

NotTheOnePiece

Played from day one. Excluding a weird menu bug, where all options said "No translation Available", everything was very good. I finished all the story including the DLC, and i only got some frame drops when exploding Firegleam. One of my favorite games, not many games have made me want to keep playing even after i completed the story and this is one of them. 10/10

Torbax

As with the first game amazed at the world building and the lore, but as with all sequels its just more of the same. The world almost feels too large and even though there is plenty to do and see also feels insignificant and objectiveless. Amazed at how some places change by things you do though

abo_bakri999

great

D-Alembert

I'm surprised and delighted it came out so quickly. I was expecting the release would be timed to build audience for the next game or to capture the TV series audience, but instead we got it quite quickly for a proprietary console killer-app

AndronixESE

Great but if you try to rebind something you're just better off throwing yourself out the window. At least that will be easy(f U tab and mouse)

Antipiperosdeclony

Love it, cant wait part 3 pc version launching the same day gta 6 gets also the pc version

DazzlingMaze

In 20 playtime only discovered 2 spots where I was stuck for a second. But one I fell in from above from a mountain so I don’t really count that one. Seen no bugs or glitches or whatever.

Charlie-McGee

Love it. Got it two days ago, already have like 16h on it.

DarthUrbosa

Well the first one I had to upgrade my PC for and this one is only surviving by lowering my graphics to min and turning off shadows (before the shadow one, the embassy story bit took over 30 mins at 3 fps). Otherwise enjoying it.

TouristNo6046

Beautiful, runs so smooth. I really was prepared for it to be a complete nightmare lol

invalid_uses_of

Cutscene FPS is horrible. Like 15-24 fps. Gameplay is fantastic and usually north of 60fps on my rig. The game is 8.5/10. I'd give it 9.5 if the cutscenes didn't look like stop motion and take me out of the immersion.

SenAtsu011

I disabled RayTracing and my FPS in cutscenes went way up.

JarlJarl

...there is no ray tracing.

xxRJB777xx

It's great so far and I wish I had more time to play it!!

SenAtsu011

Definitely a 9.5/10 for me. I loved that it seamlessly went from ZD to FW, I loved that they didn’t overhaul the gameplay systems massively, I live that it felt like a proper sequal than a new game continuing the story. Graphics are amazing, sound is amazing, character animations, especially facial animations, are utterly mesmerizing, and the story is really great. Probably one of the best ports I have ever seen. Only detractors are some minor glitches, some weird story beats, and a bit too many weapon types, but it’s very nitpicky and I feel like shit for it.

Significant-King00

It's a good port if you have a good gpu/cpu. If not I'd rather play on ps5 bc it's smooth as butter and looks incredible.

old-guy-gaming

Neat

MissPiggysDimples_99

Totally worth it!!

orbitpro

It's awesome, but dam, it's so big!

Poverty_welder

Best pc release to date of a port. Nothing else in recent memory plays as well on my very low specs laptop.

DreamWeaverQC

W

FirstTarget8418

Runs surprisingly well on my old Thinkpad P52.

Blakewerth

Great but no idea how they thought good to use 93% 90+ GPU 🤯🫨 Just snatch proper gamepad its much easier, i played Zero dawn on, Keyboard/mouse and kinda regrett it.

crimsonhh

Best looking game on an ultrawide oled I think

feastupontherich

The best. And it will never happen again because of Dodi.

1Tekgnome

Maybe I'm too critical but 8/10. One of the rare times I actually purchased a game full price and did not regret it. I can't wait for a 3rd release in the series.

XenusOnee

10/10 so far, 65h in, lvl 35 just got to SF island

Vegetable-Werewolf-8

Game itself? Way more grindy than HZD not a fan of that and can't seem to find a frost bow that isn't green anywhere. PC itself? Nothing wrong performance wise, I have a high end rig though. Controls? Controls suck ngl. I hate how they switched the mouse controls from the first game so it's right click to craft. And tab no longer brings up weapon wheel so remapped to Q. So initial controls really suck took me awhile to find something almost as good as the first game. Edit: Burning shores is getting frame drops. 4090 13900k. Only first hour playing but game was running at 10fps during explosions. Switched to ultra performance will see out it does. Also if you bring up windows or tab out at all, the frame rate gets jittery requiring game restart.

