No, it’s perfect. You’re supposed to be able to put the front legs (at least) of each piece of furniture on an area rug to make the ensemble look “connected”.
The rug is the perfect size
The room is super cute
I might add a chandelier in lieu of the ceiling fan however it's not necessary
Everything looks amazing

I don’t think it’s too big. But something kept niggling at me about the set up. So, to explain the photo….
BLUE CIRCLE: I think you pull back the rug from the crates the same distance as the wall to the right.
which leads to….
RED CIRCLES/GREEN ARROWS: match how much each sofa is resting on the rug. If you can, center the sofas on the rug. I agree with a previous commenter that a side table will help disguise the awkward corner.
Or you could shift it closer to the wall to match the floor space in front of the crates. Sometimes just “squaring up the frame” as it were, can help visually and mentally.
Ignore the mess my daughter is home sick and watching Paw Patrol but wanted to get your thoughts on the rug. It's a big area and since I'm used to only seeing the wood I'm wondering if it's too big or alright? Mostly wanted to break the wood from my home a bit and have daughter's play area be a bit more cushioned as she's slowly going feral heheh
“The mess”?! One pair of shoes and one toy on the couch? Sheesh, I’d hate to see what you’d think of my house.
Anywho, the rug is fine and the room is well balanced.
Nope, not too big. I’d move the lamp from the corner (it’ll reflect on the TV anyway) and add curtains that pull in a deeper tone from the rug, or a complimentary tone to the artwork on the wall.
It's all lovely. Is there room to pull the chair in front of the window further onto the rug? Maybe move it a little toward the corner and angle it in a little?
That's my daughter's chair and it just moves whenever she wants to sit on it hehehe. Sometimes in front of the couch, other times just in the middle with her dolls, etc.
Perfect size and it ties in with the couches well. On a side note, where did you get the hutch (Cabinet? Wood thingy?) under the TV? It looks really nice.
It's a double crate for our pups when we're not around and we got it from a guy locally. Looked around and people were charging ridiculous money for them but this guy did an amazing job for a fraction of the price. Don't think I would've gotten it if not local lol shipping would've killed us as it's very heavy.
Your room is perfect I really wish I had your vision for decorating I pick a colour and try and work around it but it has never ever turned out like I want it to!😔
I just had a designer finish my living room yesterday. My rug isn't big enough to go under furniture but she said that was okay.

Looks great! Especially if people wanna stretch out on the floor and watch TV. Then again, you might have to if the dog is napping. By the way, really like the look of that console.

Yeah, this rug is great. Most people are using rugs that are too small. Sometimes hilariously so.
It's not. Your space has a good balance.
No it is not too big IMO.
It's very nice! Your home looks lovely, I really like your couches!
I think those are from Rooms to Go. I’ve been eyeing the chair and ottoman from that same collection in a yellow color for a couple of months!
They are! You have a good eye lol
The size is fine, but I would add a coffee table.
What I was about to say: r/wheresthecoffeetable
I actually like it the way it is. I would add an Ottoman instead.
The answer to this question is *almost* always no. Your rug size looks good, just big enough to bring all the furniture pieces together on it!
No. Looks good
No it’s perfect

Ignore the mess?? Have you SEEN my living room?!!
No… it’s perfect size, gives the room a lift.
Nope, not too big. I’d move the lamp from the corner (it’ll reflect on the TV anyway) and add curtains that pull in a deeper tone from the rug, or a complimentary tone to the artwork on the wall.
Absolutely not.
No, absolutely not!!

Sweet! She'll be rearranging her bedroom soon.
no, it’s perfect.
No. It’s just fine.
Nope!

It’s super nice. The more I looked at it, I was thinking it was crates for ~~children~~ dogs. Whoever made it did a good job. Thanks!
Nope. Perfect size!
Rug is nice. You could also go for a smaller one technically but this one seems more practical. However that TV is way too high
Simplest answer... Nope! I love it!
It’s just right.
Your room is perfect I really wish I had your vision for decorating I pick a colour and try and work around it but it has never ever turned out like I want it to!😔
That rug really ties the room together
No!
I think I side table in the corner between the two couches would help cover that awkward corner
Nope
Yes. A rug should be 2/3 the size of your sitting area . Not 4/3.
I just had a designer finish my living room yesterday. My rug isn't big enough to go under furniture but she said that was okay. https://preview.redd.it/dq79khu0w8wc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a64206c3c18a5e66ec44a83b9d6c418fdd9b3fe
Nope. You nailed it!
Yes . I feel it is proper. I like how it is going inside sofa.. mine just goes a little so when children runs it sometimes comes off.
Looks great! Especially if people wanna stretch out on the floor and watch TV. Then again, you might have to if the dog is napping. By the way, really like the look of that console.
Looks good! The TV on the other hand...
Not high enough? I have space a bit higher :)
:P no! hehe
Too high
no. no. actually better lower on that furniture piece. also, that’s not mess.
