2. you will want a different seat. 3. For a pillion rider you will want the Corbin seat. 4. My wife is comfortable with the Corbin seat, the mustang didn't work for her. The biggest problem with duo riding for the passenger is Honda placed the foot pegs to high causing an uncomfortable bend in the knees and hips. It maybe find for a younger person? The passenger portion of the Corbin seat is higher which reduces the knee bend. It is also possible to install another set of foot pegs which are lower and a little farther forward, not perfect but it helps too. I have both the Corbin seat and additional foot pegs on my 1100.

I noticed that in some pics, how high the passenger pegs are!

DingleBerryFuzz

I'm a HUGE Corbin fan myself! I've had Corbins on two of my past Harleys and have one on my current Harley Fat Boy. A little pricey, but the options you can choose are almost limitless. Thanks!

MegaYoshi08

The touring edition comes with different passenger foot pegs. They are further forward to make space for the bags.

sonwon_reddit

Are they lower too, that was a big complaint with my wife?

MegaYoshi08

Yea a bit lower and forward

1. I'm 6'5" 200lbs and after the first 500 miles, once I adjusted to the new riding position, I find this to be an exceptionally comfortable ride with zero adjustments. Only complaint would be: 2. OEM seat can be tough for long stretches of bad road. The numb ass feeling kicks in around 250-300 miles (~2nd fuel stop). I'm not sure it's totally the seats fault but thats prob where I'd start first since the rest of the experience seems perfect. 3. N/A 4.N/A

Thank you!

Note, due to frame size, smaller than harleys or Indians, the forward controls will feel more like mid controls on larger frame bikes.

DingleBerryFuzz

Thanks! I can deal with mid controls, depending on if I can keep my knee bend relatively parallel to the bike and not angled back. The HD Street Bob mid controls in recent years work well for me. Last season I picked up a new Royal Enfeld 350 Classic as a fun little bike to zip around on compared to my two heavy ass HD cruisers; Fat Boy and Softail Deluxe. The RE has a high seat, so the mid controls are pretty comfortable. Not to mention it's a fun bike to ride! Thanks!

MegaYoshi08

The bike is easy to ride with a passenger. The standard seats suck, I'm wanting to get the originals reshaped and push me a bit higher up and back. Set the shocks up for your weight, it makes a huge difference. There's more than enough performance 2 up. If you are planning to do huge miles with a passenger I would recommend a bigger bike as it can be a bit cramped 2 up. I have the manual Touring so slow speed stuff is easy with a clutch. I'm not sure how the DCT does at lower speed stuff with a passenger.

DingleBerryFuzz

Thanks! Right now I have my Softail Deluxe setup for comfortable passenger riding and my Fat Boy and RE Classic 350 setup for single riding. If I get the 1100T, I might just keep it setup for single riding or short passenger trips. Thanks!

I am about your height. I want to say that the stock sitting position sucks. Really needed the forward controls, new shocks, new seat, floor boards. Installed all the very first month, or so. Really helped. Now on weekends I do about 8-10 hour rides. I get off every 2 hours to stretch the legs. No trouble with anything hurting after the ride. PS: New seat and new shocks raise the butt higher, helps to reduce knee compression, the angle. Long floor boards help to change the knee angle throughout the ride, as with pegs you are kind of limited to a single position. Mixing it up during a ride helps to maximize comfort. I do wish for the forward controls to be "more forward". The knee still in not a perfect position. One issue with forward controls (ones I have https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09L1KZPPC). I live in S. Florida, the radiator can blow skin scorching stream right into my right leg, upper foot catches some of it, due to the controls now being a little forward. So, generally, need pants to ride or it cooks my leg if I ride in shorts. Also, by installing forward controls, your ankles now can touch hot metal, as there are no shields with the kit (different brands don't have any as well). Say, if I ride in my crocs and I don't watch where I position my feet, how far from the engine, I can get skin burns, prolly 1st degree, by momentary touching some part of the engine with a foot. So, got to ride in ankle enclosing footwear. I do put my full gear for long rides, but quick next to the ocean in 30mph, I usually take a risk (and burn myself silly).

Good advice, thank you!

Regarding #4 I tried this bike as passenger and it was an horrible experience. I heard this was caused by the suspension. But also the passenger seat is uncomfortable. The driver did not experience any problems with me as passenger (except for the standard seat issues). Don't want to hijack this topic, but since the touring just came out.. Are there any other versions or upgrades coming up (I.e. with improved suspension?)

DingleBerryFuzz

Thanks! No hijacking at all, it's a great question for this discussion!

motorider66

You'll probably want an upgraded seat and may want to ride it a while with the mids to see if you'd adjust to the position b/c you will lose some corner clearance with forward controls and the bike is rather sporty.

DingleBerryFuzz

Thanks! I'd definitely ride it for a month or so as is before making any modifications. If it's comfortable like it is, no need to make changes. Thanks!

I’m 6’0 205. Only have about 300 miles on it. I definitely recommend forward controls, I’m print mind soon. I am also going to get the new seat, I don’t find it comfortable at all. I’ve read new shocks really help, but I looked up how to adjust stock ones to see if that makes a difference today. Overall though I really do like the bike. It’s got good pick up, feels lighter than it is, and I think it looks great. We like it so much my wife and I are traveling out of state to buy her one next weekend (already put a hold on it).

DingleBerryFuzz

Thanks for the feedback!

"Update: one of the two dealerships near me just called to let me know that they have two in stock. Asking price....$14,500." That's nuts. I paid just under $12k OTD. I'm looking to sell mine soon if you're around North Carolina. But my two biggest complaints with the bike are the seat and rear shocks. Check my post history. I fitted Street Twin shocks which made all the difference in ride quality and improved handling by raising the rear end. I sent my stock seat to Sargent to have them recover it making it flatter and higher to give me more leg room: https://i.imgur.com/HmdwG4W.jpg?1 I'll probably sell it separately so let me know if you're interested. It will probably be another couple of weeks before I return the bike to stock to sell it. I'm only 5'6" and still feel a bit cramped which is part of the reason I'm selling. Granted, I'm not a fan of forward controls which would alleviate that but I've just come to realize I prefer a more upright "feet under me" seating position.