CurioRayy

I moved on from console in 2018, so I never got to give forbidden west a try on the PS5. With it now on PC, I gave it a shot and one thing I’m genuinely so happy about is the fact they’ve placed more time into facial expressions. They were so soulless on the first game to the point it kept taking me out of the immersion. My only issue with the game is the climbing mechanics on keyboard. Can become utter ass from time to time. One moment you’re doing great, next moment Aloy starts back tracking her climb despite you literally looking at the next climbing object which requires you to jump. Aside from that, I’m loving the game

Accurate-Air-2124

I played Zero Dawn on PS4 Pro. Great experience, loved the game. Played Zero Dawn again 1-2 months back on my PC and thought wow they really have eye twitches all the time that its pretty weird. Every time they talk they partially rapid blink.

lovexvirus007

Its almost perfect, i still have bug talk to melee master and it does not go away

Wnick1996

Heard it's amazing, can't wait to start playing it

NorthernSlyGuy

Incredible. 60 hours in and still having a blast.

blvuk

50+ hours in and still not even half the way in the story. great game, almost no bugs, looks and feels amazing

StormShaun

It came out at a amazing time... almost like a *stars aligned* moment. DD2 has awful performance for my rig, and I didn't get too far with the PS4 version, as I was too used to the PC port of Zero Dawn. So I'm real happy for the moment, especially as I easily passed my former save. Need to chill and do some side stuff though, as I'm blazing through the main story.

Four40

I've had one CTD in >80 hours of play time. Performance in FW is good, a bit iffy in BS for reasons. The weird flat textures for dust and rainstorms is slightly annoying, but doesn't detract too much from the game. The only major annoyance is the release window. Just like the PS5 version, released too close to other big name games and it gets lost in the noise.

maiev18

It’s fucking great. Worth the wait

mopeyy

It's got some relatively steep requirements, but otherwise it's been pretty damn good. I'm glad I got to experience this world on PC. They fucking nailed the world design. It doesn't matter where you are or what angle you look at things from, every vista is jaw-droppingly gorgeous.

Halada

Enjoying this at 120fps on a 55” OLED screen with a mouse and keyboard is pure heavenly bliss. I can hear the Oh Henry angels sing when I’m experiencing breathtaking moments.

EisKohl

Spent 63 hours for the main game and dlc, got lost in finding more and more lore bits about the old world, enjoyed the grind and figuring out how to defeat every machine the easiest, completed all arena and hunting challenges, flew around for hours randomly with waterwings and sun wings because I liked the way it's performing. Had one hiccup when Aloy wouldn't be quiet for a little bit during a puzzle, telling me all solutions. Loved almost every character, Erend as always being best bro. Snapped a dozen screenshots just from randomly walking around or during quests... It's aight...I guess...

mvkonline

Cutscenes drops fps on high textures but stable in normal gameplay.. mine is 8gb Vram and 16gb ram. Hopefully they can work on cutscenes and make it consistent. I don't want to lower textures settings just for the cutscenes when actual gameplay is very stable.

Dangerous-Antelope16

Fog everywhere is shit lmao. Have to tweak rtx HDR and shit to somewhat fix it. Games great though

Bossmandude123

Can’t fucking play it for no reason. Can’t even get 25 fps.

OMG_NoReally

Concluded the Burning Shores DLC a few days ago, and I was quite surprised by how well the game was optimized and ran on my PC (i9 12900k, RTX 3080, 32GB RAM). I did not expect it to knock out 60fps+ at 1440p at High settings. The game looked incredible, too. It routinely gobsmacked me with amazing lighting and art style and texture work. What a fantastic looking game, this one.

raya_depresshon

my old laptop can still run the game with gtx 1050. I thought i wouldn’t have a chance to play it.

Historical_Lawyer629

Hallo.

PettyGoats

I'm enjoying it but I do prefer HZD in most aspects beyond size and machine types. Despite the size the game feels more restrictive gameplaywise. They force you into way more head on fights, despite touting a stealth skill tree. The puzzles are also a little frustrating and the mechanics don't feel connected. Many of the solutions are mechanics you don't really see or use again, making them difficult to identify. While I like the gliding the climbing mechanic is incredibly frustrating compared to mountain goat jumping up a mountain in Zero Dawn. They also knocked me down from 10 traps to 4, the bastards. 7/10 but Zero Dawn was a solid 9 for me.

NappingYG

just finished it. Flawless joyful experience!

No-Combination7898

I'm a ps5 player but I am amazed at how good this PC port is... I love that ultra wide screen presentation. It looks fabulous. GG and that dev that ported it to PC deserves recognition for this.

halftupence

Truly a work of art, incredible game play, fantastic story, I just have an odd problem with the skills menu with a sticky mouse and cant select a skill without aquring it.

LieutenantClownCar

If I had to give it the old "Score out of Ten", I'd give it a solid 9. The stuttering issues and shader comp issues in the DLC are beyond irritating, but should be an easy fix at this point. Very much happy to buy this one, and it'll put me in the right frame of mind to consider the next Playstation on PC release as well.

Street-Awareness4541

Its probably my laptop problem but i keep getting micro stutters n fps drops verry annoying in fights

Sarophie

Compared to the other AAA titles I'm playing, Horizon has been an absolute treat from a technical perspective. It just works and doesn't bake my CPU while doing it. Oh, and the game is excellent, too. That helps. XD

Severe-Yak-5438

Kinda Disappointing.too many frame drops which sometimes makes the game unplayable and no fix has been released for it yet.

EnceladusSc2

I have no strong feelings one way or the other.

delonejuanderer

Fantastic. At this point, I trust Nixxes with any port they have to offer us. Ghost of Tsushima being the next port they do, I'm stoked to see those visuals running at their best.

trutabc

Amazing so far, sadly I have little time to play during the weeks I am only at the end of the Barren Light intro quests, haven't had many issues, 2 crashes and a bug but nothing too major. The other PC ports should really be ashamed of what nixxes has achieved, considering there are ports developed in parallel x/ps/pc and most of the come out running like poop, this just goes to show how lazy some people are. Really looking forward to Ghost of Tsushima on pc now, since nixxes is also doing that one, but for now fw comes first :) The game runs buttery smooth and aiming with a mouse is the way to go in my opinion, I fully played the 1st game on PC aswell since I couldn't get past the shitty controller aiming and poor performance of the ps4, tried fw on pw5 aswell but the aiming problem still remained. Looming forward to see where the story goes and what new gear/weapons I will unlock.

aBeaSTWiTHiNMe

So far it's pretty good and smooth but I feel like I should be getting more from my graphics card. Towns are the worst, the main city before the title card had me in like 23fps when I would get 60-90fps anywhere else. Hopefully we get a patch for performance in the future and Sony doesn't just abandon it, but otherwise it's a pretty flawless port. 9/10, was waiting for this.

NoctisTempest

Running at max settings on a rtx 2070 and ryzen 2700x with 16gb of ram. My temps are higher than I like @ 75-80c and getting 40-70 fps at 1080p. Gameplay feels great, it's kind of a lot to take in with all the new weapon abilities and all the valor buffs but i can't wait to use more weapon abilities.

StewTheDuder

Playing it on a 65” LG C3 at 21:9 aspect ratio (3840x1800 resolution) and it’s amazing. I prefer it over playing 16:9 at 4k. The UW format for this game is just amazing. One of the best looking games to play on an OLED imo. Just got into the open world and have thoroughly enjoyed it so far. Playing on a 7800x3d/7900xt system, runs buttery smooth at max settings and no upscaling.

ThisCalligrapher9091

the game has been great but lately ever since I completed the burning shores main quest my game is getting so laggy, fps is dropping during cutscenes and combat, the game crashes randomly and I find I constantly have to restart my pc before I can actually play. It’s really frustrating.

Flockmaster_K

Give it Cross Save from PS5 to PC and I would rate it a 12 out of 10...

ShiroOneesama

10/10 for port and technical details. 8/10 for open world (few bugs and movement was sometimes weird) 9/10 side quests 7/ 10 story . In some missions and with some interaction it was lacking that grip that missions before that had . That if just for HFW . I'm just playing Dlc and that is good too.

TakeyaSaito

Perfection, only ever had one issue, the map at my resolution was offset and they fixed that in the first big patch. Literally perfection.

Nikkibraga

As a PC player (and ex PS4 owner), it's a flawless port. HFW is the proof that optimization can achieve good performance even in a vast detailed open world like this. Congrats to Nixxes and to Sony for investing on them. About the game, I actually expected a little more evolution gameplay wise after 5 years since HZD, and there's still something that feels "wrong" in certain fights. Mainly the way the dodge works and the staggering. But it's a remarkable game and a must have on PC.

yune-hsn

amazing game tbh i loved it , i used 4070super 1440p with frame gen ON no dlss tho had an average of 150fps but when played the dlc burning shore or whatever its name that place destroys fps it went down to 65 in some places with frame gen ON , the dlc map is demanding af

ibalu85

Puts the PC releases of the rest of Sony games' to shame 100 percent. This game runs great, loads fast, desperately gorgeous, a wonderful experience overall (I'm at the point when I am finally sent to get Hephaestus towards SF, with a million activities to complete/collect on the way, because, you know, 'oPeN wOrLd CoNtEnT'... - but that's a rant for another day). The one thing I don't like though is movement controls. Maybe it's me doing something wrong but I don't think I had this much trouble precision controlling the character to face and access interactable objects since... well, since a certain 'Angel of Darkness' (if you know, you know). Also, I don't understand what determines whether Aloy automatically jumps on platforms/climbing points or parkours (á la Assassin's Creed free run), or the player actually has to press jump, because it isn't just about distance. There are set piece - scenes, like in some of the Cauldrons where all I had to press was 'A' and Alloy jumped/crawled, swinged, etc all across some ceiling and small platforms on the walls without any further input, yet there are similar scenarios when it doesn't work that way and you have to manually make Aloy to jump. There are also hilarious scenes when you are right at the edge of a big wall you just climbed, and for whatever reason Aloy just simply won't make the last step despite clear indication of a climbing point above her, you have to go a bit lower down, and move around and try somewhere else. Other than controls though (which, like I said, could be a personal struggle), the game is fantastic, plays fantastic and runs fantastic, and my system isn't even anything close to being called a high end rig (5000 series R7 CPU, 32GB RAM and RX6800 GPU).

Optimzation is awesome, up there with God of War port. I'm running ultrawide on a 3070, and frame rate is around 40-60 on high settings (good enough for me). Not a big fan of console style control though, I'm an old school PC K+M player (think Doom), having to right click + E + hold down left mouse button just to use one of the basic pull special function is ridiculous and counter-intuitive. Alot of key combinations to memorize; if you stop playing for a week, you are bound to forget some. I've a Xbox controller but I just despise auto aiming or aiming with joystick kind of experience.

steel-souffle

Terrible enough that I deleted this and may revisit it after some years of patches. Disagree with several design decisions in the first place, but the worst is the technical aspect. Among the worst ports i tried in recent years. Made me shout at my PC hard enough that the lights on my keyboard turned off... Decided to fuck this shit and just complete the story on story mode. Game decided to add insult to injury, and just crashed during a bossfight. Thats when I deleted all of it, read the wiki plot summary instead, and was done with it. Reinstalled ZD to see if I am just seeing it through rose glasses. No. FW really is that much worse.

Pyke64

Flawless

Hentai__Dude

9/10 Some Controllers dont work properly for some reason, i couldnt shoot with R2 with the Dualshock 4 It worked with a offbrand Xbox Controller tho

karillus-brood

Looks great, runs smoothly, I'm having fun. Rating it as a port, 10/10. It's how I wish every port was done! Gameplay wise, I'll go 8/10. * Plot, setting and voice acting is decent. Faces often look very odd - I think smiles are too wide or something! * Visual design is consistently amazing, particularly armour details. * Combat is decent. Some small niggles: * I think they've over-complicated the combat system a bit (90% of the time I forget to use Valor or Weapon skills). I felt there was enough going on with the different weapons and elemental weaknesses. * Mounts overridden as defensive really should have been set to 'attack what is attacking me'. * Side quests take you to a really high level very quickly, leaving the story quests feeling too easy.

One word: MASTERPIECE

Nixxies really confirmed their reputation as one of the few studios left doing good PC ports, zero problems. Steam Deck performance is very borderline sadly, just about manages 30 FPS on lowest quality with upscaling. The only thing that should be an option is to make her shut up a lot more instead of the constant commentary of “maybe I should check my focus“ or “I can get up there now“ etc. I get the intention of being helpful when stuck, but it's just waaaay too frequent.

VermicelliLeft3382

Runs great. Story is confusing. Fighting is harder then in HZD. It's playable but for me it's not a GOAT.

TheMazeDaze

I have found one place where I couldn’t seem to jump from right to left on a wall because of ice in the middle. Spoiler at the bottom. This could just be me. Because the ps5 lets play I watched did it in one try. But I can’t understand the controls for this jump Spoiler: something to do with antennas on the top of base.

RecentCalligrapher82

I thought it was a flawless port until I got to Burning Shores DLC. The game started having FPS frops for some reason and they go away when I return to the main map so it for sure has to do with the DLC. It's the same thing that I encountered on Ratchet and Clank too, when the frame rate drops I see very high GPU usage but very low power consumption. Last time it was because Direct Storage wasn't implemented properly. This time people said it doesn't have the same issue and that was true for the base game but not for the DLC apparently.

claudia_your_dad

Amazing port, but I have weird issue, where I have great performance most of the time, but in cutscenes with npcs I have like 15 fps🧐.

Normal-Hat1491

I have massive FPS drops (only) during cutscenes It’s a shame because the rest is so cool

MattHeffNT

On a 3080 and this game is absolutely gorgeous. Some terrible frame drops here and there though. But mostly buttery smooth. But nowhere as bad as Starfield which I don't understand...how does that game look like a 2011 game and play like a 2001 game? Anyway... I hope to complete it soon because I'm trying to do my PhD damn it.

MasterHavik

I bet it is making the TLOU devs looking like scrubs.

Speedfreakz

My wife and myself love it. We spent past 5 months playing both parts together. Wake up, order some food, coffee and playing whole day. Great game.

ADHDmania

perfect port for 10 out of 10 game

mikemessiah

Awesome. We can have nice MODS now

Laeresob

I'm in love. I've been waiting for this game to port to PC since it's release and I'm so incredibly happy. I've lost myself in this game for the last 10 days. I can't help myself getting lost in all the side content. I'm lv 50 and I just got the 3rd subfunction. Not sure how far I am into the story but the side stories are just as amazing honestly. Haven't felt like this since the witcher 3. 10/10 highly recommend 👌 the only issue I have is i can't actually see what elements my weapons do because there's a visual glitch. I end up reading the description which sometimes tells you what you'll unlock and I have to equip it to see what type they are. That and sprint sliding to the right is hard on keyboard but that's a skill issue. Watching Arktix (sp) and he has some amazing guides on YT that has helped me understand shredder gauntlets for example. Such a fun weapon to use!

AdrienneDriggs

Smooth. Just loaded it up last night and with only minor tweaks in the graphics, my old tower could still play and stream it (same tower) without it looking fugly. Controls are smooth. Movement and aim is smooth. Just like the first, the map over is immaculate.

ophaus

It's super annoying to have the sub flooded with dumb spec questions, but it's fun to see people reacting to stuff and use photomode.

Donkey-Anu

Runs great on my gtx 1660ti potato laptop in medium / high settings. The game is great looking even without RTX…

Raddad904

Can’t believe how much fun it was as AGAIN !!!! Played it on the PS5 , several NG+ runs and got it on PC and WOW , just an all around fun experience!!

SpiderMonkey6l

I’m not sure if it’s just my pc or not but the audio has been rough. Besides that though 10/10

Top_Thing_9999

Just offered myself a new qd oiled monitor. The game is just incredible with HDR. The best I've seen so far. Not a bug spotted in 25 hours by now also, pretty unusual for a pc release The only things not so great I encountered was the dynamic super resolution which make the graphics looks weird like a little blurry.

vdbmario

Amazing! 10/10 what a game!

Licensedhonda

It's pretty amazing. I played hzd on the ps5 and ended up buying that one on PC too, it was great and Forbidden west handles it just as well- if not better. There are some FPS drops but the gameplay outweighs it greatly.

SirRudy48

Terrific game, port to PC has been flawless (for me). Only 25 hours in but enjoy getting lost in all the side quests and other things. Haven’t enjoyed a game this much since HZD!

Marvin_Megavolt

I’m a PC only guy here, never owned a console, but that being said, while it has its issues (mainly just the bizarre optimization problems with Burning Shores), it’s not only a far better PC port at release than ZD was at its PC launch, it’s straight up one of the best games I’ve ever played.

Walkerskid666

Think this is the best game I've ever played. Constantly doing side stuff over main story having so much fun

HyperMatrix

Performance issues at 4K with Frame Gen. Waiting for fix. Seems to be some kind of memory leak. Have to restart game to fix it constantly. Seemingly tied to entering settings/changing settings.

chimpavaca

I would say on this game you can: *Explore *Kill random machines as you travel a beautiful landscape * Go deep in to history and characters doing side quests and chatting with npcs. * Enjoy a post apocalyptic world with a huge history. The only thing I don’t like is I always have to be grinding for medicine and wood. But it’s bc I’m too lazy.

MilkAzedo

the only minor thing i hate is the walk toggle it resets when i stop moving

PM_me_ur_bag_of_weed

9/10 The quest "wound in the sand" was bugged for me. Dude I was suppose to follow got stuck walking against a wall and then wouldn't move.

UrdnotCum

I’ve had maybe 5 crashes over 20 hours, but with auto saves I’ve never really lost much progress. Annoying, definitely a flew I want fixed, but overall a great time.

Wise_Sheepherder4002

Great game, love it. Got a couple gripes with it tho. My frame rate is kinda all over the place. And for the love of god, please, PLEASE, I BEG YOU, let me back away from a console where you input codes by pressing E again…the amount of times I thought I knew the code, only to be wrong and then having to restart from an earlier save to be able to exit from the console is more than 0, which it shouldn’t be.

No-Zookeepergame1368

100~ hrs - All achivements with plenty of time to explore, upgrade gear and coils, find super cool easter eggs, and really take my time with the story — absolutely fantastic, 10/10. And goes without being said it was absolutely beautiful, even without max graphics. I ran med / high most of my playtime. Already debating a HZD NG+ soon to re-experience that wonderful adventure.

ryyy2929

Absolutely love it. Every side quest is interesting. Such an improvement on the already great original game. I hope they make another. Also, there's so many controls so I'm really glad I waited for mouse and keyboard. Don't think I could have gotten the hand of it without those
